TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 27/07/2018 21:51

Continued from first thread. A warm welcome to any newcomers and the naughty corner is stocked for the regulars. This is our thread where we try to follow the Flylady system a bit.

*
Here is the daily summary for Saturday (also available on the Flylady website at flight plan which should update automatically each day).

We are in zone 4 this week which is the bedroom or boudoir as we like to call it Grin.

However, it’s the weekend so no missions or zone work unless you want to.

Re. zones, do what works for you. I don’t always stick to the zones myself and do what works best at the time, with varying degrees of success!

Spend 15 mins decluttering, or whatever you can manage, in zone 4.

When you have finished decluttering, the detailed cleaning list (if you are at that stage) for Zone 4
is here.

daily focus

missions for the week

Flykids mission

July’s habit is swish and swipe which is a quick daily clean of the bathroom.

beginner babysteps.

Happy flying everyone.

Ah no Cag

MsForestier · 30/07/2018 10:20

Why have council said no now? ( If I understand correctly) can you appeal?

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 30/07/2018 13:31

That is rubbish Cag. I agree with MsForestier, if they said they would is it worth asking again / appealing if possible?

Ive, hernias are not my area sorry, would be a GP trip if you think you have one.

Having really lazy day here so hope it doesn’t backfire on me later. The girls are watching telly and they went through their holiday clothes to start planning what to pack. We have gymnastics later and they are going off to to an activity tomorrow morning so I think a lazy day is justified.

Ta da:-
Went through children’s books and now have a bag to give to charity / playgroup
Went through school work, decluttered the random bits of paper and have packed the exercise books away.

To do:-
Wash up from lunch
Call plumber as toilet flush dodgy
Male packed tea for gymnastics

Ta da
Swish and swipe downstairs loo
Daily routine
Dusted
Mopped
Changed towels, bath mats etc
Stripped bed
Emptied upstairs bins
Put dinner in oven - lamb chops, roast veg and green beans from the garden

No decluttering today just no time!

Cagliostro · 30/07/2018 17:57

Everyone is doing so well!

I'll look into exactly what they said but I think it's a case of miscommunication TBH. We aren't technically any worse off, I always thought we wouldn't get any back (although I assumed it'd be due to the state of the house so I'm pleased they were happy with that) so it's only that I'd had my hopes raised at the last minute.

Despite the setback in mood (time of the month too which didn't help) we have got a lot done, especially considering we are both really worn out. I am getting plenty of rest though don't worry, I am very aware that a flare up is a big risk due to the pain I'm getting hints of. So I'm chilling watching Simpsons :o but then getting up and doing a bit here and there.

I've spoken to the council about bins and the HA about that stuff in the attic, we've had a smart meter fitted, DH bought food for today and we've started a meal plan and shopping list for delivery. I swish and swiped the bathroom (with Method minty spray, so lovely) and I've got a wool wash on with all the winter gloves etc so I can put it away. We organised a bit more Playmobil and I've gathered some bits for the Caglets to put away later from some BRCs. Also amalgamated some less packed BRCs which meant I could get rid of some tubs (we still had some old trofast buckets which we've replaced, they are all piled up to go to the tip). We also cleaned the kitchen as a family! Well almost as the mop broke Hmm but it was lovely all pitching in.

Cagliostro · 30/07/2018 18:42

For the very first time I can say I just hung out washing IN MY GARDEN! I won't be normally but I wiped the garden chairs and lined them up by the fence where the sun is, and have laid out the gloves etc on them

Scoopofchaff · 30/07/2018 21:05

Hope you are not in pain I've.

Sorry about deposit Cag but sounds as though you have made loads of progress! It's my dream to be able to hang up washing outside in wreck2 (living life on the edge as ever!) but we don't even have wm here as yet!

Glad to hear you have had a much deserved easier day than usual Toostressy!

Very impressive list as ever Foxes! You are so consistent with your Flying!

Mixed day here. I still feel wierdly exhausted. Cooked a load of pasta in anticipation of Dd's boyfriend visit but he didn't come as planned because DD felt unwell after riding. She nearly threw up/fainted after dismounting. Don't think she had had drunk enough beforehand but could be a bug as she has looked peaky all day and seems v tired. She is growing again and looks so thin! Helped sil put together two temporary hanging racks. Hoovered back bedrooms. Bread, cheese, ham, salad, supper. More kitchen cleaning etc. Helped dh make beef casserole for tomorrow. Lay down with bad ovarian pain. That's it!

Somewhat fatigued wing flaps to everyone!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 30/07/2018 21:06

Woohoo for washing in garden Cag Smile. Very efficient to get home bleugh done and dinner ready after work foxes.

Not so efficient here! Things aren’t too bad as DH has made dinner but both kids only just going to sleep now as when I called the plumber he said he could come round tonight. So I said yes but it meant delaying bedtime (DH working late). On the plus side job not too big and he has quoted us and booked a date to come.

Xpost SC, hope your DD feels better soon. Definitely worth checking if she is drinking enough water.

And yes, so nice to have a more relaxed day!

