Time for a new thread! The aim is to declutter your home, removing 1 item on the 1st of the month, 2 on the 2nd, 3 on the 3rd, and so on up to 28 items on the 28th. By the end of the month, you will have decluttered over 400 items!

I will be posting daily.

I guess we are all living in houses that can end up as storage spaces over time if we are not careful. I am trying to reverse that process a little....

Nordicmom · 07/02/2022 07:21

Cheat day here, 22 books out but I've bought a ton of storage boxes & baskets!
Sounds counter productive but I'm finding them very useful & being ruthless, already ahead for tomorrow.

gincakecomps · 07/02/2022 17:00

Body lotion I couldn't get anything out of
Pile of uni paperwork
Broken bottle top
Used different type of gravy up before opening new one

RestingStitchFace · 07/02/2022 19:03

Reporting for duty (salutes)

1 very knackered old handbag , 3 knackered old USB sticks, 1 scratched CD (all in bin.)

2 DVDs in charity shop bag.

Sexnotgender · 07/02/2022 19:12

Do charity shops take DVDs? I have a load of Disney ones I need to get rid of.

Nordicmom · 07/02/2022 23:13

We’ve taken them but they didn’t want CDs at some point .

Nordicmom · 07/02/2022 23:15

We don’t have any dvds anymore except a few kids own school play and concert ones . We concluded everything was now available digitally that we would have kept otherwise . Ditto cds except DD has a few story and musical ones but that’s it .

Nordicmom · 07/02/2022 23:26

I’ve been mainly cleaning and doing laundry etc today but things are always being put aside so now I’m about 75 ahead still I think . The landscapers finally got back to us so we can hopefully soon progress with it and in the process get rid of stuff from the garage as we move cycling and gardening stuff to the shed we are then putting up too . DH is definitely at least decluttering a bunch old car washing rags etc , I need to find out how many and add to my list .

Nordicmom · 08/02/2022 07:19

Day 8

  • 7 old dog toys to bin
  • 1 little fabric bag that came with something I ordered to rags
RestingStitchFace · 08/02/2022 12:45

Day 8:

2 kids activity books
1 very moth-eaten stuffed bear
3 Lonely Planet guides - at least 10 years out of date.
1 pair of knackered jeans
1 trashy novel that I thought was dire and have no idea why I kept.

Also found a bunch of stuff for Vinted.

Sexnotgender · 08/02/2022 13:53

Day 8:
Sold breast pump and nursing vest on eBay, just packing them.
Going to tackle what was my dining room and see what else can go while baby is sleeping.
Turning it into a second lounge/office for when I go back to work as my office is now her nursery.

Sexnotgender · 08/02/2022 14:43

Got a cheese thing that is going to charity, plus a set of espresso cups and a teapot. A friend is picking up a wicker basket. Think that makes my 8 for today.

ImFree2doasiwant · 08/02/2022 22:16

Day 8
2 x packaging
1 old phone box
1 party invite ds has been keeping
2 sets stickers
1 pair wellies
1 pair knickers

Busy day at work today so these all taken from the stuff I've gathered so far this month.
