Mercy · 31/05/2007 17:47

Erm, what do you want us to say Ceolas

ktmoomoo · 31/05/2007 17:48

your food shop similar to mine but i got 2 kiddies one wheat and gluten free so our food will slightly vary

Ceolas · 31/05/2007 17:48

Ok, I know it's not shopping on a shoestring. But, I would like to shave £10 to £20 off the bill over the next few months.

Get your fruit and veg from a greengrocer / market

do you need the individual yogurts for lunchboxes? I'd buy the large pots as they work out cheaper

Buy toilet roll in bulk from wholesalers

Eat less meat and substitute beans and lentils for several meals - you're eating meat for 6 out of 7 nights

HTH

Mercy · 31/05/2007 17:54

Ok.

I suppose you could buy juice instead of the Robinson's drinks, make your own burgers, make your own bolognese sauce, make your own gravy and eat less meat.

But tbh it sounds fine!

Enid · 31/05/2007 17:54

gravy granules [shudder]

Twiglett · 31/05/2007 17:55

what we doing health or cost or both?

ktmoomoo · 31/05/2007 17:55

wats wrong with gravy granules lol

Ceolas · 31/05/2007 17:55

I do use the yogurts for lnchboxes. They are on BOGOF this week

We don't have a greengrocer within about 8 miles. I wonder if Aldi would be cheaper?

OP posts:
Ceolas · 31/05/2007 17:57

It't not gravy granules! It's powder. OK what's the alternative?

twas initially on cost, but go on Twig, sock it to me!

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 31/05/2007 17:57

I was doing cost

was that the right brief?

I would have mentioned the golden syrup had I been doing health (I assume you are making flapjacks? Good money saver)

ktmoomoo · 31/05/2007 17:58

i used tesco gravy powder it ok wat else is there

Ceolas · 31/05/2007 17:58

yes syrup for flapjacks and treacle for gingerbread.

OP posts:
ktmoomoo · 31/05/2007 17:59

home made flapjacks yummy

Twiglett · 31/05/2007 17:59

wouldn't get gravy powder
wouldn't get bolognaise sauce - really easy to make
wouldn't get pre-made burgers - again really easy to make
would get bertolli spread (olivio) instead of the 2 types of marg you've got
you seem to have bacon in more than one place

Twiglett · 31/05/2007 18:00

would wonder why there's no chocolate

ktmoomoo · 31/05/2007 18:00

yum

Ceolas · 31/05/2007 18:01

oh the Dolmio? It's not for the spag bol. I use it on DD2's pasta when we have macaroni cheese.

making tomato sauce would be cheaper I suppose.

OP posts:
Enid · 31/05/2007 18:01

where aer you having your gravy?

Ceolas · 31/05/2007 18:01

can't use olivio cos it's got milk I believe

OP posts:
Ceolas · 31/05/2007 18:02
