Totally random one... I usually do mine for day morning so things are dry for the weekend but wondering if there is a better way of doing this!

Pretty much daily 2A and 2Teens. Do linen/towels when a good drying day like today. Have done 4 loads 😁. Very sad but I love a good laundry day.

Nanalisa60 · 21/09/2019 19:10

I Look at the BBC weather app at night about 8pm if the weather is good for the next day will but a wash on then it can go out first thing in morning. I just love it when it’s a good drying day (dry & windy) In the winter when wash is finished will but it on another 1600 spin to help with the drying. Because the weather has been nice for the last few day and I know the cold damp weather is just around the corner I have been washing everything I can get my hands on dressing gowns/oncies, Throws, cushion covers, bath matts, even washed all granddaughters soft toys!!

Tensixtysix · 22/09/2019 18:02

Saturday. All goes in the same load with a colour catcher. Ridiculous the amount of electricity and water people use!
Think of the planet!

Twickerhun · 22/09/2019 18:04

Pretty much everyday and I’m slovenly wham it comes to sheets and towels - just keeping up with clothes is enough

WeeDangerousSpike · 22/09/2019 18:11

When I run out of pants!

I don't have a tumble drier so I do multiple loads when the weather's good, or a small load of essentials / quick drying stuff when I need to if the weather's bad.

LifeOfBox · 22/09/2019 18:25

Think of the planet!

Hard to read that in the same sentence as 'Colour Catcher' tbh.

These things contain the most ecologically unfriendly components - just one of the ingredients listed is Butylphenyl methylpropional - deemed 'not safe for human health' by the European Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety. Thats not even 'planet health', its only 'human health'.

You should research the ecological track record of the products you use before bashing folk for doing a few more washes!

Gigia · 22/09/2019 18:30

Every day!

Queenfreak · 22/09/2019 18:30

2 adults and a potty training 2 year old.
Towels
Bedding
2 darks
1 lights
So 5 times a week
Usually wash mon-fri and have weekends off

Redcrayons · 22/09/2019 18:33

Usually Most days.

Friday is whites day because we have a weeks worth of school shirts.

Saturday is bedding day because this is change the beds day.
The rest is as and when.

Me and 2 DCs.

BillywigSting · 22/09/2019 18:33

Every day, usually in the evenings. Let it dry a bit overnight on the maiden then finish off in the dryer in the morning. If it's a nice day and I've got time I'll do another load and hang it on the line.

My washing basket is still never empty Hmm

Weedinosaurus · 22/09/2019 18:34

How is it possible to do it in one day? Genuinely asking? I do it every. single. day.
And I’m still never at the bottom of it...

EdWinchester · 22/09/2019 18:35

Every day and my husband does it.

silenceofthemams · 22/09/2019 18:37

A load in nearly every evening and hang it up in the morning before work.

BillywigSting · 22/09/2019 18:38

@Weedinosaurus same here, unless I spend most of the day doing it and hammer the dryer which costs a fortune.

I got to the bottom of my washing basket once and my pile of clean laundry was almost as high as I am tall

GoodwithRocksandGems · 22/09/2019 18:41

Everyday. 3 kids and pets. Towels at weekend though. I’m not super human.

TheDuckSaysMoo · 22/09/2019 18:47

Usually all on a Sunday. Sometimes a Saturday if I have something planned for Sunday. Minimum 5 loads, sometimes 1 or 2 more.
Darks
Colours
Whites
Towels
Delicates

firstimemamma · 22/09/2019 18:50

Every morning!

schnubbins · 27/09/2019 13:35

Every single day .Had four visitors last weekend .I have done 22 loads of washing this week.I hate it!

Aragog · 27/09/2019 13:42

Normally one midweek, a load on a Friday after work and 1 or 2 Saturday morning.

But we don't really create a lot of washing.

3 of us here - 2 adults, 1 older teen.
We don't wash bedding every week.
We only wash towels weekly.
Everyone rewears a lot of their clothes with the exception of underwear, DH's work shirts and others depending if it is warm and sweaty weather.
We dry clothes in the utility room on an airer, or for towels and some items - tumble dryer.

DH does all the ironing. He likes to do it in a Sunday whilst listening to the radio.

MsMustDoBetter · 27/09/2019 13:43

Ugh, if I'm in the house I'm doing laundry.

Aragog · 27/09/2019 13:44

Our laundry bins (one for lights, one for darks) are always empty at least once a week. Ironing pile is always emptied at the weekend. The clean washing is put in laundry baskets for each room - they are emptied at least once a week too.

PivotPivotPivottt · 27/09/2019 13:45

Every single day. Just me and 2 children. I don't know where all the laundry comes from I think it breeds.

itbemay1 · 27/09/2019 13:46

Every day I usually bung a wash on and either stick it on the line or tumbler or clothes horse. Never ending with 2 teenagers and DH Smile

Parker231 · 27/09/2019 13:48

It gets done whenever it needs doing? Do people have set days?

Gazelda · 27/09/2019 13:49

Friday - whites (school shirts ready for Monday)
Saturday - darks
Sunday - lights and ironing
Monday - bedding (day I clean bedrooms)
Tuesday- towels (day I clean bathroom)
Weds - darks
Thurs - lights

Only one wash per day to Allow time for drying before the next lot needs putting on airer.
Dry outside in summer, on airer next to humidifier in winter.
