Hope hes had a fab time tortoise

I am having page loads problems

jasnDISMemBERED · 10/10/2006 19:23

Did he have a good day, tortiose? (Best wishes from me, too)

I haven't got much done again. I start the day with good intentions, but other things keep happening to distract me.
My kitchen is not too bad. Mission done for today.

Kids are bathed, and I have rota'd it on to my weekly list, as I keep forgetting, and then realise it's been a week with no bath.
I've put them down for 3 a week. It was easier when they were little and went in every day.

Oh QP, I don't know if you still want to know but we used 2 lengths of work top at about £30 each, but dp is a carpenter, so he did all the work himself (free, but takes forever, and is the reason my kitchen still has only one double plug ten years after we moved in!)
We probably only spent £200 all in, and it lasted a good while.
Desperately needs replacing now though, but we have so many other things ahead of it in our job list (like making a bedroom for ds)that it will probably only get done if we want to sell the house,

hello flybabes(makes us sound more glam don't ya think?
WELL i have decended into chaos i'm ashamed to say to quote DD aged3.5 what a mess clean up today repeat to annoying sing song tune.
Woke up yesterday all raring to go ,went to hospital apt at 10 o 'clock then got the call i'd been dreading'my uncle had passed away in the night.
Can't remember most of yesterday got up this morning to a house i didn't recognise. How can so much mess be made so quickly?
Oh well at least it is a valid excuse i suppose. Will get back on track tomorrow. My uncle died of secondary cancer, same as my mum a few years back so lots of bad memories too. It's the third death in family in as many weeks but i'm o.k now.
Well Happy Birthday tidler Tort and welcome to the flyzone Macme23 it's nice here.Flying takes time but it changes your environment and thus your world to put it simply.
Tort sorry to hear about the boys that's all that sunk in from yesterdays threads i skimmed .
As you can tell by the typing most probably i've been having a few glasses of wine off to play catch up now Hic!

Good evening Flybabies.

Please may I join your group? I discovered Flylady about 6 months ago but have only just started to follow her philosophy over the last week or so.

My flat is a pig sty, it is really disgusting but I am finding that baby steps is starting to make inroads into it. I haven't done any significant housework for about 18 months, since I became preggers with no. 2, I was very ill during the pregnancy and am only just becoming well enough to do things. I embarrased to say we have only just opened DS2's Christenining pressies and he was christened in February

I have not been following it all strictly but I am using it as an inspiration and it seems to be working. I do have my morning and evening routnes which are fairly much as she sets out and feel much better for it I must admit. I am loving flying

TortUREoiseChamber · 10/10/2006 20:56

Thanks Ruby.Is it a good one??
Does anyone know what i need to look for in a digital camera?
Welcome sahmtotwo.

Tortoise, All I know is the higher the mega pixels the better the pictures will be when you come to print them. More so if you want to print A4 size or bigger.

sahmtotwo · 10/10/2006 21:45

Cheers ladies.

My boys were in bed by 7.30 I'm afraid Squatchette. Thankfully we've not had a problem getting them to sleep so far (runs and touches wood with her fingers crossed and hopes she hasn't spoken to soon lol)

Well my sink is all shiny though I do have my bowl on the draining board with a crocodile cookie jar in it soaking to get the grease layers off . One counter top is shiney and clean and de-cluttered. Will start on the next one tomorrow as it is gonna be an awful job, not looking forward to it. My dishwasher is full and ready to go just need to put our glasses in from tonight and turn it on when we go to bed, My washing machine is full and programmed to start at 5.00 so I can do my washing on the cheap electricity along with the d/w. I've also changed our bed tonight as well so from tomorrow morning II am going to start turning back and plumping the pillows when we get up. .

sahmtotwo · 10/10/2006 21:50

I am afraid we're watching CSI Miami in this house. Yummy all that male totty hmmm mmmm!!! ( drool emoticon )

Sorry Tort I don't know you're situation but I hope it all goes smoothly at the solicitors.

Oh! and as a quick aside does anyone know how to get pink felt tip pen out of white, cotton sheets. DS1 has got it ALLLL over his bed grrr! He was drawing up in his platform bed so it was out of the way of his little brother.

Skribble · 10/10/2006 21:54

Evening all, sounds like lots of flying done today, I like flybabes, sounds a bit more dynamic .

I am a bit tonight as car decided to fail me today. Managed to get it in to MIL's and I will have to rely on her for the rest of the week, bit difficult as I live in a smal village and all after school activities in town. MIL has to use FIL's car so she will have to take him to work, thank goodnes for nice MIL's .

Of course DH is abroad and I will have to just put it in the garage, its due MOT too, no doubt I will put it to the wrong place or should order a part or something, but to hell with it it is getting done in the garge what ever is wrong.

Anyway I wanted to tell you all about the lure, seduction, joy and sheer excitement of dry wipe pens with attached erasers (£1 for 4 in Poundland) and a timer..... I printed out rotas and lists for the kids and put in a plastic sleeve display book.

They have a check list for the day,
morning routine,
bedtime routine,
bedroom cleaning rotas, bedroom split in to zones and they have to spend 15m doing each days task, like tidy books, tidy fiddly bit, clear floor. DS great at tidying room but DD hates it so I thought doing it bite sized like my cleaning rota might help.

So both are happy if they do things and get to tick a box, no other rewards like in the past as I think they should be doing this stuff anyway. I will reward if they go above and beyond .

I went mad on orgainised home and printed off loads of stuff to make a better control journal for myself.

TortUREoiseChamber · 10/10/2006 21:54

Sahmtotwo It depends on the pens! It might just wash out.
Basically my situation is that i have 2 sons with xp1 and 2 daughters with xp2. XP2 was abusive to DS1 and SS took both boys to live with their dad last July. Im going through court which will decide their residency. Atm its not looking good for me even though the ds's really want to be back at home.
Final hearing is at the end of this month.

TortUREoiseChamber · 10/10/2006 21:56

Skribble They sound good. I will have to look in poundland when I next get to town.

Skribble · 10/10/2006 21:59

Tortoise all is clear now about DSs.

Careful in poundland it is a bit like Ikea market place, you go "oh lok thats only a pound, oh thats a pond too, wow look at thet" then you get to the till and you have spent a fortune. I got a set of 3 duster things, not ostrich feather but same idea.

Skribble · 10/10/2006 22:00

Ok I get so excited in POundland I lose the power of coherent speach .
