Looking to decluuter the kitchen a bit and looking online people don't seem to have anything out . Not even a toaster! Do they just get it out of a cupboard everytime they use it? I have out toaster, nutri bullet, magimix, actifry. It feels too much. But have no room in cupboards to put it. What do you do?

Kettle, toaster, microwave, coffee machine, soda stream.

Other appliances not used daily are in the cupboards. Sometimes leave the instant pot out if I'll be using it again soon as it's bulky to lift about!

My plumber told me about a kitchen that he had worked on like that Errol. Basically there was n o t h i n g on the worktops at all. The cupboards nearest the worktop had an up and over door all the way along that revealed small appliances and gadgets.

friedeggandsauce · 29/12/2021 17:24

@ErrolTheDragon something like this so you pull the toaster out (and kettle) although we may have a hot tap so not need the kettle

Kettle and mixing stand. I have arthritis so can't lift the mixing stand and I use both a lot.

wineandchocolateforthewin · 29/12/2021 17:27

Toaster, velvetiser, dolce gusto coffee pod machine.
We have an integrated microwave and a hot water tap so no kettle needed

ExquisitelyDecorated · 29/12/2021 17:33

We considered one of those breakfast cupboards to put the appliances in but I'm really glad we just went for appliances on the counter instead, it's far better use of space in our kitchen layout.

MintJulia · 29/12/2021 17:36

Slow cooker
Kettle
Toaster

because they are in daily use.

Wallywobbles · 29/12/2021 17:38

Toaster and bread bin. Everything else lives in a roll top cupboard which has plugs in. Never need to take them out.

woodhill · 29/12/2021 17:40

Kettle, microwave, food processor and toaster

I would love a pull down panel to hide the gadgets but it's fine

PinkLime · 29/12/2021 17:41

Toaster, kettle and coffee machine for gadgets.
A few glass jars with pasta/rice and tea/coffee jars, a chopping board and a few plants for other bits on worktops. We try to keep it as clutter free as possible but always seem to run out of space.

HeronLanyon · 29/12/2021 17:45

Now looking up ‘roll top cupboards’. Now also spent time looking at salad spinners as do actually want one and would use but need to de-clutter other things I never use. I can’t believe I have another mandoline at the back of a cupboard. I never use one and I know I gave one away a few years ago. They breed !

safariboot · 29/12/2021 17:50

The kettle and the coffee machine are used several times a day, and the microwave is big and heavy. They stay on the worktop because my kitchen is for making food and drinks in, not for looking pretty on InstaTok.

The toaster isn't used so often, but there's no cupboard space anyway.

The slow cooker, blender, and scales on the other hand are all kept stored away.

morechocolateneededtoday · 29/12/2021 18:38

Just coffee machine and vitamix are permanently out. We have instant pot, air fryer, bread maker, stand mixer, panini press, stick blender (and probably others I've forgotten about) away.

I hate having things out, they are a pain to clean and clean around so prefer for most things to be away. Somehow there is still always a range of children's clutter out everyday

morechocolateneededtoday · 29/12/2021 18:39

Forgot to say, microwave is built in and have boiling water tap so don't need either out. We don't use a toaster

PlanetNormal · 29/12/2021 18:43

As well as the obvious kettle & toaster, the coffee machine & grinder, because they are used every day. The Nutribullet blender is in the cupboard at the moment but is always out in the warmer months because it gets used all the time to make smoothies.

didireallysaythat · 29/12/2021 18:47

We have a cupboard with bifold doors on the work surface so the toaster and Nespresso live in there) and we have a boiling water tap.so no kettle, and the microwave is in the tower above the cooker. It's great.

PumpkinPickle22 · 29/12/2021 19:03

Kettle and air fryer

I keep my toaster in the cupboard and get it out each time. I keep my worktops as clear as possible

fitflopqueen · 29/12/2021 19:04

Left of sink, above dishwasher is the compost bin - it’s pretty and nearest the door
Right Of sink in corner is kettle, nespresso machine, bread bin and toaster then cooker.
Other side of range are the kitchen aid and old fashioned Avery scales (both too heavy to be moving and closer to breadmaking ingredients)
Microwave lives in utility room, other stuff such as blenders and slow cooker are in cupboards.

cloudtree · 29/12/2021 19:10

None. Microwave lives in a cupboard as does the toaster (but we also have an everhot so don’t really need it). Stove top kettle is always on the Everhot.

Food mixer lives in the pantry.

The numerous other gadgets I’ve bought and don’t use - instant pot, airfryer, nutribullet live in the cupboard of shame and never come out

SundayTeatime · 29/12/2021 19:11

Kettle and toaster are the only gadgets. Microwave is in cupboard. We don’t have any other big gadgets.

PanicBuyingSprouts · 29/12/2021 19:13

Toaster, kettle and microwave. The radio sits on top of the microwave.

MilitantFaucet · 29/12/2021 19:13

Coffee machine
Toaster
Kitchen aid mixer
Kettle is stove top, no microwave Lo

CeCeSchmidt · 29/12/2021 19:14

I would love an appliance garage though.

ExquisitelyDecorated · 29/12/2021 19:19

We have an Everhot too @cloudtree but find the Dualit makes better toast more easily. Virtually never use the microwave now though. Haven't used the Instant Pot since we got the EH either.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 29/12/2021 19:20

I so wish for an appliance garage! I loathe 'stuff' out, but DH does the cooking/shopping/clean up so tis mostly his domain.

Kettle
Sodastream
Bluetooth speaker
Nespresso machine

The toaster lives in a kitchen cabinet, all other appliances live in a cupboard in the hallway (easyish to get at) and the microwave is integrated.

DH has, however, created a whole coffee/tea station next to the kettle, and let me tell you, it is NOTHING like what these words might lead you to believe. He is delighted, for example, with his black rubber mat (!) like they use in coffee house. I just pretend I can't see that corner - and enjoy all of the lovely drinks he produces on demand :)
