Bullet Journal

I've just found out about this fab way of organising your life, thanks to a kind poster on the 'people who are efficient ' thread. I was wondering if any other MNers are Bullet Journalers? here is the website if anyone's interested.

It's only a couple of days since I started my journal, but I can already see that it's going to revolutionise my ability to be organised. I've tried loads of apps, lists etc in the past, but have never really hit on a system that worked for me. I have very high hopes of this one though (plus it involves pretty stationery Smile )!

Got so much done today even though I didn't have a page in my BuJo for today (much more relaxed on the weekend!) - the effects of the BuJo seem to be becoming ingrained and natural already! Got 2 pairs of curtains so now every window has curtains finally 😍 Sorted out some more storage, organised a cupboard, ordered logo to be made for my business, sorted out bureau! Woo! Ooh, also joined the Letter Writers Alliance, something else I've discovered from researching the bullet journal!
Really want to make my journal prettier but am too busy doing the things on my lists Grin

First world problem- my frixion pen won't fit in my Leuchtturm pen loop Shock

WhoisLucasHood · 13/02/2016 21:24

I have the same pen loop issue, I've tried and failed to squeeze it in.

BYOSnowman · 13/02/2016 21:31

Mine fits! Did you stick the loop too far in the book?

nattyknitter · 13/02/2016 21:58

Atia Just read your link and found myself side-eyeing the last few christmas decs still hanging around.

In my defence they match the decor and don't look out of place, but I have been meaning to sort them out. It's now on the list!

learnermummy · 14/02/2016 00:04

I haven't stuck the pen loop in yet, was just trying it out before sticking. I have a clicky frixion and there's no way it will fit.

BYOSnowman · 14/02/2016 08:47

Oh I have the normal frixion and it only just fits

whoreandpeace · 14/02/2016 09:05

DramaQueen, was just coming on here to recommend those Staedtler Fine pens. I bought my son a set ages ago for his GCSE arty work and had forgotten about them. Out of the blue he told me how lovely they are yesterday. So I tested them and thought 'I need a pack of those for my BuJo'!

I am now looking like a middle-aged schoolgirl with a huge thick pencil case full of cute pens, post-it notes and stickers - loving it!

mercifulTehlu · 14/02/2016 09:14

I wonder how many BuJo-ers we have on the thread now? This is certainly my longest-running thread (not that I start that many ).

I've had a few days of being a bit slack with getting my tasks done but, interestingly, I still feel more relaxed and in control. I think it's because when your tasks are all just taking up space in your head and you don't get them all done straight away, new tasks keep coming up and you're in danger of starting to lose track and forget about the ones you postponed for a day or so. Whereas I KNOW those tasks are still there in my BuJo, so they are not lost or forgotten.

I'm combining my BuJo with getting back to the Kondo thing, which is also very headspace-freeing. Right, off to get some tasks done. I can hear the sound of dh doing diy and it's making me feel guilty!

Oops - sorry, meant ChristinaRosetti's pens are what my son has and which I am now buying a set of.....

staedtler triplus fineliner pens - they really are gorgous to write and colour with

whoreandpeace · 14/02/2016 09:17

I think this thread may run and run, merciful and you will have to do a second thread at some point !

mercifulTehlu · 14/02/2016 09:24

Fine by me, whoreandpeace! Those Staedtler fineliners are the ones I just got. They are indeed fab. And they don't really show through to the other side of the page either.

SoupDragon · 14/02/2016 09:26

I have the Triplus fine liners too but I actually prefer the roller version for writing with. I accidentally bought my DD a set of these for Christmas thinking they were the fineliner version.

SoupDragon · 14/02/2016 09:26

The fine liners are better for colouring though.

Mookbark · 14/02/2016 10:03

My BuJo is a thing of great pleasure. It's not particularly beautiful, mainly black ink, but with splashes of colour. It is, however, giving me joy and making me more organised. I keep thinking, oh I need to put that in my BuJo.
I've changed the layout slightly for next week and am doing a week overview horizontally over the top of a two spread page, iyswim. Then, I will write my daily logs underneath.
I am trying to resist buying all the beautiful stationary that keeps being shown on this thread. However, when I get some more money in march I may have a splurge.

nattyknitter · 14/02/2016 10:05

The 0.5 Frixion pens have a slimmer barrels if that helps anyone.

CutYourHairAndGetAJob · 14/02/2016 10:05

Merciful I'm kondoing as well. The two seem to go well together - bujo-ing seems like kondoing my to do lists / diary into something that sparks joy Smile

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 14/02/2016 10:10

Kondo is a bit much for me, but i did get a few things of jfdi done yesterday Grin
In fact i'm gonna fold the washing right now too

Iggi999 · 14/02/2016 11:21

I'm glad to hear some people are kondoing too. I was feeling guilty as all this purchasing of notebooks and nice pens seemed to go against her "the house will provide" philosophy!

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 14/02/2016 11:35

Definitely not kondoing, but gonna have a quick sort through my clothes and throw any that dont "bring me joy" as that seems rather sensible... Grin

mercifulTehlu · 14/02/2016 12:06

I'm currently Kondoing ds' room! He's not exactly helping. Following me round and taking things out and leaving them on the floor Hmm.

OP posts:
CutYourHairAndGetAJob · 14/02/2016 13:44

Ha! Dd is apparently feeling the joy from ALL of the plastic tat, empty boxes, cracker prizes and other junk in her room.

I have just written a list of kondo categories in my bullet journal.

PS you lot made me look at leuchterm (sp?) notebooks on Amazon, now I REALLY want the berry coloured one. At least I would never lose it...

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 14/02/2016 13:57

Dh has joined me and is also throwing clothes.

Akire · 14/02/2016 13:58

I read kondo but as craft horder in afraid if I did actually collect all scissors glue or pencils in one place I would be mortified !

Have already done half a page of to do for next week so seems be flowing nicely on week two

ICJump · 14/02/2016 19:02
