low fat is good for gall stones. Altthough other than my attack the other day all the choc i have scoffed the last 2 weeks has had no effect on my gall stones!

BiancaCastafiore · 31/12/2007 22:08

I haven't really thought about resolutions yet...

I like
~be less shouty

erm

~tone up (2 stone lighter than I was in the summer, but still wobbly)
~make more time for kids at the weekend
~pay off credit card bill
~push my boundries more re anxiety, perhaps?...

No more that i can think of...

Just had our little party. Everyone left by 9ish. It was fun to do something to celebrate new year (we don't really do much since having the children) House was so nice and tidy that it onloy took a few minutes to get it back to normal once everyone had left.

I'm now thrashing Tort at scrabble

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 31/12/2007 22:09

I may catch up Bianca but proably not! Lager has gone to my head!

DontDreamItBeIt · 31/12/2007 22:19

Why aren't I playing scrabble with you too Bianca?

Did you do the treasure hunt?

I paid off the cc this year
We will be in trouble again if dp doesn' get anoher job soon though.

No perhaps re boundry pushing....Every time you've said you wanted to back out of social stuff, you've done it and felt good. Keep up the good work this year.

OP posts:
BiancaCastafiore · 31/12/2007 22:25

I have playe dmy move with our game Jas

Thanks - I have made loads of progress this year with my anxiety so will just continue the good work. Being gentle with myself when I sometimes really don't feel up to going out has been a good step too. This time last year I couldn't even walk the kids to school, since Sept I've walked/cycled almost every day

Didn't do the treasure hunt - we only had 3 older children and they were still only 6yo so I thought I'd save it for anotehr time. Thanks fo rthe ideas thoughy, I may use it at dds birthday (several months away yet)

DontDreamItBeIt · 31/12/2007 22:27

So have I

Definitey best wih older kids for the treasure hunt. Glad you had a good day.

I had a phone call from a relatively new friend wishing me a Happy New Year this evenig which has relly cheered me up.

BiancaCastafiore · 31/12/2007 22:30

That's nice jas. The friends who came this evening were all new friends we hardly knew last year Was nice to feel we've found such nice people to socialise with over the past year, and not only the mums who are friends, husbands are friends for dh, kids all get on well

You're so much better at scrabble than me lol!

DontDreamItBeIt · 31/12/2007 22:33

If you thik I'm good, don't play gibberish . She is just scary!

DP doesn't socialise with my friends very much. He likes to spend tme with people he ahs known for at least 20 years!.
He does at least talk to my friends now, and last weekend did stay ad chat with us all. It was really nice, as usually he goes out or hides upstairs when Ihave people round.

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 31/12/2007 22:35

Aww so nice to have new friends,
Can i get some?

DC all still awake!

BiancaCastafiore · 31/12/2007 22:40

I've heard that about gibberish

Dh hardly bothers with new friends either but has been much better over the past year. We seem to have branched out a bit and met some new people. We're never going to be the types to have dinner parties etc but at least we have people to have round liek thsi eveening.

DontDreamItBeIt · 31/12/2007 22:47

One of my closest friends from when I first had dd1 is moving away next monh. We've kept up even though our dc go to different school, so I'm hoping to stay in touch, bu not being close enough to pop in on the way home is a bit of a blow

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 31/12/2007 22:49

My best friend from school moved about 2 years ago. She doesn't have kids but we used to see each other as often as possible now its about once a year.

DontDreamItBeIt · 31/12/2007 22:51

My best friend from school lives close enough to see about once a fortnight, but is waiting o be evicted, and may have o move away. I'd miss her terribly if I could only see her once a year,

OP posts:
ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 31/12/2007 22:56

I hope she doesn't have to move away.

Trouble is i know my friend is misarable in cornwall and han't made any friends. Plus she isn't really happy with her boyfriend but i think she is scared to move and start all over again after such a big move. She would have to find job, flat etc. But i might of got through to her the other night. Told her she is worth more and deserves a better year in 2008.

BiancaCastafiore · 31/12/2007 22:58

my best friend I've made since being a mum moved over seas a couple of years ago. Didn't appreciate what a great friend I had in her until she wasn't there any more We email/chat on MSN/text but it's not the same as bumping into her around the village and having someone you can call on anytime.
Missed a phone call from her last night, cried whne I heard her message, I miss her...will try calling her back tomorrow evening. One day we'll have the money/I'll be brave enough to go and visit her.

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 31/12/2007 23:48

Aggghhh beaten again!
Well not long to go now!
Both DD's are asleep.
DS2 was but woke up again. His head is hurting where he bumped it! Serves him right for messing about! Will he learn? ha! doubt it!

DontDreamItBeIt · 31/12/2007 23:50

I'm going to bed.

All mine are asleep, and dp won't be back til next year It is his birthday tomorrow, so I have to let him off.

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 31/12/2007 23:51

HAPPY NEW YEAR JAS

Shannaratinger · 31/12/2007 23:58

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL FLYERS

New Year's Resolutions:
Less shouty, thanks for that one
More organized
HAPPY i.e. not stressed and depressed.

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 01/01/2008 00:03

WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And DD's slept through a mass of party poppers! And us shouting! lol!

Simply · 01/01/2008 02:04

Happy New Year again to everyone and thanks for the good wishes. I think I'm ready to head for bed now. I've done the washing up (I need to prepare a packed lunch tomorrow morning so I wanted it done and I am trying to keep up with the babysteps even though I am still on day 2!) and I've found some of the packed lunch stuff already. I suddenly realised just after 12 that I was drinking champagne and I was the designated driver! I had to quickly give it to dh and eat something and have a glass of water. It's a good job I only had a few sips and then remembered or we'd have been sleeping on their floor tonight!
