Are you are any of the following? Can you be described as a clutterbug? Are you a hoarder, in a mess, untidy, disorganised, lazy with housework that has lead to something that you now feel unable to deal with. If you are ill and not coping with the housework. If you are emotionally attached to items for whatever reason. If you cannot just ask someone in for a cuppa at a moments notice or dread the meter reader asking for access.

Are you nodding whilst reading any of these words? If you have a combination of any or all of these things or something completely different, please join us. No one here will judge you. We have something in common and we have a common goal. We share our ideas and we share our disappointments no matter how big and our celebrations no matter how small. We cheer one another along and drag the drowners from the depths of despair.

Join us; we don't bite :) Welcome to thread number 3.

Dare I say it? The house looks almost... Tidy!

Massively pleased with us. Our bedroom is by far, far the worst, but that's the next room to target.

One thing that's helped was buying those storage tubs from poundshop of all places. Sure, they're plastic, but it really helped organise the kitchen.

Built a couple of shelves and we'll add even more. Added a storage unit for the bathroom.

And took a ridiculous amount of DS's old clothes to charity shop. Old toys next.

Oooh! I'm envious CC :) but, well done!

Hi all, how's it going? I got a little bit done yesterday. Still loads to do and I seem to have the cold virus that's going around.
Any more successes? :)

Babieseverywhere · 19/11/2017 19:24

I have a cold too and determined to paint my living room before Christmas !

Cagliostro · 19/11/2017 19:37

Things are getting very cluttered here! It's not as bad as we did manage to clear out an awful lot before Cagletini arrived. But there's a lot of general mess and I have zero energy to deal with it.

I did bounce back quite quickly after the birth all things considered, but then on Friday I ended up in A&E with what appears to be gallstones. Awesome. 🤔🙄

Solo · 19/11/2017 23:29

Oh no! Not gallstones Cag :( Feel better soon Thanks
And may I remind you that we did not see a picture yet pleeeaaase and how big was she etc? How is she settling in/how are the others dealing with the new sibling/any news on moving house yet? etc... Sorry, nosy moo here.

A picture you say? Twist my arm :o

She was 6lb 9oz, so a bit small but for 37+4 weeks all fine and the induction (which took 4 days of what can only be described as torture) was unnecessary - they were worried about the placenta and it was actually perfectly healthy! But never mind, she's here now. Big brother and sister are in love with her!

Aw thanks! :)
Trying to get to grips with the MN app. Gah.

No decluttering done here really but I am trying to at least be organised with baby clothes - have put aside what she has outgrown so far as have a couple of people to pass them on to. She should now fit in all her newborn size clothes :)

DH is off today so need to get stuff done. Problem is daily household stuff (including what I can't manage by myself) takes SO much time doesn't it, we never seem to get round to anything more significant

Solo · 13/12/2017 10:22

Just running in to say hello :) I hope all is well? Hope to catch up with you all soon. Thanks

Hello solo :)
How is everyone?
Mostly OK here. Gallstones is indeed the issue, although it was just one tiny stone and thankfully the doctor seems to be correct that it would right itself, I had two attacks five days apart but none now for three weeks. Fingers crossed.

Don't feel like we are getting much done really, everything just takes so long with babies and it's quite frustrating, not that I mind the endless cuddles of course! :)

Today we told the Caglets that the tree couldn't go up until the living room was tidied and fair play to them they did well helping DH really. It involved moving their bookcase to their room and getting rid of things etc. Living room far from perfect though. It's really getting to the stage where there's literally nowhere to put anything. Our bedroom is horrific to the extent we can't put Cagletini in her Moses basket yet. That will have to be the aim for after Christmas.

Babieseverywhere · 19/12/2017 09:48

Christmas is nearly here !

Our tree is up. Presents bought but need to wrap them, once they arrive via Amazon :)

House wise, we are still is partial chaos in the hall but the living room and dining room are painted and wallpapers...hurrah. only took me 10 years to do it ! So stuff from shelves is dumped in hall. I hope to clear hall in next two days.

Big kids room is good
Little kids room is barely good (which is good for them, lol)
Our room as always needs doing...definitely a new year thing. In 2018 I WILL have a totally clear bedroom !

But today's job is to redo Santa plate (we broke last year's one) and more laundry...it is never-ending.

Cagliostro · 19/12/2017 14:22

Fantastic progress well done!

I don't feel like we've done much here although the health visitor commented today how much less stuff is in the living room (and that I've lost weight so yay!) so I guess there is progress. Mind you if she saw the bedroom...

I am feeling fairly motivated today though. I am starting to manage general housework a bit more and that in turn is breeding a little more motivation.

Finally found the silica gel packets in a drawer of crap so I can carry on sorting the board games. Doing this will free up some cupboard space for other stuff. We have some science kits and similar to use up and I want to do that asap in the new year - decluttering and home educating in one fell swoop!

Right baby is asleep so if I can slip away I should put another wash on, do the washing up and maybe tackle the top of the tumble dryer as it's awful!

Solo · 23/12/2017 13:28

Hello everyone and Merry Christmas! Xmas Smile.

Nothing done here really. Things started but, not finished. At mums for Christmas. But I do have a long break which I hope I can get things done during. If today is anything to go by, nothing will get done :( Angry.

Babieseverywhere · 23/12/2017 16:46

Happy Christmas :)

Cagliostro · 28/12/2017 17:59

Hi all! Hope you all had nice Christmases. Needless to say no progress this week and we have to clear up again for visitors over the next few days. Thankfully most of the presents were things like Lego that can just slot in with existing storage.

Cagletini just had her first lot of jabs today soooo not even managing normal housework today as she is super grumpy and clingy.

Of course my new year resolution is mainly to be more organised (although I am trying to break that down into smaller goals).

Solo · 30/12/2017 00:02

Busy two days so far...my bedroom! Sooooooooo dusty! Taking a long time but, I figured I'd get the room in order and be able to rid the rest of the house of clothing! Then go on with other stuff...

OP posts:
Solo · 31/12/2017 00:31

Still working in my bedroom and Dd in the living room today. It's looking better but, it was so bad that it still isn't acceptable. Will keep going tomorrow. I want to cull my shoes too.
