I've just found out about this fab way of organising your life, thanks to a kind poster on the 'people who are efficient ' thread. I was wondering if any other MNers are Bullet Journalers? here is the website if anyone's interested.

It's only a couple of days since I started my journal, but I can already see that it's going to revolutionise my ability to be organised. I've tried loads of apps, lists etc in the past, but have never really hit on a system that worked for me. I have very high hopes of this one though (plus it involves pretty stationery Smile )!

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 13/02/2016 13:52

I'm gonna join in too, i am queen of writing a million to-do lists all ovr the place, will be nice to have them together. And i'm a nightmare at keeping up with a diary, so hopefully having it mixed in with my lists will help me keep track of things..

Just ordered a cheapy a5 book from ebay. Now i'm gonna start on a list of things to go in my magic book of everything Grin

StillSmallVoiceOfQualms · 13/02/2016 14:11

Oooh! Just ordered these:

I feel more organised already...

BYOSnowman · 13/02/2016 14:14

Oh now I've had to go and buy those arrows too!

My leuchtturm has two ribbons but it's not quite enough as I want a mark for the month, the daily log and the habit tracker

Akire · 13/02/2016 14:44

You could just use a elastic band around the monthly page. Around cover and that page if at front. I have that book to but 2 is enough for me.

Feels great start listing jobs for next week and even tick some off. Feel less like juggling stuff in mind.

I've gone for two page spread a week. Left side in days for certain jobs and right side general list. Can number list on right so Monday need to do 1,4 5 say. Then next double page is meal plan for next weeks.

Gobletofgin · 13/02/2016 14:46

I am starting my journal today but I had to find the perfect book first any excuse
Look at this little beauty, it has coloured stripes instead of lines and a little pocket at the back. Now I'll be needing some nice pens....

Rubber band wouldn't work as I wouldn't be able to access the index

A plain old paper clip would though!!

CutYourHairAndGetAJob · 13/02/2016 16:54

I amEnvy of all your pretty books. I just grabbed an old spiral notebook but now I am regretting it a bit. It's the kind with perforated pages and I've already had to sellotape a couple back in.

In the true spirit of bujo-ing, I have made a list of the things I want from my new notebook, which I will buy myself as a reward if I stick with this system for a month. So far I want my notebook to have:

Squares (as a pp pointed out this means you can have portrait of landscape pages)
Soft cover (like my moleskine diary)
Pen loop
Non perforated pages!

Speaking of my moleskine diary, I have cut out the'year planner' pages to stick at the front of my bujo.

BYOSnowman · 13/02/2016 16:56

I really like the dotted pages

Iggi999 · 13/02/2016 16:59

Have spent two hours today printing off and sticking in annual and monthly calendars. So far have just got a diy calendar book, am hoping it gets more interesting from here on!

CutYourHairAndGetAJob · 13/02/2016 17:12

What's good about dots byo? My writing tends to get messy I was hoping that squares would be better for keeping it within the lines

BYOSnowman · 13/02/2016 17:14

The dots keep you on line as you can almost see them but it means you don't have hard lines through your writing

Iggi999 · 13/02/2016 18:38

Adding my index in and a holiday list (important stuff first!) and now wondering about the daily lists - do I index every single day in it? I can't say this week is pages 13-14, say, because I don't know if they will be! Or do I just not put some things in the index?

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 13/02/2016 19:10

My list of lists, ready for when my book comes Grin

I seem to have found my MN home finally...

I'm generally very organised but I find diaries frustrating as they just never seem to "work" for me somehow. I have now been drawn into the BuJo cult and have spent the afternoon re-purposing a beautiful green notebook. I have colour coded diary pages and everything all in one book. I have thrown out my diary and two other notebooks.

I have also ordered pens...they sodding well better turn up when DH is not working at home unlike the last two pairs of shoes I ordered

DH has shown interest too

I am now trying to work out if one would work at work. I have two jobs in different parts of the same organisation but I work at home so I'm in the same physical space. I currently have a notebook and a to do list notebook for each role. There is an increasing amount of crossover in the two roles and I often find myself in meetings wearing two hats. I am thinking combining them might be the way to go but perhaps starting from opposite ends of the same book. Does this sound mad?

AtiaoftheJulii · 13/02/2016 19:55

Iggi I think the official BuJo line is that you just put "daily log" or similar in the index and then add more page numbers when you've filled up each double page spread. You only need to know where to find the current day. Am I making sense?

Just found this link which is a nice antidote to the mine-must-be-as-beautiful-as-bohoberry feelings!

There's my index so far. You can see I am not afraid to make mistakes!

Marking place

Angelina77 · 13/02/2016 20:19

I started mine recently, thanks to this thread. Brilliant brain-dump, even if I never get any of this stuff done, at least its all out of my mind and in one place! I went for the squared paper, moleskine journal, with a few sticky tabs for the pages I refer to daily.

I love dotted pages, they keep everything nice and tidy whilst not intruding too much on your overall layout. I've been a busy bujoer these past few days. I now have a weekly task tracker, a gardening calendar and a times tables tracker for dd2. I've done a half page box for every day in February but i think I will change that layout for March, it's a bit too restrictive, sometimes I need more space and sometimes less.

BYOSnowman · 13/02/2016 20:40

Yes I find on my working days I don't need much space as I try not to give myself chores etc but my non working days need a lot of space. Weekends are in between!

I've managed to get to page 32

Iggi999 · 13/02/2016 21:02

Thanks Atia Flowers

WhoisLucasHood · 13/02/2016 21:09

Brain dump is a perfect description. I've been so much better organised this week and my house is cleaner. I wish I had it last year when I booked my holidays from work I may not have forgotten that I'd booked next week off, I now have to work for a day as I didn't complete my handover properly. What sort of an idiot forgets the holidays they book at work!! Or at least notes it down somewhere...
