Kellys boring mission

Next month on bathroom week, I'm just going to do the kids bedroom instead. I only have one bathroom, and will incorporate it into the weekly "blessing" instead.

I'm a tad p*ssed off too - surely thats all been done when we wiped all the surfaces, washed the bath etc??? What about the other room???

BarefootJasnem · 15/09/2006 08:29

How's your head this morning?

boomie · 15/09/2006 09:08

Good idea Jas, think I'll do the same next month. I've lost my enthusiasm a bit this week.

damewashalot · 15/09/2006 09:28

Americans must have huge bathrooms, full of flat areas to cover in stuff
Doing quite well today, swished and swiped and did dishwasher before school run Bathroom still nice, rest of house a state but you can't have everything much more positive today but think we should make up our own mission as that ones dull

singersgirl · 15/09/2006 09:32

I did that mission when I cleared out my bathroom stuff earlier this week. That's OK though. The bathroom is as tidy as it can be, so perhaps I should do the same for my downstairs loo (which is also my utility room and so has lots of junk in it).

tamsino · 15/09/2006 09:46

lol. glad i'm not the only one peeved with today's mission....

i am soooooexcited. i have two men here at the moment cleaning my oven, hob & extractor......

yippeeee

ParanoidAndroid · 15/09/2006 09:52

Morning girls!

DS off sick again today so I'm really grateful the bathroom got finished earlier in the week. I can't believe how much time we're supposed to spend in there? Like you said Dame, they must have HUGE bathrooms in the US, or perhaps they have loads of them?!

Either way, I'm a bit behind today. Because I'm at home with DS and not able to ride, walk dogs etc, I've treated myself to a huge cup of coffee and MN. I've been on here for nearly an hour!!!

I'll get off soon and get cracking. The beds are made (apart from DS' in which he is lying, feebly making requests like 'mummy - do you think I'm well enough to go on the computer' or 'mummy, could you get me my book - I can't quite reach it' - we'll see how long my good mood lasts!!!!!)

Oh and I've done my profile too - what a good idea, I'm losing track.

Tortoise - how's the DIY going? I saw your other thread but didn't have anything useful to add (when do I ever ) so kept quiet, but I hope you get it sorted today.

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 15/09/2006 10:20

Morning all.
Ok morning so far. Banned my self from comp until washing was put away.
Only problem was that my brother texted me to say my little bro wanted to say hi on MSN! So the washing putting away has been put on hold as he only 12 and is in an internet cafe in Turkey and i don't get to speak to him very often.

Diy not done yet.Its pissing down again this morning!
Agree boring mission!

Quootiepie · 15/09/2006 11:20

I think I might sort of go back to baby steps... and do the missions and try and rebuild myself up a little! Anyone got todays mission? I think it might be mop floor? not sure.

Quootiepie · 15/09/2006 11:22

oh, just seen the mission... my flat surfaces I classed as my worktops! All done

Quootiepie · 15/09/2006 11:24

Quootiepie · 15/09/2006 11:26

oh, and its Date Night!!!

DontlookatmeImshy · 15/09/2006 11:59

Morning ladies. Hope everyone has a better day.

Already done todays mission when i did the other surfsces (and everything else too lol) so will concentrate on getting the utility room sorted. Need new shelf in cupboard and g-pigs need cleaning out.

Had 2 babydan playpens delivered this morning to keep ds out of mischief while i try and get stuff done. Bliss! Should've got themsooner.

I'm looking forward to next week.I can lock ds up and get stuck in, as it's going to be one hell of a challenge . Sounds like we'll all be abit more motivated next week once we get rid of the bathroom.

mummy2ashton · 15/09/2006 12:01

hi flyladies!

my downstairs is a complete tip!!!! some people came round last night for a couple of drinks, then they stayed for some food and there are piles of dishes and clutter everywhere, hot spots covered in crap and clutter and guess who has to tidy up??? me!! grrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!

dp said on saturday if it's still not tidy he'll help me, so at least thats something!

not in a good mood today!

JessaJam · 15/09/2006 12:03

Flat surfaces in our bathroom are the window sill and the top of the cistern...[quizzical]

I shined the bath yesterday AND the tiles around it [satisfied]. Need to get a decent thing to store bath toys in.

Date night...hmmm...maybe just a bottle wine with DH...if he is feeling any better (ill last night, lethargic and achey, not like him, he doesn't "do" ill)

shazronnie · 15/09/2006 12:11

I agree the mission is rubbish; but why don't we apply it to "the other room?"

in my kids bedrooms there are loads of pointless knick knacks on display cluttering the chests of drawers and windowsills....shazronnie's mission is to find the cr8p a new home (in the bin if necessary!)

tamsino · 15/09/2006 12:25

I did my DDs room this morning so that's something. Have shiny new oven thanks to 2 nice men. cant get going with anything else. cant be bothered to do anything today

asleep · 15/09/2006 13:00

hi all! happy friday!

my profile is added. indeed a rubbish mission.

DP and i have gone to the library (again!) and market this morning. still need to do grocery shopping, but won't have time today i will go and post lots of ebay items and buy some bread & milk instead of the whole food shop to keep us going until tomorrow. i found that even with DS being ill and me not getting much sleep the house hasn't suffered much. the kitchen was tidied this morning and it only took 20 minutes.

i made a menu plan for the coming week and added everything i need for those meals to my shopping list so i won't forget. i got some cooking books from the library so i can experiment with new meals in the coming weeks. does anyone else do menu planning?

BarefootJasnem · 15/09/2006 13:52

Hello? Is there anyone here?
I need someone to tell me what to do I've got no motivation, and am wandering about looking at everything and not doing anything. I've hoovered and the washing is on the line. I'll go and shine my sink, and seed if anyone has any suggestions.

Flamesparrow · 15/09/2006 13:58

Right. I'm back and I'm feeling much better.

Spent the morning at Psychomum's and thoroughly enjoyed it. A quiet girly gossip getting horrorfied at people who don't like books (we are book obsessed... not picking on anyone if you aren't ).

DD had 20 min "quiet time" when she got back (well... "screaming at stair gate in her room" time is a better term) - decided that on brownie camp we always had rest hour - a quiet hour either sleeping/reading or just basically being calm. DD comes back from school sooo hyped up that the two of us are getting to breaking point with each other, so the plan is "quiet time" (was meant to be 10 mins, but she kept getting time added for playing up on the way home) each day - gonna stick with the 20 mins, and as she gets used to it more bump it up to 30. She WILL learn to calm!

Gonna finish catching up on emails and MN then go and straighten my kitchen again. If I am still FLYing after that I will do 15 mins in her room, and 15 mins on clothes.
