Welcome to the thread where we (loosely) follow the Flylady housekeeping system here to combat CHAOS (can't have anyone over syndrome) with a load of Wine, chat and mutual support along the way. Quite a few of us have been on here for a while, so for that reason, we may seem cliquey, but we really aren't, and all newcomers, lurkers, returnees, regulars, and intermittent regulars are very welcome!

Every day I will post a link to the activities for "Today" which summarises everything you need on a daily basis if you want to follow the system strictly, but we tend to adapt it to suit our individual circumstances, homes and energy-levels!

Please note that, although Flylady is keen for us to check in to the website, we've recently had a few concerns wrt security, so although there is lots of useful info on the site, it's best not download it or put any of your personal details into the website for now.

More information on getting started available:
here (containing baby-steps!) but please don't hesitate to ask if you have any further qs.

There are 4 levels for Flying:
-Baby steps - good for starting a routine and overcoming the perfection crippling effect
-Baby steps and missions - basic routine + more in depth tasks
-Baby steps, missions, and deep cleaning (if you are at that stage).
You can't clean clutter so don't consider this one if you need the next level.
-Flying combined with a decluttering system (kondo/unfuck etc etc) let's be honest fly lady is good for routine but not so quick with the decluttering results sometimes.

There is NO wrong or right way of doing this, it is about adapting the system to suit your life circumstances, which will be different from someone else's, and don't be put off by the barftastically twee nature of the Flylady site, the underlying system is sound. Feel free to ignore any step or routine that doesn't suit you or your home! No perfectionism allowed!

And when it all gets too much: come and take a seat by the fire in our specially adapted "naughty" corner where you can enjoy virtual Cake and Wine and lots of support from fellow fledglings.

More info follows ( but again, please note we advise only looking at the pdfs and not downloading them ):

** launch pad (general info) here

** daily babysteps pdf (ignore the ones that don't suit you or your home) here

** week day missions (some fledglings find it easier to do them at weekends) here

** info about zones (explanation of how zones work) [[http://www.flylady.net/d/br/2017/06/11/please-explain-the-zones-6/
here]]

** weekly zones (a rough weekly guide to which area of the house we are tackling currently, again adapt to suit yourself) here

** daily focus (helpful guide to allocate a certain day for a certain task) here

** deep cleaning lists pdf (only attempt when you have decluttered as you can't clean clutter!) here

Oh and not forgetting "habit of the month" which for June is : drinking water!

Good luck and happy Flying one and all!

Good morning!

No exams today Zoo (next one tomorrow) so dd at home revising all day and no special catering required.

In fact, just dawning on me that I have to be ready to ship out for nine weeks holiday in a fortnight. All the stuff we need for wreck2 is no issue; it's getting this place ready to leave in a state where people can do various projects on it that's far more challenging

Wishing you strength for your very busy day ahead. I certainly hope it's not raining when you go to cahms Angry and hope meeting goes well. Hope Lil 'Zoo ok today too!

Whoo hoo I've that's so exciting!!!!!!! Hope all goes well and that you are in and out of that maternity hospital faster than a whippet! Grin. (Or you may prefer to stay in for a "rest"!) Bear

Either way, I'll be sorry to miss the big event! Hope you will be posting pics I can scroll back down to when tech is operating!

Singingcricket · 13/06/2019 08:29

Zoo I'll have some nicely warm and plump doggy poo bags that can double up as a father's day treat in an hour or so! Wink

Seriously though Angry sorry about the lack of a lift! I don't get the non-answering of texts either. What if there was an emergency with you or one of the DC?

Yes and no (re: renovations). Specific "bits" going on in the summer in our absence. Other specific "bits" going on at wreck2 prior to major bits! But more immediately, torrential rain has uncovered fairly major roof issue here which we thought we had already resolved twice (sigh). DH is coming back tonight and won't be happy as it will mean even more €€€€.

Morning all. Or afternoon I suppose. I’ve done bugger all. Woke up first but then went back to sleep once everyone else went to trampolining. Definitely needed that.

Yesterday’s park meet was good despite rain, I then went to the gym with a couple of friends in the evening.

Feeling spectacularly demotivated today, I hate Thursdays.

Stilllivinginazoo · 13/06/2019 13:10

Damn about roof SC
Cag at least you got out for a bit!!

Tada
Semi dried out
Sorted thru zoolets drawers in bathroom eliminating empty shower gel bottles etc and wiping up toothpaste and other leakages.

Spent nice time chatting D's and colouring to distract him prior to leaving for walk to camhs

I now sit in waiting room whilst he does his bit alone.waters start soaked thru waterproof coat.feet are wet..
Not relishing walk home(1hr thru an open space/park where wind drives rain at you)
then straight off on hour round walk for lil zoo

Dd2 just text me her last pens not working so be trip to shopsafter school as she has specific ones that last we'll have good grip and as bit dearer need be sure I getting right ones.quick check milk and bread supplies in need top up so guess save me a job tommorow!

Stilllivinginazoo · 13/06/2019 13:13

💦😩☔🌧️🖐️

No point in changing as heading out for school run. 😜

School sports day cancelled for second time. Football training almost certainly off tonight. Homeworks gone in....

Moooovie night so!!!

Singingcricket · 13/06/2019 14:37

Sorry to hear that Cordelia Flowers. Hope you are ok. Well done re: paperwork! Star

Congrats on fab, energetic, no nonsense, and very long list of things achieved I've! Star You deserve a medal doing all that when heavily pregnant! Be careful of your back!

Hope it went well for ds this afternoon at CAMHS today Zoo, sorry you got soaked through. I don't blame you for being so upset with your dp when he is so unsupportive. And it is unfair about the favouritism. I know it's good he spends time with ds, but it's very important girls get to spend quality time with their dad too. Bloomin' well done on another long list of chores achieved despite all the obstacles Star

You lot put me to shame as I have been dithering today and have barely started! Blush . Cannot seem to settle down to anything with builders about! They keep leaving the front door open for one thing when they fetch stuff and I am afraid of the dogs escaping straight on to road, so am effectively acting as door porter and keep being interrupted. One furry with poor eyesight very distressed about all the commotion! Anyway, that is my list excuses for today Blush.

Instead of giving up will try and follow Cag's good example and do one of her productive "late rallies" Grin

I've bought pudding rice to make a rice pudding and also Birds Trifle mix. Clearly having a nostalgia day.

Cagliostro · 13/06/2019 15:30

Late rallies? Nah I don’t think that’s me :o

I’ve still done nothing

Hugs cordelia always at the end of a PM if you need a MH related chat. Xx

TooStressyTooMessy · 13/06/2019 17:46

Cordelia Flowers.

Lisette, Clutterbug is onYouTube although she also has a website. I guess it depends if you like that sort of thing. I love her; she seems honest. I think she is influenced by Flylady - seem to remember SC telling me that? No flying as work today.

BrewFlowers for anyone struggling.

Lisette1940 · 13/06/2019 20:48

I'm a cricket Toostressy! House a mess now though. I love Clutterbug ❤️

There was indoor football training. Pah!

And we had trifle.

TooStressyTooMessy · 13/06/2019 20:57
