Ok, so as there is no thread, and I can't remember or find a volunter for this month I declare summer mode operational.

This means:

  1. You are still welcome to join and post
  1. If you want there to be links and no one has posted them, feel free to post them.
  2. As technical thread leader I shall be hanging out in the naughty corner bar
  3. We'll still answer questions for anyone wanting information on the fly lady system and support each other. It's just a little more relaxed.

And with that, bring on July and crazy pants school holiday stuff...

Things I need to do today:

-washing
-reset router
-set hot water heater on a timer

  • clean bathroom
  • wash car (inside and out)

Unfortunately none of this will be happening until I get my hungover ass self out of bed. Sad

BlueEyeshadow · 24/07/2016 12:18

Fingers crossed, Grey

And happy birthday to your DD, SC.

Sounds like a lovely day yesterday, Zoo

DH and I are now home after my parents' ruby wedding party yesterday, which all went off very well, apart from bored boys and DS2 falling off a climbing frame and all the dusty dirt sticking to his suncream before anything started, so nobody saw him looking smart!! The boys are with my parents for the rest of the week as I have the long-awaited summer school to keep me busy.

Kitten punished us for going away with half his litter tray across the utility room floor, so have dealt with that. Need to have some lunch and then prepare for next week.

Cagliostro · 24/07/2016 14:51

Ooh I remember you talking about the summer school Blue! How exciting, I hope it goes well :)

[offers painkillers and fry-up to Em :o]

Grey that sounds very frustrating about the lack of feedback. Similar I imagine to not get feedback after job interviews (this happened a lot to DH before he got his current job) - SO annoying and rude IMHO, how long does it take to say "Needs too much work"/"Not enough garden space" or "Not enough experience"/"Needs to improve product knowledge"? Angry

Still WOW that is one seriously productive busy day! Sounds like an idyllic walk, and lovely to read about the wildlife. :)

SC happy birthday to DD! EEEEEK officially a teenager! Cake

Thanks all for the lovely comments about the home ed :) yes, we are definitely much happier as a family now. Education/social side is right on track, just need to get the house figured out now... Blush

Greymalkin · 24/07/2016 18:19

More TaDas

Additional load of washing done and pegged out on the line.
Repotted coffee plant
Serious tidy up of garage, we now only have the things in there that will come with us when we move.
Swept out garage, made many spiders homeless...

Gave DS a bath in the kitchen sink which he thought was hilarious
Took DS on playdate, hopefully the mum and I will become good friends, we seem to have a lot in common

Little zoo had app at physio at 8.30,luckily dp was able take us as it a good hour+walk!!
Unfortunately it wasn't a good visit. We have struggled with the exercises (she has hyper mobility in knees and ankles) and have been told in order improve have stop as soon as in discomfort and rest.she is a very active little girl, who doesn't stop til hobbling, the 4hour walk she keep going OK,and wanted to go out again after we had stop and had lunch. We have concluded we have a 10-15 minute window of activity, before any discomfort at all strikes so we are now destined be stuck indoors all summer as her exercises for physio are priority.the local shop is arounf that far ,so even get bread and milk is going to be a challenge .somebody please shoot me

Cagliostro · 25/07/2016 11:40

Oh no Still that is so frustrating :( my DSS had a knee condition that got in the way of his love of sport, it is so horrible seeing them have to miss out :( Thanks

Well done on your pre-move decluttering Grey!

We are having a productive day here, but I am thankfully able to mostly stay on the sofa. DH is off so he's dragged everything out of the big cupboard, and amazingly the Caglets have agreed to sell certain big toys. We've said they can have some of the profit, and we're also going to spend some on a fourth wiimote and replacing a particular wii game that we lost due to messy house - any cash left over will be going on home ed supplies like electronics components. So it's a win for all of us. Will photograph them later and put on my FB (hoping friends with younger DCs will want it - if no takers I'll put on the local selling page instead).

DH has taken the Caglets to the shops for some fresh air/to get lunch stuff, so I'm grabbing a quick rest, but then I really must crack on. The living room is chock full of random crap. I've amalgamated various BoRCs (Bags of Random Crap) into one large Ikea bag while I sort the easier stuff.

Stilllivinginazoo · 25/07/2016 13:35

Well done cag
Gold badges for the caglets as been mini flappersGrin
I have had a nap and woken bit calmer.I would help we had ways get around, but I don't drive and resent cost trail 3zoolets/hate buses.this also bin day and I have a ridiculously strong sense of smell and hot weather and fornighyly pick up,means stench that's truly retchworthy waft around.I can't cope smell with windows open, which shame as its much fresher outside today..

Greymalkin · 25/07/2016 20:21

Waves to all

You might end up with the selling bug Cag - whenever I'm decluttering and tidying (which is rather a lot at the moment) the first thing I think is whether it is sale-able. The extra money is always welcome!

You're still super productive Still - your poor DD, hope she is ok.

Lol at your kitten punishing you Blue!

Very little flying to report as we have had our day at the beach and it was lovely, I even managed some proper sea-swimming and the water was just wonderful.

Still anxiously waiting to hear back from the estate agent....

celeste83 · 25/07/2016 21:10

Hey all, I've been a right grump today but can't figure out why so - just Monday blues really. Just get down with the same old battles with ds trying to keep him entertained and clearing up after him.

