Morning.

Tomorrow is December 1st which means roll call for the fledglings and shiny new thread. It might seem a bit clicky but it is because it is a long term thread, park your arse in the naughty corner for moral support, natter and various delicious goodies. Oh and smidge of housework too.

We follow the flylady system HOWEVER we adapt it to suit the circumstances of our lifes and sometimes we ignore the slightly more fluffy/bonkers babysteps --because we can and there ain't no one the boss of us

It is funny but it seems to be a depressing sort of day for everyone so don't think you are bringing thread down. Sad memories often surface at this time of year, people that we miss and wish were here, all the past Christmases, some happy, some sad.

Cags see you said you hadn't got much done this week not surprised if Caglitini is putting on that much weight and no wonder you have lost some. Brilliant feeding. Might be an idea to get some Floridix to keep energy levels up next week. Someone bought me some for baby 3 and it gave me a boast when I started to dip. She said it was a funny present but it turned out to be one of the best.
Sorry to hear about DSCs nan. Sad time for them.

zoo Oooh tricky age. Maybe try some social stories about other people and friendships. There might be some suitable ones on net otherwise write some yourself. Discuss and get DC to think about how it could be solved, by solving others problem it helps them to understand with lots of discussion. Is there any nurturing at school? SEAL groups?
Sofa storage is great unless someone else moves the sofa. I need very pointy stick aimed at my bottom because I am sitting on mine surrounded by mess. Don't feel great today. Peak flow down to 300 and couldn't get through to GP this morning can't be bothered to ring again as I don't want to drive to town. He will be at other surgery on Thursday off tomorrow so might ring later and see if I can get phone app. Or if he can see me on Thursday am as surgery closer and means I don't have to go to town.
Not many Ta Das either.
Washing up done.
Recycling out.
Cake waiting to be made.

Presents for women's refuge wrapped and will take tomorrow or Thursday.
Found tree base. Dragged tree inside. Tried out loads of turns think it is ok now. I have put it on a box as it looked a bit small. Need to drag decs out of shed. DH took them down from loft before he left. I just can't get interested. I loved decorating the tree with the kids.
I've lost the paper I was using for family presents. How can I have lost it? And the cards. Guess they are together. No recollection of where I put them.
Ta da on the films though on second one. Probably not what I should be doing but nice to relax.
Leaves cake and truffles in naughty corner.

zoo a diagnosis is helpful for outside help but if you think she is ASD/Aspie then the book is good without the diagnosis because it explains the logic behind thought process and why/how it differs and gives some information about tips and tricks for surviving in an NT world. And tbh the info is stuff that an ADHD who struggles socially would find it useful which is why i think it is a good resource. IME diagnosis is useful but the process is drawn out and so under funded even if you were to go down that route if you suspect she might it may well be worth just finding out the tips and tricks and hints you can now as a lot of the time you will be on your own after diagnosis. Diagnosis is mostly helpful for dd to understand why she is not like others and that she is not the only one in the situation, and also for officialdom.

Ds was a whole lot less distressed and more at peace once he got his diagnosis. So for us it really was worth the fight to get it.

Also don't be surprised if you get an unexpected reaction from social stories ds kicked off when we tried to use them. We had more success using the big bang theory as a 'model' and tool to discuss interactions between people. Keeping it very 3rd person and not possible to link back to her situation could be essential depending on her personality.

Hello. Flowers to those who are feeling Sad owing to past, recent, or current bereavements. Christmas can be a very difficult time of year.

Nothing much to report today. I haven't felt well. Dh is flat out with work. Dd doesn't have to be in school until Friday and is planning her party on Thurs, expects me to drive her everywhere, but has been most reluctant to help out with anything else Hmm.

Great lists everyone!

Zoo so sorry to hear your dd is struggling with friendships etc (although "friends" don't sound very nice). No advice but hope it can be resolved happily for her.

Afreshturkeyplease · 19/12/2017 20:19

zoo your wrapping pile sounds similar to mine. I have so far used four rolls of selotape ....

Cagliostro · 19/12/2017 20:25

We wrapped the bulk of it in one night but have to wrap DD's beam tonight as it has a sticker on describing the item!

As usual I have flagged a bit this evening but pleased I managed to do dinner and made the Caglets have a bath.

Afreshturkeyplease · 19/12/2017 20:25

How big is said beam?

Cagliostro · 19/12/2017 20:27

It's an 8ft one that folds in half, plus packaging! Arrived this evening :o

Cagliostro · 19/12/2017 20:49

Right so Caglets still need their hair drying but I have sorted laundry while feeding baby. Phew

FlyingJellyfishInTheAttic · 19/12/2017 21:30

Hi everyone sorry for being absent from the thread have been on holiday and things here are bit stressful. Seem to be getting into control of it now though but it has taken over a bit.

Zoo I'm sorry about your DD. How is she doing now?

I hope everyone is doing well with Flying.

Today I have caught up with washing and tidied entire upstairs. DH has done dishes and kitchen.

We took DD to see Santa for the 1st time and it was amazing. They do a 30 min trip to Santa as part of it (take a "train", collect ingredients for the elves to make magic Gingerbread men and walk through a "forest" looking for plants and animals). Mrs Claus gives them the Gingerbread man they "made" and they get a token which allows them to but a toy in Santa's workshop. It was so lovely and we all loved it.

I am working tomorrow so plan is to clean bathroom and keep on top of laundry. Friday DD in nursery so going to clean and clear whole of downstairs and big declutter. Also need to finish DD presets (just some sweets to get now) and wrap.

Callmecordelia · 19/12/2017 22:17

No grandparents now and sisters don't bother. One abroad I have Diary and calendar for which needs posting.i meant to do it before but couldn't find it in safe place!

So have tree up and decorated first time I have done it on my own a bit weird.
Some other decs up but not all. I put some on the inglenook.
Tidied and vacuumed twice.

swish sink
Made third cake. This is getting silly.I also wrap presents Christmas Eve and have last minute panic.
Made lovely supper.

Didn't get floor washed but will tomorrow.
Not been 100% today, tired and wheezy. Think i should have spoken to GP but DH phoned and by time he went surgery will have been closed. Quite day has helped.Feel relaxed. Just waiting for cake then off to bed.
Some great work achieved by fledglings todaySmile

Longtime · 20/12/2017 00:53

Sorry to hear about dcs’ Nan Cag, dd2’s troubles and the loss of your df zoo. It would haven been my df’s birthday today - this is our first without him. It’s also my db’s birthday so we still had a family meal but it was so strange without df there.

The only tadas today were food making related with a little bit of presents wrapping thrown in. Oh and trying to find out what has been happening to df’s eBay and Amazon accounts (I look through his emails when I’m back to unsubscribe to things and someone managed to hack into his Amazon account and attempted to hack into his eBay account). No financial harm done as we cancelled the credit card on there when he died but scary to think it’s possible to do.
