No delayed exit for clutter - March Flylady Thread 2019 for fledglings!

What would a combo of exit and clutter be, clexit? Exclutter? Perhaps we should just stick with declutter ....

Welcome to the March Flylady thread, we’d love to have you with us as we chat and work our way through our houses in March. Flylady uses the zone method of cleaning so we’ll be focusing on a different area of the house each week – we will post daily links to the Launch Pad on the Flylady website which gives all the details of the current Zone, daily missions and babysteps.

Newbies are always welcome so feel free to join in at any time. Flylady does recommend decluttering your house first, so if you are not ready for the cleaning routines yet it’s fine to focus on the decluttering bit – add the babysteps in if you wish.

I think I tried the home bleugh... once...

Ugh. Another week beckons.

I do feel good that we’ve got back on track quite nicely with the home ed though. It’s just everything else that is falling apart.

I was meant to do some batch cooking today but just felt too tired. Hopefully I can get on with some tomorrow. I mean today I have stuff for tomato pasta sauce (blended to hide veg), chilli for me and DH, and a sausage chorizo stew. Should stock up the freezer a bit.

Morning all

I've always, shall we say, been "creative" with the zone work. My house doesn't fit her zones. And I often ponder if the system would work better, er, if I actually followed it properly Grin.

I've if I had 4 dc and another on the way, I don't think I would have managed to look at Flylady's home page, never mind do any of the tasks.

Meet bed-making usually only happens once a fortnight here (I know that sounds slack but we are generally away 4 to 6 nights out of fourteen). And it's a family weekend activity.

Cag home ed far more important than dusting!

Hope you slept Zoo

So sorry about your uncle Foxes Flowers

Ta for link Chic

Interesting week (politically) coming up. Hope everyone has a good one!

Sanguineclamp · 11/03/2019 06:32

Cost Zoo so sorry, see didn't Brew

Sanguineclamp · 11/03/2019 06:33

I used to do the home bleugh but not in one hour just throughout out the day and I would alternate which beds I change as I change them fortnightly Blush , I also regularly ignored the polishing mirrors part. Whilst I hated doing it, it did make the rest of the week go smoother as the house just looked better. I might try again.

As for zones , they don't always work for my house either, my dining room is non existent it's just a table at one end of my living room for example. But it did focus my attention whilst at the moment I seem to be running around tidying in mad bursts and never actually getting anywhere!

I'll report back later! I also need to fit in a run after dropping the dc and then working so we'll see.

IVEgottheDECAF · 11/03/2019 06:58

Fuck matches anyone got a blow torch?

Meet0nTheledge · 11/03/2019 07:12

Bed making once a fortnight here too (ours one weekend, DCs the other). Part of my problem with home bleugh is finding time for it, I think I could do it in two hours but I rarely have two hours free during the week and weekends are very variable. We do have a joint family attempt at it on Saturdays sometimes but too often we forget and the jobs are just done as and when there's time.

Stilllivinginazoo · 11/03/2019 07:41

I've I believe SC has one.may I use it after you."d"p is annoying the cats so they trying trip me over and trying engage zoolets to be silly not get ready.aaaaargh
Oh and for some reason scrambled egg in a wrap with spinach and salsa results in slimy wrap at bottom end with liquid coming out

Eggs for lil zoo and D's made(he left most of his)
Soaked oats with cinnamon and apple for dd2 top almonds
Add cream cheese to roasted veg from last night for dd2 lunch.add remaining items required to lunch box
Make lil zoo sarnies etc
Refrain murdering dp,but only as that's an even bigger mess to add to the mess

Just realised bin day and half recycling not in bin

Morning all Smile

Not much chance of a home bleurgh here today. Governors meeting until 9 tonight - and i’m not doing it then!

Will try to have a tidy round the main bathroom though and there’s certainly plenty of clutter to go at!

Have a good day all

Pushmepullyou · 11/03/2019 07:50

Oh dear zoo, I hate it when that happens. Our bin has to be taken 100 m up a badly made track or the bin men won’t pick it up. I would never have moved here if i’d known!

To do
Get up!!!!

Cagliostro · 11/03/2019 08:05

Push welcome! :o

I should really start getting our own routine together, in flylady style but suited better to our own house and family needs.

Mmmm scrambled egg.

What’s UP done now ive

I’ve got a fucking cold AGAIN sore throat ears and untouchable headache. Still silver lining at least it means I’ll be fine when we go on holiday (little UK break 25-29th)

Sanguineclamp · 11/03/2019 08:21

As we are doing Lenten confessions, I have another one.

I am only now filling in the family calendar for 2019 Blush. Even for me, not getting to it until early March, is a bit crap.

Sanguineclamp · 11/03/2019 08:23

naighty is obviously naughty with a Scottish accent Confused

ChicCroissant · 11/03/2019 10:00

Morning all, I am eating all the food again today and not sure why.

Have got one load of laundry drying outside , another in the machine and have done some handwashing of dance items for tonight. Need to go out for an hour or two now, will wander around the shops and get a coffee - had a decaff one this morning already but now for the real thing!

I am lost without my calendar and diary, but need to get DD into the habit as well. We are entering a busy run-up to Easter now and I need to make sure that she is aware of things. I am noticing a tendency to lie about stuff which I want to stop immediately!

Catch you at lunchtime fledglings!

I took until the end of February to start doing our diary, but I haven’t opened it since. Just have a total mental block on it this year!

Home ed going well today and DH sorted a massive bill issue, I put a wash on and we put our clothes away so quite productive really.

I also made pancakes again but with raspberries mushed up instead of banana and they were quite nice. Needs something to sweeten though.

Sanguineclamp · 11/03/2019 13:16

That makes me feel not quite so bad Cag! I used to fill the calendar for year ahead in September before, but in the last few years it's got later and later. I blame menopausal "the world won't stop turning if I don't do this" thinking which I seem to be applying to rather a lot of chores recently. Paperwork especially.

foxessocks · 11/03/2019 13:27

I don't fill in my calendar very often tbh. I tend to write reminders on my phone for the important stuff anyway.

Ta da
School run
Went for a run
Couple of hours work
Collected ds
Lunch - sausages and spaghetti hoops for ds, cheese and ham toastie for me
Daily routine stuff - dishwasher, laundry, generally putting things back in right placesHmm

Just about to start home bleugh. Had made sure all floors clear so I can hoover, came down to find ds had upended all the toy baskets...this is why it takes me longer than an hour, flylady doesn't have this to contend with!! Right, off I go I suppose. Going to time each thing and spend no more than 10 minutes on each.

So

  1. Bedding and towels
  2. Mirrors
  3. Dusting
  4. Hoovering
  5. Mopping
  6. Bins

I hope that's it and I haven't forgotten anything it's been a while ...

Sanguineclamp · 11/03/2019 13:31

Meant to say that a large part also due to me making plans >dh work enforces changes to those plans> me altering plans to incorporate changes> dh schedule changes again>I give up. Less so now DD older and able to survive if both dh and I out of house but any plans I just make for myself during school hours don't tend to need to go on calendar ifyswim.

Sanguineclamp · 11/03/2019 13:38

Here it is Foxes home blessing hour or what we call home bleugh!
Good luck with everything!

I should be doing home bleugh (house really could do with it Mon and Fri) but I am still battling through boudoir. Laundry on. Kitchen under control. Calendar wip.