Cagliostro · 25/07/2016 21:11

Xpost Celeste sorry you're feeling grumpy. I hate that feeling, somehow it is worse when you don't really know WHY isn't it? You've got lots done though :)

celeste83 · 25/07/2016 21:16

I think it took me till mid-afternoon to realise that there was nothing actually wrong lol. I then had a lovely cuddle with ds watching cbeebies after we got home from Tesco and all seemed ok again Smile

BlueEyeshadow · 25/07/2016 22:01

First day of the summer school today, which went pretty well.

Am hacked off with the kitten today, cos he keeps playing/fighting with my hands and feet, and randomly attacking my legs. So been looking up lots of kitten behaviour stuff online.

Think DH and I might actually be messier without the boys around, as we don't feel the need to nag each other to tidy up. Oops. Have done laundry and washing up though!

Slingcrump · 26/07/2016 09:13

Good morning all!

Loving the sound of all these country walks!

And thanks for birthday wishes for dd! Yes, we have now officially entered the teen zone [quakes slightly] Grin

Bit of a slow start here at Crump Towers (still recovering from dd birthday weekend celebrations no 2!). Haven't completely finished tidying up yet! (See pic of wibbly wobbly cake attached which thankfully tasted ok!)

Just trying to pack lots of medical/"maintenance" (dentist, physio, hairdresser, specialist eye vet) in this week before heading off on travels. Lots to do to get house in shape for pet-sitters too.

That's great news about the summer school Blue and many belated congrats to your parents on their 40th wedding anniversary! (At least I think ruby is 40 yrs isn't it?) Enjoy your child-free time! Ouch at kitten antics! Have you got one of those fishing rod toys things to distract (that is what my sister does with her felines anyway.)

Celeste Glad to hear you are feeling cheerier now Flowers Looking after small ones, per se, can be draining in so many different ways. Your ta da lists are v impressive!

Fingers crossed that you receive good news about the house soon Grey! In the meantime, swimming in the sea sounds like the perfect distraction and stress-reliever! (V impressed by your garage clear out btw)

Great guns wrt cupboard decluttering Cag!

Stillliving sorry to hear about your dd and her hyper-mobility issues. That must be so frustrating having to hold her back when she has such zest for activity! Flowers

Waves to Emenen84 and everyone else I have missed!

Bit cooler I think today and much less oppressive weather so determined to get loads done!

Fledglings go on summer mode, Welcome to July.

zoo We live close to the city centre so we just tend to put rubbish in a carrier bag and dh on his way to work puts said carrier bag in one of the bins on the high street Grin beats weekly collections!

Cake looks lovely sling

I'm sure kitchen will grow out of it when they start roaming outdoors. Until then perhaps try some more cat toys? Ball, mouse, etc.

kitten, not kitchen Blush blue*

feetheart · 26/07/2016 12:25

Haven't read back yet as need to get on as I can't believe it's almost lunchtime!
Ta Da:

  • Cats x 2 to vets for annual check up and boosters
  • Washing x 2 done
  • Took delivery of neighbour's skip
  • Emails/phonecalls re parkrun and other people telling us we are cancelled!
  • Both children finally had breakfast!

To do:

  • Hang out washing x 2
  • S&S x 2
  • Washing up from last night!
  • Dye DD's hair blue :o
  • Finish unpacking car from w/e camping trip
  • Few bits of shopping
  • Get DC out somewhere as weather looking ropey for next few days.

I will return and catch up hopefully.

Cagliostro · 26/07/2016 13:16

Glad you're feeling happier now Celeste :) cuddles with the kids is a fantastic medicine :)

Ooh Feetheart let us know how the hair dying goes! DD would like her hair dip dyed with blue but I'm a bit concerned it'll end up going green!

SC that cake looks delicious! [jostles Still in queue for a slice or three]

Still enjoy the puzzle. This morning I've been counting puzzle pieces in order to get rid of any with missing bits. Annoyingly some seem to have gone missing in the Caglets' room. [sigh] But there are a couple of too-easy puzzles that are being passed on to charity/a younger friend, and one incomplete puzzle so far in the recycling bin.

DCs are having a goodbye play with their train set :( last night I weeded out all the crappy/broken bits and there's still loads to sell. But today I think I'll get on with tidying away some of the other stuff that was uncovered in the Great Cupboard Excavation.

Have a great day folks!

Cagliostro · 26/07/2016 18:15

Day going well so far - cars and toy food sorted out (I also weeded out some really tatty cars to chuck), lots of jigsaws checked, tumble dryer is on, and we went through the dressing up stuff and ditched a few things from there.

Should really do dinner, but... meh Hmm

Slingcrump · 26/07/2016 21:07

[rushes in with late order of cake and places on naughty corner bar for everyone to help themselves!]

Did a fair amount of choring today but had to run more errands than anticipated (unexpected present shopping and visit to MediaMarkt for dh in addition to vet and two trips to chemist and physio) plus made spag bol for supper tonight so there wasn't much time left to do anything else! Which leaves rather too much to do tomorrow. Why is it, when you are going on holiday, that one always ideally needs one extra day to prepare, or is that just me?

Stilllivinginazoo · 27/07/2016 07:20

Gah mn ate my post. Twice.testing testing 1 2 3

Stilllivinginazoo · 27/07/2016 07:25
