I won't be around for the next few days. It's DH's 40th tomorrow and he's taking a long weekend. I'll pop back when I can but I thought I'd make myself useful and start the thread.

shouldbe - Here's hoping you have a better day with your dd. I think the idea of a bit of one to one time with her is a good one if you can do it. DD1 really seems to respond well to extra mum time without the others.

We have stuff planned for most of today, so I will probably end up carryig my list over to tomorrow again, but I will try and get some of it done tis morning.

me & dd meet dh for lunch
iron clothes on line once dried(obviously won't iron them whilst they are still on the line)

Theres more I know but can't think. Off to have breakfast & try to get Ellie to drink milk out of her new cup(one of many bought recently)

Dd has been lovely so far today so I have hope again that I'll survive the holidays. She loves having one to one time with me but it's not always easy to find - I have some bits and pieces up my sleeve for us overthe hols though

Ok, Dishwasher sorted. Washing machine on, and my bathroom cleaned from top to bottom. I cant face the master bedroom at the moment as it is a tip so I'll try and give the kitchen a general tidy instead.

Well I left the cake icing til DH went to work. The mixer would have been a tad noisy at 2am tbh

Ed is being, flaming annoying, expecting everything on tap while I bomb up and downstairs catering bto his every call. Got to the end of my rope and bawled him out left him to amuse himself and went downstairs to finish the cake.

The icing...well I followed Nigella's instructions to the letter and hell it is decadent in the extreme. A whole block of butter 2 bars of 70% chocolate and 1/2 a pack of icing sugar. I tried putting it onsmoothly and ended up with 1/2 left over and bald patches. After the Ed debacle I needed to chill so I just slapped the whole lot on with my fingers. At least I could lick my fingers after To use the whole lot it must be 1/4 inch thick in parts. Naughty naughty

So slow start tbh. Just wanted to get DH's extreme birthday fudge cake sorted. Other than that my done list is

hi all thinking of being flybaby but am unsure i am generally clean not tidy though have very messy dd 13mo and dp who acts the same age is messy too, my house is often a mess with washing toys crocks everywhere,

Well no point copying my list back out...got completely sidetracked by sorting out clothes!! All kids clothes now sorted and I've chosen some os Simplys now for DD1 (simply is the list you emailed me up to date?)

My next mission after lunch is the "Crap Drawer" in the kitchen...just tried to find the glue for the kids and the drawer is a nightmare!!!!!!!!! They are now happily cutting out and...sellotaping

Yep meandmy. You can also follow the 'Home Blessing' list too which is a general tidy up for the whole house each week. Once that is done it's just a case of spending 15mins here and there targeting specific areas in whichever room we are working in that week. The zones repeat every 5 weeks so you gradually work through all the rooms in the house. It does work

I usually follow all the missions but my house is being revamped at the moment so it's a bit impossible... just trying to do as much as I can do around the chaos
