Anybody want to join me in a mega, whole house declutter?

I am desperate to have a clean and tidy home. It's always ruined my life and I always feel very lonely, partly because I can never have anybody over without a week or so notice to clean up! I am fed up of being like this and want to make a change for good. I know that the biggest step is to declutter, as it will make it so much easier to keep tidy.

I have delcuttered lots of times before, and I then end up filling it up again! I don't want to do this again! I want this to be the last time!!

Anybody up for joining me?

I have already done my girls room (They share a small double and it was always so full that they couldn't ever have space to play in it!). It is so much easier now, I finished it about a week ago but have actually kept it tidy!

I am now moving onto my Son's room. It's a TEENY box room with just a cotbed and one chest of drawers in, no spare space and I have an extra baby to fit in their soon as we are expecting again. Baby will sleep in our room for as long as possible but no idea where the baby's clothes etc will go! So iv culled his clothes and now have 2 spare drawers, and got an under bed drawer now which I can use although not really space to pull it out!

Anyway, would anybody like to join me in my mission? We could support each other and keep each other going? I have also strarted looking into flylady and hope to use some bits from there, but not follow it fully as I like to do my own thing a bit.

Have 3 bags of clothes ready to go the charity shop. I now have nothing in seasonal storage, 7 things hanging in my wardrobe and 2 empty drawers in my chest of drawers.

Am now tackling the children's room.

The receipt finding is good news - decluttering saves money!Smile

New wardrobe looks fab. Halfway through sorting dd's clothes into it - getting rid of some as I go - and hoping to move out some stuff from her room to rearrange it a bit.

Freecycle the old elc bouncy castle last night.
Ds2's wardrobe is listed on freecycle.
Dd's old wardrobe needs to be listed.

We're off tomorrow until Monday so need to focus on packing now.

have just finished clearing out under my bed... only a few bits left, the rest up the loft. so dusty

have noticed something though. DH is a swine and a sucker for accepting shit off his parents GRR. he always blames me for collecting up shite but he is just as bad if not worse

random chairs...broken tables... half complete sets of useless china.

one good thing was I found a receipt enabling me to take something broken back for an exchange which has saved us £30 for a new one

Room turnaround sounds serious!

Wardrobe is just white. It was a boring brown with lots of scratches but was only £10 off eBay.
Her bed is white and small drawer unit is white around the edges (different colour fronts of drawers) - though I am hoping she won't need the drawers - no plan for them yet but they originally came from dh's grandad so have to keep them.

Off to friends for the day later so need to get the last coat done first.

I have started a Christmas ideas word doc, so as ideas for pressies strike me I can note them on to remember them,

also started a pinterest Christmas idea board,

have no money though. lots folk I know are buying gifts already! I'm not though, as my dc change their minds and I lose or forget what I buy early.

what colour are you painting it?? sounds lovely.

big jobs here - weeding at the front ... painting front of house Shock
the ''major bedroom turnaround'' next weekend baby going into his own room thank ye gods
involves ds into dd's room into bnkbeds, dismantling their old beds, moving ds clothes, major hoovering,
clearing under our bed [yuck] and clearing my wardrobe cupboard
on zero sleep as baby has a cold. Sad

I've done 2 coats on the new wardrobe, but I think it'll need one more tomorrow - not helped by DD planting her hand onto it, grr.
I've dug out an old cheap sticky border with flowers & butterflies that I think I'll stick on the front to make it more girly for her.
Really want to get to the point where DH can help me get it upstairs before he goes to work on Mon so I can get on with shifting clothes.

Started on the weeds at the front too - big job as they went mad when we went away.

Finished putting away the pool stuff from the garden into the shed - also a big job.

Big things I have to tackle soon:
clean & freecycle ELC bouncy castle thing in the garden
clean & pass on Little Tike cube from garden
clean and pass on/freecycle water table from garden

DD's wardrobe; paint/upstairs/swap over clothes/freecycle old one

Freecycle DS2's old wardrobe

sift through toys pre-Christmas...

Cleared larder and have put some food in bags for a local food bank that school is collecting for. Found these items and figured some families would need them more than ours;

A big box of Jasmine and Chamomile tea bags (given by MIL for no apparent reason)
A carton of tomato juice
Two tins of mushroom soup (nobody likes mushroom soup in our family....)
A mega pack of Sun-Maid raisins (DS has decided he doesn't like them anymore)

Cleared attic room (converted into playroom) and took old games and toys down to the charity shop. Now there's enough room to set up DS1's pool table)

Next I need to clear the garage with DH.

Bought new underbed box for pile of scarves and hats and gloves that have lived on my bedroom floor since I gave ds1 the previous box for his lego.

Also bought paint for dd's new wardrobe and have done the primer coat already.

Chucked out all but one emergency dummy as dd has given them up. Passed on dummy clips to mil for refuge and she's gone with the boxes.

I know I read quite a few over the holidays. Really want to keep it up but I know I won't.

3 boxes of kids clothes going via MIL to the refuge.
Plus most plastic cutlery/kiddie cutlery and bowls.
Need to add plates.
Have kept some but not sure why - the nicer metal sets.

Want to get paint for dd's new wardrobe to cheer it up so a trip to b&q needed then try to find the time to do it. It's much bigger than I though which will be useful - once we manage to get it upstairs!!

Back from holidays.

House full of stuff in the wrong place. And new stuff appearing for school that needs sorting.

Did acquire some more plastic storage boxes which I've started filing with 'exit' stuff but it's slow going. All kids back at school from Monday so will aim for progress then.

I read through the whole tread last night and was inspired to do a bit of de cluttering. Thank you.
I have just got back to my prewedding/prepregnancy weight. I kept a lot of my larger clothes for after the baby was born. This gave me the little push to sort them out now they are to big and look silly on me. Someone must of been looking at me doing it as when I came downstairs with my armful of clothes there was a charity collection bag poking through the letterbox. So not only have I sorted the clothes out they will be going on Thursday, which is earlier than I would have been able to get them to charity shop. At least they wont be hanging around.

here too. I REALLY want to sort my bedroom drawers again but baby will go crazy mayhem if I stick him in his cot for a bit....will roll onto the floor at speed if I put him on my bed...or will eat dust bunnies if put on the floor. literally can't do it.
