Flying high in July (or trying to!) part two - the Flylady thread

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 27/07/2018 21:51

Continued from first thread. A warm welcome to any newcomers and the naughty corner is stocked for the regulars. This is our thread where we try to follow the Flylady system a bit.

*
Here is the daily summary for Saturday (also available on the Flylady website at flight plan which should update automatically each day).

We are in zone 4 this week which is the bedroom or boudoir as we like to call it Grin.

However, it’s the weekend so no missions or zone work unless you want to.

Re. zones, do what works for you. I don’t always stick to the zones myself and do what works best at the time, with varying degrees of success!

Spend 15 mins decluttering, or whatever you can manage, in zone 4.

When you have finished decluttering, the detailed cleaning list (if you are at that stage) for Zone 4
is here.

July’s habit is swish and swipe which is a quick daily clean of the bathroom.

Happy flying everyone.

At least it's not you SC.

Scoopofchaff · 29/07/2018 14:00

Yes ,MsForestier wasps are certainly a hazard when it comes to plum picking!!

Dog is subdued/crotchety!

Honky You are very welcome Grin and any other fledgling who may be passing!

We think he ate a wasp Hmm and it stung him on the side of his tongue (at the front of his mouth thankfully) . We are keeping a very close eye ... but so far he is eating and drinking and breathing ok. He's just rather cross!

Agree Foxes there are certain visitors I don't mind staying at all! I think being a good guest is quite an art actually! (And that applies to close family too.)

I so sympathise with having decluttering boxes everywhere Foxes. Parts of wreck1 are covered in them as I had only partially finished decluttering projects (process slowed by extreme heat ) heat before visitor prep started. Good luck getting it all done and dusted! You have done brilliantly ploughing on with it!

Good luck surviving soft play Toostressy Gin and hope your dh feels better soon!

I've had to come inside and lie down for a bit while the boys play with tractors outside. Have energy levels of a slug currently. Off to faddle about in what passes as kitchen shortly. Everywhere needs thorough clean but need to take it slowly.

Also need to process plums! Have a whole carton full!

MsForestier · 29/07/2018 14:20

Didn't realise you were fruit picking. I'm so phobic SC I don't think I could go near a fruit tree. Fuschia I avoid too but they don't make a good pie!

Cagliostro · 29/07/2018 16:54

I have lost two posts today. In summary well done sc for being assertive, they were twatty and frankly ungrateful considering they were getting free holiday accommodation. Hope you can see the positives of the work done back at wreck 1.

Pottering at home today and decluttered a bookcase as my friend collected it (we left it till after the move so she could see the new house :o), in fact we were talking about how hard it is to have people round (I'm sure she would approve of the CHAOS acronym too), I think I will always struggle with impromptu visits due to not liking change/unpredictability but I would love to have this house visitor ready.

We are gradually getting there, need to do the second furniture order though as there's stuff we can't put away yet.

foxessocks · 29/07/2018 19:13

Hope your dog feeling better sc!

Cag it does take time to get sorted in a new place, you're doing great.

Ta da
I decluttered the craft cupboard!!! Managed to get all the playdoh stuff into one box. One box for beads, glues, pipe cleaners etc, one tin of pens, one of pencils and one of crayons, stack of colouring books, one box of stamps, some plain paper and a few other crafty type sets still in original boxes. I got rid of a bag full of pens, pencils and crayons which I'm giving to dd old nursery school. And loads of old craft stuff that was never used . And four pots of play doh that were dry and horrible.

I'm getting rid of so much stuff that I now have several big plastic boxes EMPTY and a small box that did have play doh in it that is empty. This is definitely why you shouldn't keep buying storage until you've decluttered Grin oops lesson learned!

Bowerbird5 · 29/07/2018 20:10

Lost a post too Cags and two Ta da lists weird!

