Yay for coat! Nope not got mine yet still going round in holey shabby thing. I haven’t had time in town though, I hate buying clothes online so would rather do it in person.

Starting the morning (after an okish night) looking for plumbers - toilet is flushing but is very stroppy about doing so 🤔 and I want it sorted before it refuses altogether thank you very much) and trying to find current number for landlords. FFS. Happy Sunday everyone 🙄

And I need to do my tax return. I know it will be very simple, I have the figures and everything, so why have I left it so late. DH needs to phone HMRC tomorrow too which is a scarier thing.

I hate today already. I may hide in the haughty corner. I have rocky bars and liebniz biscuits.

Bowerbird5 · 28/01/2018 08:49

Well you would be classed as normal in my set of friends zoo! But then if you met my set of friends.... So maybe normal is the wrong word and what I mean is ... " my sort of people!"

You are definitely my sort of people. I lurked for about six weeks and thought Yep I like these people. It was just before Cagletini was born.
I think it is time we had another squidgy photo of that darling baby😊

I have some lemons that need using up so that is why. I do a good coffee cake. Teenagers used to come and beg me to make it. I kid you not. Nearly every week! It didn't last the weekend. Right better get out of here and do it. Stayed in bed and made tea then had another. I have a Kenwood now so by the time oven is hot it will be done. Ingredients ready. Some out on worktop. Then onto the ginger cakes recipe kindly provided and I have some crystallised ginger left so think I will chop and add that in. Love ginger. I just eat it from the packet. DD used to work part time for H&B so used to know when all the offers were on. Plus discount. I was never without ginger those days. Let you know tonight how they go.

Bowerbird5 · 28/01/2018 08:51

Only one more thing for you list Cags three thing rule on Sunday's and rest!😃

Cagliostro · 28/01/2018 09:14

Well if you insist, Bower 😄😚
TBF DH is doing most of the plumber finding. Laundry is my main aim in the house.

Oh thank you, oh isn't she a poppet. Look at those big eyes watching what I going on. She looks so serene asleep I don't believe you when you say she screams. No way , you're fibbing ! Grin

Well sponge cake is in. It is now going to be a Victoria because I was listening to Love Songs ( don't know why as it depresses me. DH ! Say no more!) anyway I put the lemon zest in got distracted and realised half way to tin I hadn't put lemon juice in. Anyway easier to transport....aaaarrrghh! DS 1 hasn't brought my cake thingy back! Tins I have tins. Whew! Only just bought tins as a present to self after scary dental treatment. Shop was across the road and had Chicken tins! Had to have them. So came up for recipe pmed kindly from zoo and checked in so glad I did.
Little Cagletini how cute are you. Pity I am not cuddling distance I would whisk you off for you're mummy to have some rest. I love pushing prams.
Right off to make the ginger ones. Mmmm kitchen will smell gorgeous.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 28/01/2018 10:45

I started on this thread before dc4 was born although not sure how long before! foxes was pregnant though so ive been here 18months+

Stilllivinginazoo · 28/01/2018 11:43

Oh my goodness cag she's positively edible!!
There's a saying in my house that a beautiful baby is delicious and it kinda evolved to pop it in a baguette with a bit of ketchupConfusedif dd2 and I see a cutie out shopping she says in loud voice "fetch the baguette quickly" which always causes odd glances......
Disclaimer we don't really eat babies!!

Tadas

Everyone fed
Need clear up
Need tidy my bedroom surfaces
Washings trickling downstairs

DS still not eating.lil zoo has fever, glands in throat up and bit sore throat.shes in isolation playing with her ponies as I don't want her giving anything else to DS and whilst he's faint he has to be closest to me.luckily she spends lots time play upstairs her ponies, and has her tablet do she's not remotely bothered😀

Stilllivinginazoo · 28/01/2018 11:52

bower this threads full "my kind of people"
I first "moved in" in 2010 I think n mooch year or two.Bessie at and carrotandcelery ran it back then.there was a thread for those that posted their tadahs who were organised and just doing deep clean/zones aNd the babysteppers thread.carrots went on to develop homemade jewellery and Bessie went back f/t .I fell off wagon and when I returned it was gone.luckily they had become quite good friends and we are friends on FB.bessie had another baby couple year ago but she had moved on from MN.it wasn't such a vipers nest when I first started hanging out....

