My house/Zoflora

TheLionQueen · 20/10/2016 11:28

Posting here for traffic.
My house is a bit horrid. I have pets and a messy DH (who does get on board when I have a proper 'spruce' but doesn't notice the daily grime). I can keep on top of genuine rubbish but clutter builds easily. I know nobody can sort this out for me and I am working on it.
What bothers me most is smell. Although it's clean ish, it doesn't smell fresh. I do open windows for a bit every day.
I bought some miracle potion Zoflora yesterday and already mop the floors with it. I want to know what I can do with it as almost like a reed diffuser/air freshener?
I don't put the heating on much (have a log burner) so don't think putting it on radiators would work. I do hoover relatively regularly so can try the cotton wool trick. Anything else I could try? Is it really safe to spray on curtains? Any other tips for a pet household for smell? Thanks in advance!

To be honest, I've used Zoflora since I was in my early 20's. I'm 44. I don't give the disinfecting properties much thought. I use it in place of other cleaning products, because it's cheap as chips and smells nice.

SirChenjin · 27/10/2016 22:12

Ahhh....would you smell those Winter Spice flavoured toxic chemicals. Just luvverly they are

SoupDragon · 27/10/2016 22:16

Meanwhile, these chemicals themselves are toxic in their own right. There really is no need to soak your house in horrible synthetic chemicals

Toxic chemicals like bleach?

If you want to sterise something use a steamer or wipe a bit of pure thin bleach over it.

Hmm
MrTCakes · 27/10/2016 22:17

Oh well that's us told.

HemanOrSheRa · 27/10/2016 22:24

The only bad thing about zoflo as far as I'm concerned, particularly at this time of year, is it gives me the urge to buy more snuggly cushions. I've spritzed the bathroom with winter spice and soaked my dishcloths in it too. I've got my Mulled By The Fire wax melt going. If only I'd bought those soft, snuggly cushions and throws from Dunelm today I'd be in happy, hygge heaven SadGrin.

Mozfan1 · 27/10/2016 22:24

Why do people come on threads to be intentionally high and mighty? Why don't they just fuck off back to AIBU

Mozfan1 · 27/10/2016 22:25

Sounds good heman

NeepNeepNeep · 27/10/2016 22:38

I can't believe a thread about Zoflora attracted an unpleasant undercurrent Grin maybe they work for the competition...

HemanOrSheRa · 27/10/2016 22:42

It is Moz. But to be honest it would be better with red and cream checked snuggly cushions instead of the mauve summer ones.

I got confused and overwhelmed in Dunelm (not difficult) with all the gorgeous things and ran out of time Sad. I AM GOING BACK TOMORROW TO BUY THEM! I will spritz and put out my gorgeous things and enjoy them.

Also, could I ask that MNetters in the Bristol area Cease and Desist from buying the Winter Morning stocks of zoflo from every single supermarket and cutprice emporium. Thank you Smile.

NeepNeepNeep · 27/10/2016 22:42

MaQueen I covet your lovely kitchen herbs. Mine never last long. Maybe I shouldn't water them with Zoflora.

Francis Awwww. Cute.

wineusuallyhelps · 27/10/2016 22:44

What thelionking said ^

I like germs here and there as it makes us all hardier. thing is right, not everything needs to be disinfected. What I don't like is the risk that my house smells like four males and a dog live in it. Zoflora is proving to be my answer [bows to the Zoflora gods].

wineusuallyhelps · 27/10/2016 22:45

Or even, thelionqueen Confused

HemanOrSheRa · 27/10/2016 23:24

Hehe! wine! You are so right. When I used to flit about my lovely flat 20 odd years ago, splashing zoflo around, I never gave the germ thing a thought. Now I am a middle aged woman with a DP, a DS, 2 DSD's, 2 cats, a dog, and a constant stream of stream of smelly boys (DS's friends, DSD's boyfriends) here, I still don't give the germ thing a thought. IT JUST SMELLS NICE Grin.

MrTCakes · 27/10/2016 23:58

There is also a severe lack of winter morning in s.e.Wales.

Youremywifenow · 28/10/2016 01:20

I have a question: is it now acceptable to have a loo brush if the holder bowl contains zoflora?
I've just done this instead of just chucking my nightly capful round the toilet bowl. It is a rather good diffuser

Manumission · 28/10/2016 01:23

If it's properly annointed with the good stuff, I think it becomes a ZoFloLoBro, not a loo brush at all, and is therefore outside the MN ban.

HemanOrSheRa · 28/10/2016 01:48

Of course, of course it's ok.Wah! I've just wandered out from the comfort of my bed and poured the last of my twilight garden into the holder bowl of my loo brush. Excellent idea. Although now DP thinks I've completely lost the run of myself.

Youremywifenow · 28/10/2016 01:56

Excellent, pleased to contribute a new use

wizzywig · 28/10/2016 09:59

There is that saying that you remember where you were when Kennedy or Princess Di passed away. Would it be churlish of me to say that your first time zoflo'ing is also one of those unique moments?

wizzywig · 28/10/2016 10:01

There are times when a pure, an unadorned Linen will only do. Linen Fresh by Zoflora (whispered Calvin Klein Obsession style).

MrTCakes · 28/10/2016 10:29

I am going to put the boxes out in the recycling over several weeks. I don't want my neighbours seeing all of this in one go.

Mozfan1 · 28/10/2016 10:34

Oh you naughty sorts

I got some extra spray bottles and stocked up on springtime yesterday

rabbit12345 · 28/10/2016 10:50

I could swear at you all. Here I was just happy in my normal cleaning routine and then you complicate my life with this stuff! I blimming LOVE IT!

Only question! I spilt it neat on my skin! Has anyone done this before? Bottle says seek medical attention! I washed it straight off no dramatic burning or anything.

Do you use gloves even once you have diluted it?

Mozfan1 · 28/10/2016 10:52

Don't worry rabbit as long as you've washed your hands thoroughly you should be fine. I have done this before and had no problems. I don't use gloves and dip my hands in it all the time, I just have to moisturise well. Good luck!

rabbit12345 · 28/10/2016 11:10

Phew thanks Moz.

I am inviting people round but they will have to leave if they do not instantly commend me on the lovely smell wafting through the house.

Is it wrong to get excited about a ZoFloLoBro??? I don't even have one. Might have to drag the 5 DC out to the shops Grin