Cags did you see the thread about the house move where they got there on the Saturday ( letting the people have more time to move ) only to find one of the bathrooms was missing😳

Try again
Ta da
Ironing
Some of the kitchen done
De cluttering
S&S and shower, need to empty bin.
Dishwasher

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 29/07/2018 20:25

Strange you both lost posts Cag and Bower. foxes Shock you are doing amazingly well. I might do kids’ books tonight. There is not much to get rid of through but I will try to be ruthless. Did also look through school exercise books for both girls - have a few that really can be recycled then could pack the others away. So that has freed up some space as they have been in a box for a week since they finished school. Thanks for the Gin SC. Actually I quite like soft play though Blush. The kids are old enough to go in on their own unless it is one of the super big ones so I can sit and drink coffee Grin. Getting a bit worried actually as DD1 is nearly getting too old for the standard size ones though. Waves to MsForestier and everyone else. DH going to have an early night so no excuse for me not to finish evening routine then declutter Confused.

Sorry everyone, have realised my link for the boudoir was wrong in yesterday’s links and possibly all of last week!

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 29/07/2018 21:45

Phones about to die but just checking in, I am exhausted and achy, think the last few weeks is catching up on me! I also meant to say earlier yay zoo about the kids playing together. Definitely easier with more space, I am finding this since we moved, having toys well stored is my biggest aim I think!

Stilllivinginazoo · 30/07/2018 06:44

You guys were busy yesterday

Sorry about furry SC my kits would deffo try eat a wasp.they consume moths and spiders they've "hunted" but not enough to stop cobwebs nor moth population still residing in kitchen cupboard
Foxes you are powering on!know what you mean about the stuff to leave piling up
I've agree that cuppa at mines more than enough.tend meet people elsewhere.my space is mine
Cag same!not easy getting toys etc all organised.house sounds like it's coming together

Well I got zoolets ready on time despite lil zoo having donut bun in,D's hair having mother of all knots in nape and then dd2 asking Dutch braids last minute!!
Tada(yesterday)
Fridge wiped out
Plan menu
Shopping
Sort cupboard trapped beside dd2 bed(dp around to haul bed out way.once rooms sorted go take doors off and use a curtain so it's accessable)managed cajoledd2 reduce her fabric stash from 6carrier bags to one, based on size remnants, types fabric and colours won't use(lady at church keeps giving her curtains, sheets etc) plus saved 3tshirts and a shirt that don't fit anymore and had planned to chop up for lil zoo as are in good shape and nice ones.lil zoo pleased as t shirts are in short supply at mo!!
Tip run-8 binbags plus some random bits n bobs!!there's a reuse and recycle stop but they don't take books, toys or soft toys so 2large carrier bags came back.think will see church wants them as at end road if not chazza and determined be on next couple days before they are retrieved and reintegrated by zoolets!!

Actually cooked hot food for dinner(pastA,green beans and pilchards with parsley for little ones.pasta with broccoli, green beans and tomatoes with cheese for me,dd2 and dp
he was on vest behaviour yesterday and did apologise zoolets and was very good with them, helpful to me and generally nice to be around.we shall see if it lasts!

Today off to CBT,had cancel two apps as I was unwell then D's dropped(btw he's almost full power now!can colour, draw, watch TV and walk about 20nins before starts feel wonky!not been on Xbox in 31/2 weeks!!I've said once can make an hour(not long walk for us) he can have a short go at Minecraft...

Right enough of my essay, need get up n crack on

Scoopofchaff · 30/07/2018 07:02

Good morning all!

Zoo that is so great that your ds is on the mend!

Dog officially recovered last night; so much so he caught another baby mole (eugh) and had killed it in under 2 seconds.

Scoopofchaff · 30/07/2018 07:27

Good morning all!

Zoo Great list of achievements there! That is so brilliant that your ds is on the mend; he's had such a rum do poor lad! Terrific he is feeling better! And great your dp is being helpful again!

I also lost a post yesterday but I think it was because this tablet thing ran out of juice!

