Time for a new thread! The aim is to declutter your home, removing 1 item on the 1st of the month, 2 on the 2nd, 3 on the 3rd, and so on up to 28 items on the 28th. By the end of the month, you will have decluttered over 400 items!

I will be posting daily.

Not sure , 4 months of this has tired me out . I’ll still need to declutter and organise but at my own speed maybe . I’ll have a think .in the meantime jotting things down on my running total list . Atm am folding the laundry hopefully finding something out of it …

ImFree2doasiwant · 01/03/2022 23:28

@SuperDiaperBaby I think I'll just start again, and give up on finishing Feb, it'll be a struggle over the next few days to catch up. I may slack off to a set amount each day but its all progress.

Today - 1 pen. It works but the rubber grip part has gone sticky

SuperDiaperBaby · 02/03/2022 14:13

Day 2 - 2 empty sun cream bottles

@@Nordicmom and @ImFree2doasiwant I agree! Anything that not wanted or needed and is an out is a positive! I am still at the stage that the target is useful as it is motivating achievable.....until 31st March!

Nordicmom · 03/03/2022 02:17

  • 1 big Lego box to recycling ,I cleared it out of DS room as soon as he had built the car it had in it ,he has a bit of a tendency hold on to this kind of thing then when I ask he doesn’t need it after all

Day 4

  • 4 pairs of yet more socks to rags
tabbycat985 · 04/03/2022 12:26

Been so busy this month but I've decided to work backwards again so in theory 31-28 (haven't counted everything but I'm happy there's enough to make up for the past four days). Left dump pile, right charity shop pile!

Everyone is doing great, it's definitely getting more difficult here to find things that are easy to grab & get rid of!

Day off tomorrow so will catch up.

Hello, am sure it’s already been asked but.. is it worth selling kids John Lewis jumpers unworn on eBay? Or wherever or would you just charity shop them? Like everyone else I’m appalled at how much these things cost and that makes it so hard to declutter. Plus the’it might be useful one day’ erm, it’s a light from a charity shop and our ceilings are too low…help!

ImFree2doasiwant · 09/03/2022 07:54

I don't sell on ebay but have had some success on Facebook, and my sister is selling on vinted. I am realistic about pricing, I sold a bundle of 14 items for £10 . Couple of excellent condition, then half good and half playwear.

(If they firmt 6-9 yrs let me know, always looking for looking fir bargain!)

OP posts:
SuperDiaperBaby · 09/03/2022 09:02

@Cleanbedlinen12 I don't use Facebook but use eBay and Vinted and find anything will sell at the right price. But if you really need the money make sure you take account of the cost of (fees), packaging and postage on eBay. I try all sorts - for me it is all about trying to not add items to landfill so if they don't get a price worth the effort on a listing I will freecycle or donate but I would say always worth a try listing items.
@ImFree2doasiwant have a good day off and well done everyone still going...

tabbycat985 · 09/03/2022 09:53

Ohh @ImFree2doasiwant that sounds awful, they will maybe offer you those iron injections, I think they're supposed to be a bit more effective😫

@Cleanbedlinen12 I used to EBay for a living & now I wouldn't touch it, everything moves a lot faster on Vinted!

To finish up yesterday, cardboard boxes x5, pairs of earrings x5, nose rings x2.

Todays 24 hoover filter, wedding invites/programs x20 (from my own wedding, I've saved a couple to scrapbook but why did I ever keep 20), necklace, pin badge, blanket.
