Also am replacing DD football her old one has gotten too small and is worn out so it’s going too .

AmberIsACertainty · 06/06/2021 22:49

Sending you restful vibes Nordic hope you don't ache too much tomorrow.

So today was cleaning day and I've finished finally. I was slow getting started. Two lots of washing done dried and away.

Nettleskeins · 07/06/2021 15:23

Hope you found relief from the arthritis Nordic, that sounds very hard to bear day after day.
Amber I have done two loads of washing today...it is a good day for drying outside so lots of colourful things draped around garden chairs etc today!
Yesterday's sweeping of the alley and further moving of pots to clean debris behind them meant today I'm just tweaking, so nice to be in that position.
I deadheaded some red daisies in window boxes, and watered a pot hydrangea. DH bought sushi for lunch although I had just eaten some leftovers, so that feels "holiday" like picnic. DD has gone off to central London looking very arty, she thanked me yest for the final clean of the upstairs bathroom as I think when friend came round yest her eyes were opened a bit more to the (self inflicted)grot factor of her room , and she was relieved bathroom was a bit more "rinsed" than normal.
I've emptied food compost.
I've bundled clean sheets and pillowcases into airing cupboard without folding.
I've reloaded DW

Now going to tackle the dusty lampshades X 2 on landing with a stepladder and duster.

AmberIsACertainty · 07/06/2021 18:28

Well I got all excited about someone messaging to buy something then at the last moment after making arrangements they decided it's the wrong size. So no luck. Disappointed to have wasted a day checking and answering messages. I've got nothing useful done at all.

Hi all, I'm trying to catch up with the thread; I'm on page 39...you are all working and reporting so quickly!

I had a bit of a relapse on Friday, and the weekend wasn't great. Not too much doing, however...

last week and over the weekend I gathered and got rid of a large amount of waste paper. I have so much paperwork that needs destroying securely; far too much to shred, so I need to burn it, i think.
I got all the crap that came out of my old car sorted through and binned a fair bit. Took the name tag out of a piece of school clothing and stitched it into the new replacement piece. Did all the laundry over the weekend and today. Still need to hang the newly washed load to dry. Stitched up Dd's school skirt hem late last night when she discovered it was pulled down a considerable way Hmm. This evening I washed up, cleaned the draining board and the sink (also the sink tidy thing). They are 'white' but old - 25 years, and the sink is stained. The mixer tap is stained green through water/limescale (sort of), and age. Cooked dinner. Got to make Dd's lunch and wash up, hang laundry, go to bed. I want to do more. Not tonight though.

I'll catch up on the thread tomorrow I hope. Keep up the great work :)

AmberIsACertainty · 08/06/2021 13:23

I put a small plastic toy in the charity donation bag. Though I'm not sure what's going I happen to that bag because so far no charity shops are open and I suspect they'll be so overwhelmed when they do that they won't be taking any donations. I'm possibly going to end up putting all the things into the recycling.

Nettleskeins · 08/06/2021 13:43

I used up last bit of compost and threw away three used compost sacks and some plastic pots; planted up my remaining sunflowers and some bedding plants that had no home. (Red geraniums, pale yellow begonia and white ageratum(?) which ds 2 bought two weeks ago.
Recycling done
Put clean clothes in DDS room.
More clean sheets bunged into airing cupboard
Yesterday dusted the two paper lampshades on landing

Now going to attempt to pair socks. .5 people's worth of confusion

Solo · 09/06/2021 23:46

Time for a new thread. Does anyone else want to do it, or shall I go ahead?

AmberIsACertainty · 10/06/2021 01:59

I wouldn't have a clue how to do it solo

Elleherd · 10/06/2021 09:42

Solo I think you should, if you would?
Your honesty and realism about it being a long term situation and there being no fast fixes when so many other things and others needs have to be met daily, was what got me reading and feeling less alone about it being a long term problem.

Decided best to wait for contractor hell to be over before posting again, and hopefully today they are coming to just collect equipment and go. Fingers crossed.
Reading back everyone’s done so much! Congratulations to everyone on all the work. (and unblocked drain Flowers)

Am having lots of physical issues at the moment so mostly I’ve just been keeping on top of contractor mess and basic maintenance, and doing lots of paper work to try and get on top of vastly changed finances. I have contracts that where set aside because of the pandemic that now have to be completed, (but the money’s spent and body isn't working!) and sent some job applications that I’m trying to convince myself just went quietly into the bin, rather than laughed at! (not a single one acknowledged)
Only stuff that's been going out is what the contractors have been creating and standard recycling.

SingToTheSky · 10/06/2021 09:49

Happy for you to solo 💕

Elleherd · 10/06/2021 10:31

SingToTheSky Can I ask how you do hearts? I looked for them on MN's offerings but ended up having to use my words.

AmberIsACertainty · 10/06/2021 10:59

Elleherd glad you're ok I was hoping you was just busy with contractors and didn't have an accident trying to fix something. I'm pleased for you that their work is almost over. Good luck with the job hunting too. They have so many applicants these days that they don't reply to anyone any more unless it's to offer an interview.

I feel like cracking on with something hoarder-y today, but I don't know what. Hope everyone has a good day.

Miaowse · 10/06/2021 23:17

Today I delivered most of my bags and boxes of donations to the charity shop. I can’t even remember precisely what was in the two binbags as I filled them so long ago, but I resisted the urge to have a look through.

Aside from this small victory I’ve achieved very little, though I’m zooming through my TBR pile of books. I think the current one will go back on the bookcase as I’m really enjoying it so far.

How’s everyone else getting on?

Solo · 10/06/2021 23:24

I will make the next thread then... Thanks

Solo · 10/06/2021 23:57

NEW THREAD

SingToTheSky · 11/06/2021 08:03

Elle the hearts are just emojis from my phone, as I use that for MN rather than a computer :)
