Ok, so as there is no thread, and I can't remember or find a volunter for this month I declare summer mode operational.

This means:

  1. You are still welcome to join and post
  1. If you want there to be links and no one has posted them, feel free to post them.
  2. As technical thread leader I shall be hanging out in the naughty corner bar
  3. We'll still answer questions for anyone wanting information on the fly lady system and support each other. It's just a little more relaxed.

And with that, bring on July and crazy pants school holiday stuff...

Ah SC please stop giving yourself such a hard time. I really don't think you have it 'easier' than anyone, you are being pulled in all sorts of directions! It is totally understandable that you feel under obligation to do do everything. How's your back? Thanks

Slingcrump · 15/07/2016 16:38

Thanks Cag! Actually that is very positive - have absolutely brilliant physio who has - touch wood - manipulated disc back in to its proper place! As long as I don't sit down too much every day back is good now thanks!

Stilllivinginazoo · 15/07/2016 17:19

Slingcrump · 15/07/2016 17:25

Thanks Stillliving - glad to hear you are taking it a bit easier for once - and that you have had a nap. Profitez while dp away Grin!

Slingcrump · 15/07/2016 17:27

Btw I think that is true about teens. They are bloody hard work and one just needs to accept that and move on instead of wasting energy on it!

Slingcrump · 15/07/2016 17:39

Spoke too soon ... dd is now bunkered down in her room when she should be helping ... apparently she has to speak to, and share texts with all the girls that she will be be seeing all day tomorrow and all tomorrow night and all Sunday morning ... Confused

Stilllivinginazoo · 15/07/2016 17:47

Sounds about right.once dd2get chat mates its game over I want even bring washing down.only food can lure her away as rule is eat at table and no devices, this even applys to me!!

I've decided should make effort for choir, think last one before summer hols.should get end film in before that!!

They get toast there, will do late tea(Finish's at 8)-prob cereal little ones,if I can be bothered I fancy mushroom risotto

Stilllivinginazoo · 15/07/2016 17:49

Weather horrid here, close and had few drizzly showers, but nothing worthwhile. Why can't we just have wet or jot?I hate the two together!!

Stilllivinginazoo · 15/07/2016 17:50

Wet or hot.grr
Phones playing silly sods again

Cagliostro · 15/07/2016 18:14

Hooray SC glad back is improving!

Loads of washing done today, only thanks to DH getting the ball rolling with it last night though!

In other news, tried white noise with DD last night for the first time - it worked pretty quickly in getting her to sleep. I'm not celebrating too much yet, as she was pretty tired anyway (but fighting it, as kids do) - but feeling quietly hopeful that this might actually help.

YesEinsteinsMumDid · 16/07/2016 03:02

I was going to go to bed early. And then i turned on the news. The world has gone bat shit crazy. That is all.

Stilllivinginazoo · 16/07/2016 05:02

Haven't slept well, that will teach me for have a big nap!

Friends Coming to fix curtain pole pm,so action stations and furious flying imminent

School hols usually mean I give up and floors become missing under a sea Lego/playmobil etc.this year I plan try and cling some kind cleaning routine, esp now zoolets are older don't hold me to that

Glad I came back to mn thread as it makes me face up to what need to do and post it reminds me I have achieved something

(Wanders off to make start, putting on radio to see what has happened in the news)

Cagliostro · 16/07/2016 13:04

Yep. Batshit crazy for sure. :( :( :(

Anyone wanna move to Mars with me?

Loads of laundry done yesterday, feeling slightly more positive. Weather is brighter as well. I'm piling up everything for DH to hang up tonight (it sounds lame but that kind of thing is quite hard on my arms), and I need to sort through all the other stuff, odd socks etc. I should also get on with some shredding - I have a pile already sorted, so no excuse!

YesEinsteinsMumDid · 16/07/2016 13:41

What the fuck did those kids do with their common sense?! At what point did following some stupid app deep into a cave system seem a good idea batshit crazy!

ta da
errrrr......

to do

I am sure that I will find the motivation to get moving soon enough. Just atm it is lacking. But then I haven't drunk any coffee yet today....

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 16/07/2016 18:21

Ha. I hadn't heard about the cave thing, so I googled. LOL but also [despairing of people these days].

I've completed my shredding pile (just the stuff that was already sorted, I still have stuff in a box to go through) and the laundry is sorted to be put away. That's about it though really.

Slingcrump · 16/07/2016 20:18

[Drags stumps in to thread]

Today have: had Barnet Fair chopped, dried and ironed and hung up bunting, filled candle bags with sand, put up rest of decorations including balloons, cooked shed-loads of pasta/pesto dish with peppers, mushrooms, olives, roquette etc etc

Made up rest of beds

Titivated girls' room

Bought lavender bushes to make terrace look respectable and less like old pond, helped dh mow lawn and weed borders

Made up party bags with pots of nail varnish and Leo bars and things

Made Mary Berry malted choc cake and iced and decorated

Very humid so a bit cream crackered now

There are ten 13 yr olds shrieking downstairs

They have been shrieking since 2pm

And I anticipate that they will be shrieking most of the night

They are lovely but very loud and very stompy Grin

And boy, do they look sophisticated compared with 13 yr olds in my day [remembers days of braces and fringe cut with nail scissors]

Wine anyone?

BlueEyeshadow · 16/07/2016 21:14

I had to google the cave thing too, and then DS1 wanted to know what it was all about as well.

Will join you for a Wine, SC - have been ferrying the boys about to and from swimming lessons and then each to a separate party and back again all day. Plus two lots of grocery shopping, second time to get the stuff I forgot the first time. Bof.

YesEinsteinsMumDid · 16/07/2016 21:55

Sounds like a busy day there Blue

Yay for shredding box clearance! Cagliostro

Oh, the Pokemon thing. We'll probably end up getting that but I have seen children doing it round our estate and two adults walking in circles around the school playground. Grips needed, I feel.

Slingcrump · 16/07/2016 23:22

[Necks wine] - aaagggghhh - much better - thank you everyone -

[Offers everyone another glass full .... Wine Wine Wine Wine Wine

It is going to be a long night I fear ... but only relatively subdued shrieking now thankfully!

Happily dh has volunteered to cook breakfast/brunch for everyone tomorrow bless him ... !

Woohoo re: curtain pole zoo! :o And for the bike ride.

Hope you haven't been deafened SC :o

Hope everyone is ok and recovering from busy weeks/weekends.

I'm feeling much less motivated today. Not really sure what I'll get done.

Stilllivinginazoo · 17/07/2016 12:57

Hope you got some sleep sc

I've done bit shopping, washing machines bleeping madly-filter issues. Just what I need prattling round emptying water out a series shallow dishes, then wrestle damn plug bit open.........

Done bit shopping, taken kids Sunday school
An open garden for save the children by one our church members this pm so should show faces. Got nasty case CBA!!

Cagliostro · 17/07/2016 15:49

Oh how annoying Zoo I do hate it when things like washing machines stop working. Hope it's ok now.

I've managed somehow to turn my lethargy around a little. I've done a carrier-bag's worth of shredding, and recycled a few other bits as well (bin now precariously full, I'm not sure even getting the DCs to jump on it will make much difference now - but I'm sure they'll want to try :o).

I then grabbed the electrics/cables box (they were in a drawer but we had to make room for some of the card games) and sifted through that a bit. I found 4 things we could instantly get rid of, and detangled some other stuff. But the burning question is, just how many USB plugs and chargers is too many? Blush
