The Hoarders Anonymous Thread Part Two...Still Sorting It Out ~ Together!

Sorting out the home when you're a hoarder (big or small) is never going to be easy and we should know! but having someone else to support you, talk about it with you and make you feel much less of a freak of mother nature makes a huge difference!

If you are any of the following:
A hoarder. In a mess. Untidy. Disorganised. Lazy with housework that has lead to something that you now feel unable to deal with. If you are ill and not coping with the housework. If you are emotionally attached to items for whatever reason. If you have a combination of any or all of these things or something completely different, please join us. No one here will judge you. We have something in common and we have a common goal. We share our ideas and we share our disappointments no matter how big and our celebrations no matter how small.

Welcome to thread number 2! :)

Bet the room looks good with new window dressings :)

CAMHS appointment was weird. Dr wants to see me on my own next time ? She said that I shouldn't blame myself for DS issues...asked who had said that...answer her colleagues report from the first meeting months ago.

I have asked for a list of things I can do/not do to help DS...she is posting me a leaflet.Sad

So I feel even more the problem atm....hey ho....Throwing myself into trying to do a craft fair (a long term goal)

I work better under pressure, so decided to book a craft table in October and then I have a definately deadline to work panic towards. Grin

Sorry to hear about the camhs appt. my toddler has given me a lightbulb moment with his potty training. I feel that I'm getting to understand what makes him tick after that. Not that he's cooperated in any shape or form!

I am sorting out living room storage boxes. I don't think i have done that in two years. I found a mummified orange segment and some hola hoops. Feel so bad but that's a job done. Well one box anyway!

I'm doing a list but find myself wondering onto other jobs.

Found a book "how to de clutter your life" covered in yuk.

The irony!

Rough week. Right. Kitchen time, and windows update multitasking.

Soundtrack: Chicago OST.

Lots of stress this week. Burying myself in stuff to keep myself on track.

pg, I would go and have a brew and come back to windows later...it always takes forever when you are watching it !

Polter erm, silly stuff I already make for my girls....planning to make.

  1. School bows in gingham (in a million different colours) Available to order all year around.

  1. Posh boutique hair bows which have loads of layers for parties. Custom colours made to order.

  1. Tutus from simple play ones to ribbon edged big ones (takes forever to sew the ribbon on mind)

  1. Magnetic bookmarks and fridge magnets covered in ribbons of course. Including boy colours.

  1. Maybe some bling rhinestone T-shirts to match the tutu.

  1. Some smaller simple bows on Christmas backing boards for stocking fillers.

  1. Teacher Christmas presents personalised bling rhinestone board rubber. Taking orders to be filled before Christmas holidays.

In the future, I aim to start making silk superhero capes and felt masks for boys if it goes well. My son doesn't like dressing up, so I never tried that before.

Wish me luck :)

Well, I have managed to remove a big tub of stuff from DD's room together with a plastic bag of bits/tat for the bin. Not much but something.

It hung at 87% so I forced a stop. It's now apparently configuring 112 updates ready to install. I hate windows!

I've cleared the futility room while I've been shouting at it, and I've cleared the kitchen floor and one of the window sills too. I cleared the kitchen table too as I needed somewhere to put the sodding laptop.

I need a proper coffee. If I get my kitchen lropey sorted I'm pondering treating myself to a medium French press, as I'll have somewhere to store it!

Just spent an hour in DD's room. Seem to have created more mess than I started with, but a few more bits sorted.

I might tackle my wardrobe today. I have about 200 things hanging up and only wear about10% of that. I have things I haven't worn since I got married!

It would be a easy satisfying hit and clear space - if I could do it!

I need someone to slap some seanse into me!

Looking to buy dd more cardigans as I have lost her nice expensive ones in my hoard! Aaarrrrggghhhhh!!!!

I'm so angry with myself. I can't find dd cardigans in the logical places. She has no cardigans now!

Two was jojo and one of those brand new and a white company one. Expensive gifts! So I've lost about£45 worth of cardis and I'm going to have to go to primark to replace them!

I get so angry with myself!

2boys did you clear your wardrobe out? Could they be in there?

I spent a good 2 hours with the DC's in their rooms sorting - putting lego with lego, playmobile with playmobile etc. I find it very unsettling when bits are mixed together. My hope is that they will play more with the stuff they have got if it's not all mixed together, although I think this is more about my issues Blush.

Honestly I can't bear bringing more stuff into the house at Christmas when I look at the things they already have and don't play with.

Found two of them. One was in a random bag of kids things I took to my mums ( suspect it's been missing for months as it has size three nappies in - dd has been in size for for months!) at the bottom of the stairs! I have been walking past it for months. The new one turned up in a carrier bag in my stash of new baby clothes ( dd is one but has clothes up to four - it's a real issues for me).

Just one more to find now. Wardrobe still to tackle

Just had the most futile trip out with the eight year old. Vision Express suck.

Doing dinner now then I'm carrying on when they're in bed.

Brew for everyone.

I have told DD1 (8), who is responsible for putting away her own clothes, that I will not pack anything still hanging over the end of her bed, and the amount she achieved in the next half hour was impressive and caused me to (mostly) over-look the rudeness when I sorted a load and added new bits to the pile.

I was meant to be doing an entirely different job but, instead, almost put away several loads' worth of children's clothes, and sorted a pile of bedding and a pile of out-grown school stuff I need to deal with tomorrow. I was working really well but it was in the children's room and they needed to go to sleep some muppet booked hair appointments at 9 am tomorrow ...!

Hi ladies. I've not quite caught up with the thread.
I've done nothing but washing this week. I'm suffering huge stress atm. The new job scares me and it's causing me so much anxiety...I've never ever felt like this about a job before which is quite something considering my last job! but I can't eat properly, I can't breathe properly and I just want to cry!!!

What's the job Solo? Sounds very stressful. I am on extended career break after maternity. To much going on in my life right now. I think that's why my house is a mess. Heads a mess, house has to be too. It's a reflection of my mind.

Did quite a bit yesterday. However it didn't dent anything. Got to keep reminding myself that it all adds up in the end. I'm having real problems letting any clothing go. But I do have it in check. At least two things out for one thing in, but I want it to be 1:3 which means a bigger push on the clearing.

Trying to remember as well that this has to be a part of every day life now, if not it's going to build back up.

Strange smell of wee in the boys room, I can't trace it down. That's a lovely job for today. I suspect ds might have thrown something as he has Dcd and sometimes wets the bed ( which I completely washed yesterday so it's not the bed)
