Hello all - welcome to our February thread for 2018. Everyone is welcome and it's never too late to join in. We are decluttering our homes and keeping them clean and tidy(ish) as well as having some general chat as well.

We follow the Flylady method, and will post links daily to the missions via the Flylady website. For more information, have a look at www.flylady.net/

Here's to a fun February for all of us (with the occasional prod from the pointy stick of motivation and visits to the naughty corner Cake Brew Wine ) Grin

Half term aka Cellar Camp Week

Steamcloud · 09/02/2018 13:44

I hear you Cotswold my intentions are good; but my follow through is very slow going ATM. Everyone needs a slow morning once in a while though so don't be too hard on yourself.

Hope your dd can recover totally over the holidays. DD has decided to stay at school for the whole day today so I am hopeful that means she is feeling better.

I also meant to thank you for "starting" article - v interesting indeed!

I am here because

(a) car has sprung a problem so departure delayed and

(b) to tell Afresh that there is a thread made for you in chat with Weetabix in the title!! Grin Sorry can't link atm as out and about! Enjoy! Well, enjoy is probably wrong word, but be reassured you are not alone!

Afreshcuppateaplease · 09/02/2018 13:47

sc i have already posted on it Blush

Steamcloud · 09/02/2018 14:00

Ha! You beat me to it Grin!

Cagliostro · 09/02/2018 15:50

An everyone fed no one dead kinda day here and the fed bit will likely involve ordering something. 😳

I am tempted to ditch ballet but they are getting their costumes today (and have been given very short notice to provide a garment bag, which will have to wait until half term as I don’t own one!) and besides, today will mean we have made the entire half a term with 100% attendance at all clubs (well tomorrow is ballroom but DH covers that anyway). And I’m pretty chuffed with that.

Fuck all motivation here.

ta da so far
✅made it downstairs
✅eaten too much rubbish
✅put a wash on
✅spellings/sentences and maths (DH did some stuff on Olympics/SK with them this morning)

Ugggggh 😡😡😡

Afreshcuppateaplease · 09/02/2018 16:54

I'm off next week think I will move into zoo's house. Yummy meals! Pea and watercress mmmmmmm.oh dinner did you read the dinner menu. I thought I was doing ok with M&S sole, sweet potato and ordinary potato oven fried, carrots.

Ta dahs.
Caught bus.
Went for cup of tea but they were doing breakfast and tea for £4.99 and I forgot it was Friday. Ate the lot so it did for lunch as well. Wrote GP a card as no appointment even though I told them hospital said I was to see him before weekend. Left it at GPs with hospital letter.
Went to M&S and bought fish, shepherds pie and spatchcock chicken. Would have liked more shopping but had to carry it. Walked through Cathedral grounds where it was covered in snowdrops. Lovely.
Slowly walked the mile to school luckily it was a beautiful day and I had loads of layers and new scarf to keep me cosy. Gave in paperwork from GP and had short chat. Collected car drove to friends but she was out. Came home and slept for hour. GP phoned me and had good chat and asked him lots of questions. He is so lovely. He really cares and went through lots of things and admitted he isn't convinced that hospital is right so keeping options open and if I get that pain again said not to hesitate ringing him and he will see me. I said I didn't want to access A&E again so he said " just ring me." Bless him. Feel better as I got a bit worried and teary last night.
Son 2 had left message and came over tonight. He has been in Newcastle and London for three days with work.😳 he got logs and coal in. Stayed for tea.😄

CotswoldStrife · 09/02/2018 23:41

I didn't catch up tonight and should limit my comments having already started on the Wine otherwise it could end badly Grin

I'll post the links - again, I'm supposed to be out tomorrow morning but now have some doubts about the event so I'll let you know! If it goes ahead, I'll be back by lunchtime-ish.

fresh I had to explain the cellar camp week because that made me snort with laughter. The advantage to having an only - no bickering. The disadvantage - you're expected to play. I'm guessing that the Wii will be featuring with the Winter Olympics game next week.

Wondering if cotswold got to bed before midnight as per the plan... I evidently haven’t quite managed it today, but just heading to sleep now so only a few minutes out. I got an email about trampolining so decided to strike while the iron was hot, will probably regret that in the morning but at least it’s a big part of it done.

Ended up taking the Caglets out for dinner which was really lovely. Chatted about history and science the whole time. DS has come up with a name for the chemical element he’s planning to discover when he’s grown up. :o

Still getting fuck all done in a practical sense. But admin is good. It’s quite shocking how much mental space my procrastination takes up really. Like how many times a day would I be thinking to myself “oh crap, I really need to sort x” and getting anxious about it, and how much do those little stresses add to my overall stress? Sometimes I feel like tackling that is more important than the house. But then I also remember how much C.H.A.O.S. and S.T.U.F.F. are impacting our lives too. Big sigh.

Anyway.

ta da continued
✅made it to ballet in ample time despite epic laziness during the afternoon
✅daily focus - really half arsed attempt, basically I just grabbed rubbish/receipts from the buggy/bag and put money from there into the cash pot. But it was that or nothing today.
✅rescued some non tumble stuff from the WM. Didn’t even bother transferring the rest to the dryer. 🙄😳
✅sent some emails about trampolining
✅huge amount of diary filling for trampolining, have now got all dates for the next 13 months. Just need to write final emails demanding money from the other parents and emailing the right dates to the right people. Eep. But it’s mostly sorted so yay! I’m really pleased I did volunteer to do it now. I mean I pretty much had to as no other bugger would 😂 and it was stressful because I didn’t realise how quickly it all needed to be sorted. But I’ve proved to myself I can do it so that’s quite a boost.

Right really must try and sleep now.

Bowerbird5 · 10/02/2018 02:31

That is brilliant Cags you have worked hard.

Great making it to ballet too. It is difficult juggling all the balls and I think you are doing marvellously. Believe it or not I can remember how difficult it was trying to accommodate the siblings and the new baby.

Stilllivinginazoo · 10/02/2018 05:59

cag good work.and the I love that D's has picked a name for the element he plans to discoverGrin

Callmecordelia · 10/02/2018 06:53

Morning!

Just wanted to add to the chorus - Cag, you're doing a great job. I can relate to the procrastination/perfectionist thing, and it's so great that you're getting through it. I also wanted to let you know that I had my Birth Afterthoughts appointment yesterday, and it was a very positive experience. I know that DS will be two next month and it was a while ago, but that was actually good - everything had settled a bit. I got answers to the questions I had, and the midwife is going to write to the consultant who was so awful and I should get an apology. That's a win for Fly Lady and anti procrastination day - I had thought about calling them for a while and I'm so pleased I did.

Bower how are you feeling this morning?

Brew for Afresh! I need cup number two. DS up three times in the night. First day of half term though, and we don't need to rush anywhere.

To do
Laundry
Something fun yet cheap with the children

Callme feeling much better but I haven't got out of bed yet. Foggy head seems to have lifted and feel like I might have a bit of energy. Thank you for asking. Really need to get up and get cracking.
Will attempt first three. Then pop back.
Afresh glad DD is feeling a bit better. It does make you feel a bit grumpy I had been too. According to DD and DS2 last night. I have said I will in future try not to moan about the fact I haven't heard from them for the last three or four weeks. That will be an effort.