Anyhoo one day after another big gap I was mooching n spotted babysteppers and thought I'd pop back.moved in and haven't left.dont remember all the originals, just greymaulkin and dogsbum (apologies anyone from that era still here my memory's horrendous for names!!)I've fully moved in now, bought my own haughty corner and everything!!Grin

Cagliostro · 28/01/2018 11:55

😂
Well I’ve done sod all except try to log in to HMRC but I forgot I needed my phone, so am charging it to do later. Oops.
DH did all the washing up (more than usual due to visitors) and has put another wash on.

Cagletini turned 3 months on Thursday 😱😱😱 she’s growing up too fast. No longer requiring constant cuddles, a couple of times it’s actually seemed like she was crying due to boredom (cheered up as soon as we put her on the playmat for a wriggle) 😭😭😭 nice to have my hands free a little more but also she’s growing up too fast. Making the most of the snuggles.

Stilllivinginazoo · 28/01/2018 12:12

Where did that 3 months go cag?😱

foxessocks · 28/01/2018 12:29

That's right I joined when I was very pregnant with ds as I was in full on nesting mode and feeling motivated then I had ds and stayed on the thread but did very little flying for some time! Ds is 17 months now Shock where does the time go?! He is still just as cute and squishy as he always was though.

cag lovely photos!

I'm just sitting the car with a crying ds while dh and dd have poppedinto the shop...probably buying loads of stuff we don't need if I know them Hmm

Bowerbird5 · 28/01/2018 13:35

Thanks zoo it is interesting to know how it started and I am very glad you came back. You're kids sounds a hoot. Right up my street. I love the out of the box thinking kids even some of the staff. Don't understand them. Some of them don't fit it but they are all the quirky ones I love and they know it. They drop in to see me. In fact sometimes I don't get lunch because I keep getting drop ins and next thing I know it is 1 pm! I am just waiting for oven to warm up as no ginger glaring down south west England where DD lives.she must have used it all when here at Christmas because there was lots left when I made Christmas cake. Anyway the good old Co- op has come to the rescue after Mass. Also 4 tins of Baxters soup for £3 for store cupboard. And I just happened to fall into the fish / tinned meat aisle and guess what I have for this weeks menu?
I gathered some squidgy people were toddlers but nice to know how old I like to picture them sleeping / screaming. I would like some Grandchildren now but thinking I will be waiting a long time so share best friends and if mum and dad are working shifts and nana is at school and granny at work then I am asked especially on my day off. Had the little one from six months. Just a couple of times but lovely that they trust me. Daddy was my fourth boy. Right oven ready and the dry and wet ready to mix. I made some coffee ones before Mass. So I will be popular bringing all that cake. I now have raspberry jam for Victoria sponge and some cream to whip and add. Well it would be rude not to wouldn't it!
See you later tonight. Not too much flying it is Sunday. These steroids are finally working I'm bursting inwardly!

HillsBesideTheSea · 28/01/2018 14:35

I remember the original fledglings. The fledgling thread was started for those that could not keep up with the TA da flying thread that zoo described. It was a loooong time ago now. It has been a good thread. Miss some of the old regulars but that is life people move on.

Eh? (Genuinely intrigued!! Grin)

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 28/01/2018 18:45

Hello all,

Kids in PJs here and I am exhausted. They just don’t tire in the day and I am at a loss. We have been out shopping and then out for lunch (which actually went well) then for a walk then the park for 90 mins and then walked home. Then they helped make tea. Still not tired. Thankfully I have told them it is the end of the day and it will be bedtime soon! I know a trampoline is the answer but we don’t have room. Will have to google or start some kind of star jumps on the hour regime Hmm.

I joined this thread about 18 months ago and have found it so supportive and helpful. Best part of Mumsnet Smile. My two girls are 7 and nearly 5.

Bower, your kitchen must have smelt amazing today with all that baking. Glad you got the coat Afresh. Cag, gorgeous pics Smile.

I am also intrigued about the names thread Hills and SC although of course it is none of my business!

foxes, I remember you joining, how is your DS 18 months ShockSmile?

Still loving the haughty corner zoo Grin.

Big wing flaps to all. Will be back with links later.
