Mad Fledglings March through the Spring cleaning

BitchytheGreat · 28/02/2014 20:40

So here we are, March already.

So for those who don't know the fledglings is a long running thread. Some of us seem clicky but that is because we have been chatting on these threads for nearly half a decade makes everyone feel old we quite like fresh blood though so feel free to jump in and join us.

Three key points to keep in mind:
(1)No perfectionism allowed - this is harder than you would imagine
(2)You are never behind just start where you are and anything you do is progress.
(3) It didn't get into a mess overnight, it won't get tidy over night - accept it will take time to get on top of things and you will be happier.

If you are new then trying to spend 15mins decluttering and the babysteps is the most. Some of us Bitchy can have scary looking lists. One word of advice ignore them. Do what you can, anything is better then nothing, and don't judge yourself against others.

D you mind if I join? On babysteps!

Ta da: Checked emails
load of washing
2 mins hotspot
5 mins room rescue
15 mins declutter in bedroom
Dealt with dd trying to come downstairs every 5 mins instead of staying in bed

Now on to anti-procrastination mission; start uni assignment that I have been putting off!

BitchytheGreat · 19/03/2014 21:39

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 19/03/2014 22:23

Ta-da!

Morning routine, school run, go to work
Book car in for service
Go to Lidl in lunch hour
Home and fetch DCs from school
Sit down and plan evening on a whiteboard with DCs (new strategy for stress prevention)
Boil some potatoes for potato salad in packed lunches (found a mini harvest of potatoes in the garden at the weekend while digging the veg garden).
Make dinner
Make some soup for the freezer
Feed cats and brush them
Speak to friend on phone
Get DCs ready for Brownies and trampolining and take them
Spend resulting free time working on statement stuff
Bring DCs home
Spellings and reading with DD
DCs to bed
Admin jobs (school letters etc)
Another hour on statement stuff, finally feels as though I am making some progress.

That's about wiped me out. Off to bed to watch a bit of telly and sew 5 badges on DD's much hated (by me) Brownie sash.

sanschocolat · 19/03/2014 23:52

[Staggers in wearily after finally finishing a long list of work stuff.] Going away when you run your own business is the pits.

Welcome tossedsalad!!

Just and all of you who are dealing with statementing and SEN issues - am in awe/staggered by what you all achieve

Just re: dc and forward planning .... thanks .... oh dear Grin.

Big final waves (for a bit anyway) to all!

dizzyday07 · 20/03/2014 00:38

I'm another who can only offer moral support for all of you that are battling a system that should be helping our young people and their families instead of trying to snap you all by having you all bending over backwards and jumping through their many hoops. I am in awe of you all and there is always Cake and Wine available when you need it.

DD said running the mile wasn't too bad so maybe the C25k training we have been worth it! She is still a bit "throaty" but otherwise her lively self.

Ta Da

  • Our and DD's beds stripped
  • Linen washed and hung out on line
  • Swam 100 lengths (last session before Swimathon)
  • Beds remade
  • Helped DD make a fort from the sofa, cushions and a pile of blankets
  • Takeaway pizza for tea as DH away Grin
  • No pots to wash but tidied the days dishes etc away
  • Listened to DD practice her violin - and got her to teach me a bit

Had a super productive day yesterday so afflicted by CBA-itis today. But the computer is back. Yay!

Dizzy - you'd better have a Brew if you want a Bitchy-esque list! Good luck.

Like Going, I suspect it's only a matter of time before Minecraft strikes in this house...

Struggling through final draft of statement. That is all.

PeanutPatty · 20/03/2014 13:42

Afternoon Flyers,

Have been feeling very fatigued the last few days. Naturally I've turned to the therapy of choice = chocolate biscuits and coffee. MrPP is accusing me of eating ALL the biscuits. Of course I've denied it.....

I don't have any experience of schools and statements but what I have heard is that its very challenging emotionally and physically. I hope everyone gets their desired outcome.

Ta Da's
Dogs walked
Breakfast
Everyone up, washed and dressed
Miaow attended too
Toddler activity
Nursery run x2
Lunch
Dog towels washed on a gazillion degrees and now on the line with no hope of drying as no sun
Another load in the machine

To do

Swanhildapirouetting · 20/03/2014 13:48

Just back from supermarket with wine and food.
Bumped into no less than two friends and had chats with both of them

now to make the chicken curry...so lacking in imagination I'm going to copy dd's school curry ConfusedBlush

elliepac · 20/03/2014 20:14

Evening all Smile. Operation recovery is underway. Feeling a lot better than this time last week but am at that stage where I am tempted to do stuff. Like this morning, I pottered, did the washing up, put some washing on and quick tidy up. All done on the sly whilst DH nipped out to the shops. Am paying for it now though and lesson has been learnt.

On the positive side, BF from uni days came for lunch today with her gorgeous baby. Best visitor ever brought flowers, chocolate and lunch. We chatted and chatted some more and it was a lovely interlude in an interminable daily dose of daytime tv.

Will try and catch up tomorrow. Going to have to take some painkillers now which will wipe me out for the rest of the evening.
