I've just found out about this fab way of organising your life, thanks to a kind poster on the 'people who are efficient ' thread. I was wondering if any other MNers are Bullet Journalers? here is the website if anyone's interested.

It's only a couple of days since I started my journal, but I can already see that it's going to revolutionise my ability to be organised. I've tried loads of apps, lists etc in the past, but have never really hit on a system that worked for me. I have very high hopes of this one though (plus it involves pretty stationery Smile )!

Thanks meciful - you did point it out to be before and i found it useful but for some reason im getting confused, i think i need to just DO IT! scary

Thecatisatwat · 22/02/2016 13:51

Ha ha Zing, mine is spiral bound as well (which I prefer actually because the pages stay open more easily). The only problem is that the pages are probably more easily removed but I will resist that because it would bugger up my index.

MissingPanda · 22/02/2016 15:48

Hi, finally caught up with you all Grin

I really like the idea of the BuJo and have only been more convinced by reading this thread. Having everything in one place, lists and being able to indulge my creative side appeal to me.

I already have a BuJo, I ordered it from Amazon the other day, although I haven't opened it yet. I was thinking of starting it in March as I like to start at the beginning so it feels right. It also gives me the chance to buy a pen and a ruler and maybe some coloured pencils too. I already have fineliners (have recently invested in adult colouring books). I was thinking of using them for the headings and the lines I draw when I divided a page up.

So far I've watched the video on the BuJo site and the Top 12 Bullet Journal Hacks on the other site and will read the Future Planning in the Bullet Journal page on the same site. I don't want to watch/read much more than that just yet as I'll just confuse myself and forget half of what I've watched/read. I'll start with the basics and then add to it/adapt it as I go along depending on what works and what doesn't. That is what is good about the BuJo, it's adaptability Smile

Kalopsia · 22/02/2016 16:16

Well I've ordered a beautiful dotted A5 Emerald Green Leuchtturm and a contrasting black pen loop from FirstStopStationers website.

Cannot wait to receive them so I can make a start!

I've also joined the FB group - more ideas the better. Grin

OrangeSunset · 22/02/2016 16:17

I've been using my BuJo for about 2 weeks (Orange Leichttrum) and it certainly makes me organised.

But the downside of writing down everything I need to do, and want to do, makes it look like A LOT of tasks, and a bit daunting. Maybe I need to give up watching TV to get it all done.

I really like that diary cover whats, and I could justify buying it before my current (cheap) notebook is full.

It might be more economical to get that and a cheap notebook rather than something fancy every time.
LEM I think you just have to take the plunge, most people end up tweaking the system until they work out what's best for them.
I'm pleased with my weekly planner so far, am still doing a daily log for smaller tasks (like people to phone/email) but I like being able to see what's on for the week.

Hippywannabe · 22/02/2016 17:38

Thank you Whatsonyourplate! I am now convincing myself that I deserve the luxury one.
I am also spending far too much time on the Bullet Journal Junkies fb page! Are any of you on there?

Greymalkin · 22/02/2016 18:20

Hello everyone,

I've been lurking on here for days and I'm fairly sure I lost a few days of my life on Pinterest looking at BuJo stuff!

I also had major angst about actually writing in defiling my beautiful dotted Leuchtturm but I started and am very happy so far.

TBH I think I will use it for lists, brain dumps and planning rather than as a diary. I feel lighter already having emptied my head of a hundred "to do" thoughts.

However, DO NOT USE SHARPIES in a Leuchtturm as they bleed horribly through the paper. I almost cried.

Anyway, just popping on to say hello Smile

TheoriginalLEM · 22/02/2016 19:45

I'e done it - i have bought the leuchtrum bullet journal edition and im stupidly excited. I got a pink pen loop to take it over £20

can't wait!!!!

mercifulTehlu · 22/02/2016 20:10

Yay - good for you, LEM! Now, you are actually going to write in it aren't you? Not gaze at it admiringly and refuse to sully its pages? Grin

HippyWannabe - I'm in the Bullet Journal Junkies group too. A bit addictive isn't it!

Hello to you too, Greymalkin! What colour Leuchtturm have you got?

Theres a facebook group too? Whenam I going to have time to actually do any tasks? My LT arrived over a week ago. I only worked up the courage to stop gazing at it lovingly and actually write in it last night after my pen loop arrived. Putting that in was an exercise in nerve gathering on its own! I have been lurking on here for tips the whole time though. Task 1 - stop procrastinating!

Kewcumber · 22/02/2016 21:09

Do we need some kind of secret code for MN/Facebook cross overs (I too a in a FBgroup but not sure if it's the same one)

Hippywannabe · 22/02/2016 21:32

There is now a UK Bullet Journal Junkies fb group!

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 22/02/2016 21:41

Yes, all of that written down can look overwhelming but ponder this:
you don't have to carry all that info in your head anymore or worry that you might forget something or face the consequences of having forgotten something!
It's weight off your brain cells, it's precious headspace.
Quite liberating, if you look at it that way.

My beautiful gold Lechttrum arrived today along with gold, silver and bronze Sharpies.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 22/02/2016 21:47

Sorry to hear about your Sharpie-gate Flowers and thanks for warning.
However, I bought my metallic trio to turn boring wooden pencils into shimmery little beauties.
Will post photo when done, waiting for pencils to arrive.

mercifulTehlu · 22/02/2016 22:11

I'm a member of the original 'Bullet Journal Junkies' group and have just sent a joining request to the 'UK Bullet Journal Junkies ' group - thanks for the heads-up, HippyWannabe!
It might be easier to find each other on the UK one if we wanted to - fewer members, I should think!

Kewcumber · 22/02/2016 22:54

I think I'm on both Blush

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 22/02/2016 23:16

I'm amazed we are over 900 posts!

Who's top priority to link a new thread soon? Wink

Btw I've just bought some glitter pens, managed to get all 9 colours I need
The metallic pencils were a disappointment.

knittedslippersx2 · 23/02/2016 08:20

920 posts in and I've lurked since day one! Coming out of hiding to say you've all convinced me and I'm taking the plunge. I'm off to find me a beautiful journal when I get paidSmile

DoreenLethal · 23/02/2016 08:47

I've asked to join the UK one.

TheVeryThing · 23/02/2016 09:51

Go for it Knitted, you know you want to.
I joined the fb group yesterday, might look at the UK one too.
I have been paid some work expenses earlier than expected and am now obsessing over what bullet journal-related stuff I can buy.
I was going to get that diary cover to use with my existing notebook but I'm not sure it will fit (notebook is hard cover).
I could be really restrained and limit myself to coloured pens and washi tape, but I'm not sure that's going to give me the fix I need.

Shetland · 23/02/2016 11:10

Hello - I am also de-lurking!

I started my BuJo in a spare notebook I already had but my plan is to tweak it to perfection and then ask for a fancy Leitchywhatnot for my birthday in May.
I am not at all creative so I'm not even trying to make it pretty - just laid out in a way that works for me so it's been really helpful to see how everyone else is doing it.

ICJump · 23/02/2016 11:29

So I brought some fancy stuff for my journal and it's not right :( I got this funky metal pencil and blue and pink lead and it looks very silly. I also got a pencil case that is elasticated but it is cheap and nasty :(
However go some pretty stickers with days of the week and will use those for march/April calendex.

Oh when should I do my march? On the 29th?

OnePlanOnHouzz · 23/02/2016 12:12

It's arrived !!!! Smile