Cag it is lovely to think of you pottering about enjoying your new home! Smile. I am certain you will have your house visitor ready in no time! But go steady X. Hipe achiness diminishes today. And thank you; that is actually a productive way of thinking about sibling situation!

MsForestier at least fuschia pie would be colourful Grin

Dog recovered well yesterday and has learnt his lesson about chasing bees and wasps I think! We went for a long walk in swirly hot winds across several fields yesterday, being almost swooped on by house martins who were taking advantage of the thermals, and furry caught another baby mole and killed it in about 2 seconds (eugh again). He isn't usually so successful at mole hunting; so I reckon the heat must be bringing them to the surface!

Ta da from yesterday:
plum picking
sorted and re-washed all cutlery in wreck2
cleaned kitchen surfaces
glass recycling
church
barbecue supper of fresh sardines, green salad, tomato salads

Waves to Toostressy and Bowerbird and everyone else!

HonkyWonkWoman · 30/07/2018 07:37

Morning......
Good news that ds is getting better again Zoo.
Glad dog was ok after wasp sting sc and yuck at the baby mole.
Dd invited me over for Sunday Meal as everyone was home, (Dgdtwin1 back from boyfriends in Cambridge and twin 2 back from working at Uni over hols).
Dgs10 arrived covered in mud from head to toe and regaled us of being chased by a farmer with a shotgun and having to slide down through the woods on their bottoms.(great imagination). He'd gone out in white trainers and Dd was going to throw them but I think I can save them (at least for playing out).

Ta da's not much yet
Fed 🐱 and 🐕
Empty Dw
Soak trainers

To do
Nothing major, just tootling round.

Happy Flying dear Fledglings

Scoopofchaff · 30/07/2018 07:38

Sorry for double post there! Not sure what happened!

Glad to hear soft play not too onerous Toostressy!

Off to pick up DD from riding dhorse now.

To do later today:
clean and hoover and tidy sitting room (shut bedroom doors firmly Wink)
clean bathroom and lavs
hoover hall
put up hook rack
erect clothes hanger things
clear corner courtyard
clean up kitchen again
collect dd's boyfriend from station (if he gets back from holiday in time)
cook pasta lunch
poss make cake or biscuits

Another glorious day here! Have a good one everybody!

Bowerbird5 · 30/07/2018 07:38

Morning.

Great to hear DS is improving Zoo. That is a lot of de cluttering. Mine had awkward to get to cupboard in small bedroom. We had single then bunks in there and curtain to pull across. I put track rail on. Then to tart it up I made bunting add velcrode it above on the cupboard. Much more accessible. I had baskets in but now have Really Useful boxes at base as it is now my craft room. BUT I don't go in because it is such a mess. DD has promised to help de clutter it. A bit rich seeing as I walked into her room and struggled to see the bed. She has come home to live after 9 years away.

Glad the furry is better SC yuk about baby mole.
Don't worry about link Toostressy. It made me clean my boudoir and it seriously needed it.
Living room easy can do that in one day.
Dining room needs doing as table full of sorting clutter.

Going to make jam today. Should have done it yesterday but too lazy. All prepped last night and ready to go this morning when I hope to have more energy. Might ask GP to do bloods as very tired but it could be medication.
Right off to take DD to work.

Scoopofchaff · 30/07/2018 07:43

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 30/07/2018 07:54

Cagliostro · 30/07/2018 10:16

Ploughing through the to do list today but feeling rather deflated as we aren't getting most of our deposit back, not due to the house itself (we cleaned it up well and virtually all that was left was wear and tear) but due to the contract they get another month's rent and council tax out of us, we had been told by the

Cagliostro · 30/07/2018 10:17

Oh ffs

Told by the council that they would pay HB to help where there was an unavoidable overlap in rent, but they have now said no. It's ironic as for years I've not expected to get any back at all but I had just had a glimmer of hope of it and now I'm sad and need to snap the hell out of it
