Hi all!

Welcome to a brand new month in which we (in a very casual way) follow the FlyLady method to try and banish CHAOS (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome), and to declutter in order to remove an excess of STUFF (Something That Undermines Family Fun).

A daily BabyStep, plus missions, daily focuses and weekly zones break our time into manageable chunks - all helped by lots of supportive chat and a Naughty Corner stocked with goodies.

All welcome!

Chin up to all (me included!) - we are all in same boat and am reminding myself doing anything at all is better than doing nothing... Right off I go!

BlueEyeshadow · 15/11/2016 11:33

Sorry to hear that, SC. Sending you bon courage and de la force!

Stilllivinginazoo · 15/11/2016 17:50

Shined sink
Swept kitchen floor
Swept area outside back door
3 loads laundry on
Dry laundry put away
Bins emptied and kitchen bin cleaned
Cobwebs removed in kitchen

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 15/11/2016 21:56

Hi all, sorry am in naughty corner tonight. Have done nothing, am annoyed with myself and will be better tomorrow!

Offering pizza in naughty corner...

PurpleDaisies · 15/11/2016 22:05

toostressy I've already had take away pizza for tea to try and cut down on the kitchen mess! I will bring gin to the naughty corner.

I've got a few ta da's and due to a sick pet, still feeling like death and an impending trip abroad I'm not worrying about the house to dos too much.

Ta da's
Haircut
Booked lots of holiday things
Took guinea pig to vet and collected her this evening
Unloaded the dishwasher

Hopefully tomorrow is the day I stop coughing.

Afreshstartplease · 15/11/2016 22:19

Evening all

Fairly productive day here today

Tidied dds room, put all her clothes away and moved a couple of things around. Desperately need to chuck some of her soft toys away but need to be discrete with that

Just had a quick tidy around our room too, changed bedding and put washing away. Looks much better and calmer!

Have also kept on top of laundry and pots too!

Sweepingchange · 15/11/2016 23:04

Evening all! [Snaffles Toostressy's pizza]

Still haven't caught up with thread properly (apologies!) but just reporting back to say that posting here earlier did wonders (as ever!) and I've taken Newchick's and everyone else's encouragement on board and managed a bit of Flying today so thank you very much for putting up with the whinge-fest!

The fact that the first of three property signing/completion meetings went reasonably well with only one minor hitch has also helped to relieve the stress a bit!

ScuttlbuttHarpy feel rather ashamed now as bank lady was much more personable in rl than she appeared to be on the phone/via e-mail but the really snippy one will be at the meeting tomorrow so will practice head tilt for that!!

[Drum roll] ta da:
animals
emptied dw
tidied kitchen
shined and bleached sink and kitchen surfaces
bleached bin
one dining room table hot spot (the other one to do tomorrow)
4 loads of washing (2 td/2 hung up to dry)
made veg soup while supervising dd hwk
prepped supper (out of freezer - battered fish) + mash & peas and tidied up
prepped laundry for fortnightly ironing lady

Doesn't sound a lot and only started choring properly around 4pm but believe me, compared to the last ten days or so, that is miraculous Grin

So thank you lovely fledglings for digging me out of a pit once more! [Leaves Flowers Cake Chocolate in naughty corner sanctuary]

Blue un très grand merci!

Afreshstart well done for ploughing on through, and can truly sympathise with the "cannot list or I will cry" overwhelmingness of it all! Flowers

Still solidarity re: fetid crap holes!! Smile Bet mine is more fetid- than yours-- . We shall tackle 'em together ...

Hope cough clears soon Purpledaisies and fingers crossed that your gp is ok. (I have moved on to rabbits but I used to have gps and absolutely adore them. They have such strong individual characters.)

Hope you have had a better day today Cag Chocolate

G'night and big waves to anyone I have missed!

Waves to Still Cag

Morning all

So I have decided to really try and put away clean clothes as soon as they are dry, instead of collecting them in piles all over the house! So far it's going well. Everything is away except for ds 1+2s bits from yesterday as they can do that their selves after school!

