Tort! Happy Birthday Tort Jr!!!!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 10/10/2006 10:45

I use dish cloths - once - and then chuck them in the washing machine! DH hates it because "its adding to the wash load" but would rather that that have germs spread around my worktops!

Heavens have opened here so good job tumble dryer is on! Becky is still napping, but will wake her shortly - wantthem BOTH to sleep this afternoon so i can get my paperwork filed and sorted once and for all! I need one of those systems you have in offices - filing, pending and out trays, rather than it all stacked in the corner of my shelf in the living room!

boomie · 10/10/2006 10:48

Hi everyone, on a bit of a roll this morning. Cleaned all my worktops, kettle and toaster and cleaned all tiles in kitchen. It looks sparkling now so I'm having a cuppa and cake. Asleep - I too have a 5 year old DD and would be interested in what your DD has on her morning routine as I'd like to sort one out for my DD. Thanks. Happy Birthday to Tort's DS.

asleep · 10/10/2006 10:50

hang on, boomie. i will go and take a photo of her little chart for you!

asleep · 10/10/2006 10:56

DD's morning routine ...

boomie · 10/10/2006 10:58

Aaaah that's brilliant asleep - bless her. Will sit down with DD after school so we can try and get her a bit more organised too. Mornings are a bit chaotic to say the least - will try and get DD2 involved too although she's only 2.

QueenQuootieSpookypieBee · 10/10/2006 11:00

Bless!

asleep · 10/10/2006 11:02

it works for us, as she hasn't played up in the morning since we made it last week!

batinshoes · 10/10/2006 11:03

Hi All,

Horrible trip out as rain was torrential. I've only been driving 6 months so anything where you have to use lights , wipers etc is considered scary

Pregnancy hormones hitting me lots and i am exhausted so going to do my best today but not too hopeful

I found the perfect solution for recycling last week. \link[http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RECYCLE-BAGS-LONG-LASTING-GREAT-FOR-SORTING-YOUR-WASTE_W0QQitemZ270035962362QQihZ017QQcategoryZ20621QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem\recycle bags} Since getting them, the back of my garage (i use as utility) has been transformed. DH and I both know where to put stuff. we've started recycling more because it is so easy and we dont have stuff lying around the house.

batinshoes · 10/10/2006 11:03

sorry - try again

recycling

mummy2ashton · 10/10/2006 11:14

hi flyladies. i havent been on much cos i havent been flying well at all. sorry! i've been feeling quite depressed lately and lost all motivation for everything, and the fact that my house isn't decluttered and tidy the way it was when i was flying is just making it worse. i will try and shine my sink when ds has his nap, i know i need to do something to cheer myself up, and i can think better with a clean house. please send me lots of motivation and fly cleaning vibes!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 10/10/2006 11:29

YOU CAN DO IT MUMMY2ASHTON!!! Go shine that sink!

Well I am pretty much DONE now. Have taken all clothes upstairs, but them away in correct places and made all beds. Have brought down all dirty washing and rubbish, have swished and swiped toilet and bathroom.

Have also taken down the black bin-liners that were covering the girls bedroom windows (cant afford black outs!) as it is now dark when they go to bed and dark til an acceptable time in the morning!

Girls are playing happily while i sit for 10 mins!

batinshoes · 10/10/2006 11:37

shine your sink mummy2ashton. and maybe clean the kettle or something. a nice easy job and when you've finished you'll have to make yourself a cuppa

Skribble · 10/10/2006 11:42

Morning all, I have just spent 1 1/2 hour cleaning out the fish tank. Never again, cleaning fish tank is now on weekly task list and if I give change a bit of water and rinse the filter it shouldn't need the major clear out. One of the fish looks a bit worse for it all , I hope it recovers, another reason to do a bit each week as I don't have to lift them out, Dam dam dam, I really don't want DS to come home to a floaty fish .

Anyway, striped our bed and cover is now in the wash, already done another load and sheet and pillow cases in next, thankfully it is sunny so far.

MacabreMe23, I asked that too when I first started and yes it is second nature now. The bedtime and morning routines just happen. It seemed like loads to to before bed but as you keep doing it, the jobs get smaller and easier to do.

I am still surprised every night when I go to get my nightie on and it is back in my drawer, every morning after my shower I take it upstairs as it was so annoying to get undressed at night and have to go back downstairs to get nightie off the bathromm door.

I wipe and pick up as I go along so that you don't have big mounds of stuff or manky things to deal with. I am three weeks in to the baby steps and after week 2 I had MIL round for lunch and she couldn't belive the difference.

I am looking forward to Christmas as I won't spend the week before just making my house presentable, I will be able to enjoy myself and do fun things like making mince pies with the kids, everyone will actually be able to see my decorations this year as they won't be hidden under a veil of clutter and dust.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 10/10/2006 11:46

Skribble - easy way around the christmas nightmare - go somewhere else!

We always do christmas at my dads house - so much easier and a lot more fun!

On my to do list now...

  • Empty tumble dryer, fold clothes and put away
  • File away paperwork
  • 15 min fling in living room (keep putting this one off for some reason)
  • See if i have enough washing for another load (always seem to have half loads of lights and darks!)
batinshoes · 10/10/2006 11:48

Skribble - I have goldfish. Take out 20% of the water every 1-2 weeks and change half of the filter parts every 2 weeks (then the other half next time). Takes about 10 mins and the fish are still alive so must be working

DS is currently on a mission for my laptop wires. I put him the other side of the room, and he will shuffle his way all the way across the room to get them. Hes only been crawling a week! I keep blocking them off, but hes so determined! First of all I put my feeding pillow down as a barrier, but he shuffled over it! Now ive hid them behind my feeding cushion, an empty cardboard box, and an empty filing box... but he knows they are there! I think I have to buy one or he'll end up god knows where! I popped to the loo earlier and he was under his swing pushing it, and it was bouncing off his head! Ive tried to baby proof, but, he always finds something new!

TortUREoiseChamber · 10/10/2006 12:44

mummy2ashton- Sorry you have been feeling down.
Sink is always a good easy thing to start with.
Ive done no FLYing today yet as just don't feel like it!!
