Anybody want to join me in a mega, whole house declutter?

I am desperate to have a clean and tidy home. It's always ruined my life and I always feel very lonely, partly because I can never have anybody over without a week or so notice to clean up! I am fed up of being like this and want to make a change for good. I know that the biggest step is to declutter, as it will make it so much easier to keep tidy.

I have delcuttered lots of times before, and I then end up filling it up again! I don't want to do this again! I want this to be the last time!!

Anybody up for joining me?

I have already done my girls room (They share a small double and it was always so full that they couldn't ever have space to play in it!). It is so much easier now, I finished it about a week ago but have actually kept it tidy!

I am now moving onto my Son's room. It's a TEENY box room with just a cotbed and one chest of drawers in, no spare space and I have an extra baby to fit in their soon as we are expecting again. Baby will sleep in our room for as long as possible but no idea where the baby's clothes etc will go! So iv culled his clothes and now have 2 spare drawers, and got an under bed drawer now which I can use although not really space to pull it out!

Anyway, would anybody like to join me in my mission? We could support each other and keep each other going? I have also strarted looking into flylady and hope to use some bits from there, but not follow it fully as I like to do my own thing a bit.

Well a morning of not doing much, baby asleep on me, kids are now off but I will pull my finger out tomorrow, got hair cut this arvo which is desperately needed.

JKSLtd · 25/07/2014 11:06

I know it's a bit randomSmile

Had hordes here yesterday. 6 hrs of kids in the pool and garden. Then one stayed for a sleepover. I went put and left dh in charge. Drank too much and suffering today.
Builders here causing mayhem - fixing damp from last winter.
Did manage to pass on some boys clothes yesterday but got given bag of books.

Lazy day so far all still in pjs.

ChaffinchOfDoom · 25/07/2014 21:25

ChaffinchOfDoom · 26/07/2014 18:40

still pleased though [hooray face]

BoffinMum · 26/07/2014 23:44

Haven't been on for a bit, but I wanted to flag up my eBook is free until about lunchtime tomorrow, if anyone didn't manage to download it for free last time.

Austerity Housekeeping

I am also feeling very virtuous because I have just managed to declutter DH's rust bucket kit car by selling it, after a 17 year campaign. GrinGrinGrin I cannot begin to express how delighted I am. (It did 16 miles in 3 years, so legitimate grounds for decluttering, methinks).

BoffinMum · 26/07/2014 23:46

Shall I sell his old racer bike as well? Grin

shitatusernames · 27/07/2014 16:03

Ha ha meany!!

Really struggling to get anything done, it really isn't easy when the kids are off and baby wakes everytime I put her down, have managed to start on my wardrobe though.

Haven't even started on dinner yet, at this rate it will be a take away.

ChaffinchOfDoom · 27/07/2014 20:38

I got a bit more of hall repainted wa-hoo
and cleaned lounge. am boy, was it bad...there were mini eggs under the sofa for gods sake the last time we had mini eggs was easter.
Have bagged up non-selling tripe for charity shop drop tomorrow. re-used a random spare box for baby's toybox negating need to buy another one.

ChaffinchOfDoom · 27/07/2014 20:40

Boffin if he doesn't use the bike...sell it!

I got £20 for my old one Grin

h can always buy one from a local fb group for around £50 in the yrs to come if he really wants one

BoffinMum · 27/07/2014 20:57

It is actually a specialist one that people collect, by Pat Rohan who apparently was the top bananas when it comes to racing bikes. Apparently.

shitatusernames · 29/07/2014 21:18

Oh me, I feel your pain, I done that the other day lol, it is wine oclock now Wine

ChaffinchOfDoom · 30/07/2014 09:13

bleurgh. I don't like cleaning.

TheLateMrsLizCromwell · 30/07/2014 09:33

I'm in!
I like the idea of 20 min bursts - the sheer size of the task is making me procrastinate on Mumsnet , so I like the idea of quick wins.
Was thinking of cheating by taking a load to self-storage and sorting later (yeah, right...) but then I saw the prices... and by the time I've sorted it for storage might as well have sorted for disposal..
Starting...NOW!

ChaffinchOfDoom · 30/07/2014 09:47

is anyone going to carboot any of their tripe? I love a bit of a carboot, last did it circa 1998 Grin
can't do it til ds3 bit older though.
I don't ebay due to the high fees and a distrust of paypal Smile

TheLateMrsLizCromwell · 30/07/2014 14:42

Chaffinch of Doom (great name!!!) now that is an idea. I have never done it (or ever been to on) but there are loads round our way. Need to go and recce and leave my purse at home so not tempted to buy more junk

JKSLtd · 30/07/2014 20:27

Charity shop several bags
Some baby toys passed on

Started cleaning up a little tikes cube and rocking horse ready to pass on.

ChaffinchOfDoom · 30/07/2014 21:28

JKSLtd · 30/07/2014 22:06

We were given it and now I'm passing it back to the mum who gave it to me as her eldest has had a little girl. Does the rounds lol!

I'm also going to clean up and freecycle the elc bouncy castle that deflates itself when I get round to it ...