Dds room is still tidy shock horror Shock

All pots are washed
Bottles are in steriliser
Have a load in washer and one in dryer

Living room is a toy explosion and desperately needs hoovering as dd filled pockets with grass on way back from school and then emptied it at home! Will do that after ds wakes up and has been fed

Stairs need hoovering and bins need emptying
Kitchen needs mopping but leaving it til after lunch for obv reasons!

fromwesttoeast · 16/11/2016 11:28

Great positivity SC! Hope the rest of the transaction goes smoothly.
I'm feeling overwhelmed by work this week and feeling so tired. Even feel like dropping off this morning.
I've been trying to do bits of bathroom cleaning each time I go in there to get ready for bed. I don't feel very productive in terms of flying this week.

Cagliostro · 16/11/2016 12:22

Sorry guys, didn't get on here to do links yesterday! Bad Cag! Blush

Wednesday daily focus - anti procrastination (yesterday's was planning)

Babystep 16 here (yesterday's was Make Your Bed)

Missions

Busy day yesterday as we were in London.

OP posts:
Afreshstartplease · 16/11/2016 13:37

I did make my bed yesterday (haven't today)

That morning routine is so far away from my hectic mornings though!

Cagliostro · 16/11/2016 13:48

Just had the letter we've been dreading for years. Landlords want to do an inspection 😱😱😱😳😳😳 and they're putting the rent up to an even more unaffordable price. Pardon my language but we are fucked.

OP posts:
Afreshstartplease · 16/11/2016 13:53

Oh no cag! I'd hate a landlord inspection! Any chance of negotiating on the rent?

foxessocks · 16/11/2016 14:19

Sorry I haven't caught up on the thread yet! Been trying to fight off mastitis again, so frustrating.

I did manage to do a good clean in the bathroom yesterday before I got stuck down with mastitis symptoms.

Ta das
Picked up parcels
Loaded dishwasher
Hung up washing
Tidied living room
Wiped kitchen sides
Took some rubbish out
Bit of washing up
Posted a birthday card
Made dd lunch
Made myself lunch
Put dd down for nap
Dealt with ds explosive nappies the consequences of his rotavirus vaccination a few days ago ...yuck.

To do
Put washing away
Put more washing on
Clean bath and bathroom floor

Trying to take it a little bit easy as still suffering a bit with high temperature and sore boob which is still lumpy and I can't seem to sort it Confused have tried everything!

Anyway reading some of your recent posts I know this is not a big deal compared to some. Sorry about the tough times everyone Flowers

Cagliostro · 16/11/2016 14:58

I doubt we can negotiate as TBH they have been far too good to us by not increasing it for a good few years now. Even at the new price it's still lower than market rent round here, hence we are stuck. Even the cheaper parts of town are more expensive now. It's crazy.

I really should be getting on with stuff, especially given this news, but I just feel paralysed now

OP posts:
CotswoldStrife · 16/11/2016 15:00

Have they proposed a date/time for the inspection Cag? In the short-ish period of time that we rented this property we had 3 monthly inspections - place has never been so clean! Not what you wanted to hear at the moment (and especially not a rent rise).

Cagliostro · 16/11/2016 15:02

No they've asked us to contact them to arrange a date.

OP posts:
Afreshstartplease · 16/11/2016 15:03

We have been in current rental 6 years with no inspections and no rent increase. Like you cag what we pay is now a good deal. We hope to stay here until we can buy our own house, we really need somewhere bigger

Cagliostro · 16/11/2016 15:09

We do too as we are in a tiny two bed and the Caglets are 7 and 9 so them sharing 84sqft is not great! We have been pondering trying to buy a static/park home but don't think that will be possible yet. Not a hope in hell of a regular mortgage.

Right I'm going to have a quick snack and then try and do something productive.

The lovely Cotswold has kindly offered to step in with links for this thread, as I'm not sure how well I'll be able to keep up with the thread for the moment. Star Thanks

Cag ours are 8, 7, 3 years and 4 weeks, in a 3 bed. It is chaos. We only have two rooms downstairs which does not help, I dream of a dining room ...
