Here are the baby steps for all new FLY babies. The first (and only one I ever really did) is to shine your sink

Lol at verygrubbyFTO! I mostly only ever shine my sink too - and then not with all the bottles of bleach etc that FL recommends! I often look at the missions but don't very often manage to do them ...I hope I still qualify to be on the FLY thread?

I probably won't be doing any FLYing today cos I'm off to work for the best part of the day. Have to do some ironing though before the pile topples over so may do that this eve...but may not, we'll see how the day goes

Now I am confused! Does that just mean you are a fish tank owner who hasn't cleaned their tank yet!? Or has sparkling changed again?

I spotted who sparkling was straight away! I can tell by the tone of her posts (does that make sense?) Have to say though...tis very unusual for me to have any clue what is going on!!

Well, I have guests this weekend so will be doing minimal FLYing....kids have a party today, and we have to go and buy our first fish!!! YEY!!! (I just hope they don't all die ...my brother said its very difficult for the first couple of months apparently....new tank syndrome or something??)

Hi Luda we've had fish in the past and they do suffer from shock in a new tank - I really liked watching them swimming about, very relaxing, but hated cleaning them out! We now have a 9mth old kitten though so the two don't really mix...

I would say about a month at least....each week there is a different zone of the house to concentrate on...once the zones have gone full circle you'll start to see the difference. You get into habits pretty quickly too though...you'll notice after a while that little habits like shining the sink...loading the w/m etc. you do without even thinking...

Hi McCadburysDreamyegg (loving the Easter name!) I joined in about Nov/Dec and do now find I keep things together on the housework front much better than I did in the past - even when all the jobs build up it never seems to phase me quite as much as it would have 6mths ago I don't do a lot from the FLY site but do like the motivation/chat from the group here which really helps the mundane chores pass more easily

shouldbe I don't suppose you know when I am supposed to be putting the light on in the tank do you??? Its a fresh water tank...with a light and a filter...and I bought plants yesterday...is the light meant to be on at night?? Is the light for the fish...or the plants???

Thanks! I seem to have so many "hotspots" (I think they're called) that I'm starting to think it's the way ahead! Of course if I could just stop coming onto mumsnet so much I could get so much more done

erm .....just trying to remember Luda...we did have a light...and a filter and some bubbles which ran all the time...not sure the light was there for any other reason except to make it all look pretty

Lol!!! I have started using MN as a "reward" type thing I try to get certain things done quick...then go on MN a bit. I have to say though...I love this thread so much, I don't spend that much time on the Active convos really...unless I'm having a real "can't be arsed" day...then I'll sit on MN for hours LOL!!!

lol McDreamy I sometimes wonder if I'd get more done if I'd never discovered MN - but it does just cheer me along my way...I'm not naturally a very domestic person (although I can't deny I'd like to be!) so having MN to break up the time is a big help (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it )

DD1 wants a gold one with white on its middle....DS wants a gold one (I'm just hoping they are all still there...or similar ones anyway!!!)
