Whoo hoo re: curtain pole!
But RIP to disembowelled teddy
And wow to your list Stilliving! [Hands over deep heat muscle embrocation] Respect for making it to garden charity event in the first place!
Hope wm now working properly. Agree with Cag nowt worse than wm failure especially with sunny spell approach. [I am gearing up to wash winter knits, woollens and coats etc]
Cag Bloomin well done for keeping going doing bits and pieces here and there despite feeling below par - rest assured it does make such a difference - hats off!
Oooh yes ... the cable and usb and electricals thing ...
I was rather chuffed with myself a yr or so back that I had cleared an entire drawer in chest in hall for these. Unfortunately it is now choc-a-bloc with cables and plugs and chargers and god knows what. Even more unfortunately, no-one else in the house seems to have much more of an idea which specific device they relate to either! That's the problem with clutter, even when you have provided it with a proper home, it still has the audacity to go on multiplying! Time for a cull I think ... .
Anyway, thanks for the sleepover solidarity everyone. It was much appreciated!
Teens are now long gone and a good time was had by all [thank heavens!] I've known most of them since they were tiny and I can't get accustomed to how tall and loud they are now!
Dh and I shared breakfast duties in the end because it needed all hands on deck. We decided, now that they are older, to risk a "full English" which is not commonly consumed over here. We decided to do it "army style" so I manned trays of bacon and sausages and mushrooms while dh looked after eggs and grilled tomatoes. Teens then formed an orderly queue with plates and we served them as they came through kitchen. DD stood at end squidging HP sauce and handing out hunks of baguette! Large plates of pastries and bowls of chopped up melon on the side with jugs of oj. Thankfully, they loved it and scoffed the lot!! 'Twas like being visited by a plague of locusts (in the nicest possible way
)!
Basically all I did for the rest of the day was clear up and run the dw and wiped down kitchen and dining room surfaces rather a lot. Also managed two loads of laundry ( but cba to hang up tonight) and animal husbandry and one dog walk. (And lots of doggy ear brushing after that because he had "caught" a load of grass seeds en route]
Dh far more exhausted than he should be after a weekend though. I'm worried about him because he has a horribly gruelling work and travel schedule this week and he will not take any time to go to docs to check blood pressure etc and he has recently put on weight around waist (as have I) which is not good health wise.
Not helped by disturbance in street at 3am this morning. Dh went out to investigate in his boxer shorts and t-shirt and was confronted by the sight of 6 police cars and 20 armed officers brandishing their weapons in rather an alarming fashion. When dh enquired as to what was going on he was told politely but rather firmly that "there was no need to be concerned because they were carrying out a "traffic exercise" ". At 3 am when there is virtually no traffic on the road..??? Mmmmm..... .
Cotswold hope you had a well deserved break this weekend after manic end of term stuff. You too Blue!
Waves to Einstein and everyone else [and puts remains of choc birthday cake on naughty corner bar for everyone to help themselves... .] before crumping off to bed ...