Strangely I think I work better with less time Hmm I knew I had about an hour between finishing my work and dh getting back with the dc so I just ran round doing the whole lot when if I'm not working on a Monday I would do a little bit at a time and then be cross that I still wasn't finished by dinner time!!

Ta da
Put the food shopping away
Folded the laundry.
Told dh again to look at my beautiful folding and got his Hmm look again Grin

Cagliostro · 30/07/2018 23:31

I would really like to work well under pressure like that. To be an "if you want something done ask a busy person" type person!

As it is though I am finding the new cleaning regime extremely mentally challenging just as I always seem to be thinking about what to clean next. Hopefully it will gradually become ingrained.

I honestly can't describe how great it was when the gas man was here - he suddenly said he had to go and set up the screen thing in the kitchen. I hadn't realised he'd need to go in there (actual meter is under the stairs). But I didn't need to panic BECAUSE IT WAS CLEAN!!! It is all shiny and nice and literally for the first time ever I was happy to have someone see it!

Bowerbird5 · 31/07/2018 01:55

😄 cags

My neighbour walked in to my extremely messy kitchen for second time in a week re wandering Henny's penny. It was like a bomb hit it. I wasn't happy but has motivated me to clean it properly and keep tidy then encourage hen so she needs to come back and wet hey tidy kitchen. Hers is always tidy.
However I did have lovely smell of jam wafting.have made two double quantities of a different recipe which has set first time. Yeah!
Sorted a school bag. Did various other small jobs.

Scoopofchaff · 31/07/2018 05:37

Good morning all!

Whey hey re: home made jam Bower!

And whey hey re: conquering CHAOS (can't have anyone over syndrome) Cag!

Well it's 6.30 am here and I am off with horse cubes and grooming kit in hand (like my 17 year old self many moons ago) to see dhorse as DD is below par! Slept like a log (for once!) last night and all is chipper! Only downside: adjacent farmer has just fertilised his field with pig manure and the aroma is, shall we say, somewhat "invigorating" at this time of the morning Grin! Ah the joys of country life!

Looks like it is going to be another glorious day here! Have a good one everybody!

Scoopofchaff · 31/07/2018 05:39

Foxes agree time limits around choring so much more effective! If not, it never ends!

Scoopofchaff · 31/07/2018 05:40

Sorry, embolding fail there CAG!

Stilllivinginazoo · 31/07/2018 06:35

Arf at invigorating aromas SC
My sense of smell has sharpened to beyond a joke over last year or two and the two week old bins can make me retch on a school run,as can passing bin lorryn not sure how I'd cope with your predicament!!
Hope DD feeling better soon.take it steady if you are in pain

Cag it's lovely to hear your family kitchen clean and no fear of tradesmen going I to other rooms!

Foxes forgot to ask if DD enjoyed her home growngreen beans?

Well done on set jam bower

I was ripped from sleep half hour ago by rain slamming down to be quickly followed by thunderstorm.zooletsdont seem to have been disturbed by it tho!!

Action week at church,it's pampering this morning(nails and head massages)and defence classes pm.im volunteering in kitchen this morning,so need get sorted as have to be there at 8(booking in a junk food drop before start making cakes)

Is it really augusttomorrow already?!Shock

Bbl

foxessocks · 31/07/2018 07:22

She did thanks zoo ate the whole lot! We've got more picked now Smile

We had a storm too , I'm so glad we've finally had rain everything feels fresh again.

Cagliostro · 31/07/2018 08:10

I think we had storms or at least heavy rain overnight. I'm the only one awake now! It's our do nothing day but I'm totally itching to get up and unpack more and clean. I won't though as I promised! So it's a no fly zone today.

I would love to completely eliminate CHAOS. ATM it's only really the kitchen that is perfectly good although the bathrooms are decent too. Everywhere else can be explained with "we've only just moved so there are boxes everywhere" but how long can that excuse be used? A month? A year? 😂

IVEgotthePOWER · 31/07/2018 08:11

Morning all

Life and DC are getting in the way of flying

Still no start date for new job. Bloody DBS taking its timeeee. While waiting im being offered more interviews 😑 have turned down about 4 but accepted one later this week as it is much more £££!

Re my hernia queerie (sp) i have had a sore belly button for about 5 days now, sore to touch not when moving. I had one day when i bent to pick up a toy and had stabbing pain in my side, this kept returning but only on that day and not again since. I dont have any other symptoms so am leaving it for now.

Ta da

Washer on
Small two dc up and fed
Sent important email

IVEgotthePOWER · 31/07/2018 08:11

cag we moved 13 months ago and still have some boxes Blush

Cagliostro · 31/07/2018 08:16

:o We had some for years at the old house!

IVEgotthePOWER · 31/07/2018 08:20

I had such good intentions when we moved here from a house half the size. But really the crap has just expanded Blush

Cagliostro · 31/07/2018 08:43

Thats what I'm worrying about! Hopefully it wont happen but given we still have many BRCs I can't guarantee it 😳😳😳

IVEgotthePOWER · 31/07/2018 08:48

Just keep going! You sound like your doing great

I wish i didnt have CHAOS
