Mad Fledglings March through the Spring cleaning

BitchytheGreat · 28/02/2014 20:40

So here we are, March already.

So for those who don't know the fledglings is a long running thread. Some of us seem clicky but that is because we have been chatting on these threads for nearly half a decade makes everyone feel old we quite like fresh blood though so feel free to jump in and join us.

Three key points to keep in mind:
(1)No perfectionism allowed - this is harder than you would imagine
(2)You are never behind just start where you are and anything you do is progress.
(3) It didn't get into a mess overnight, it won't get tidy over night - accept it will take time to get on top of things and you will be happier.

If you are new then trying to spend 15mins decluttering and the babysteps is the most. Some of us Bitchy can have scary looking lists. One word of advice ignore them. Do what you can, anything is better then nothing, and don't judge yourself against others.

Sans - I wish my fingers were in any way green to help answer your question! Since we planted the seeds we have had some cold nights and even really bad fog all day yesterday so probably not the best start they could have had! I've never grown anything outside before from seeds in the ground. I have always started them off inside then re-potted into grow bags and have grown mostly tomatoes. My cucumber seeds seem to have sprung to life today (they are inside in one of those plastic propagator things) and they have had a combination of light, warmth and humidity. (The water I added today to the bottom tray generated condensation inside on the lid). We took delivery of some more topsoil today so now I can get my potatoes planted up.

Ta Da

  • DD to early morning swim training
  • DD's patchwork blanket washed and hung out to dry
  • Waited in for delivery of first veg box and topsoil
  • Climbed Ironing Mountain whilst watching the Cheltenham Festival Grin
  • DD to swim training
  • No pots tonight as tea all cooked in oven
  • Washing load on and hung to dry

Merry If you don’t already know (or are happily rich) take your own food. DS was there yesterday, apparently prices made London look cheap!

Blue Sad huge sympathies for you all finding yourselves in a position where you the systems been twisted to achieve this and then the sweeping it under the carpet and ‘it’s a done deal’ process marching on relentlessly. Horrible.

Bitchy hang on in there. It wears, grinds and ages, but as you know in the end the sheer weight and cross correlation of all that paperwork doesn’t half arm you to get your child’s needs met.

Waves to all, but must run.

Tbh it does fuck all because no one will give us an official diagnosis. Second time around through the system and it is an up to 4yr wait for assessment this time around. I have to chose between that one word on the right bit of paper by the right person and putting ds in a place where he is ok. And not having that word means that I am fighting the red tape in a maner there is NO way I can win. it is incredibly frustrating.

Whoknows enjoy the ice hockey game. The local team have a chance to win the league this weekend but they have to win both their games this weekend. It is going to be a very tense weekend as it will affect a major rivarly next weekend. Who you watching play? I am actually glad that it is almost the end of the season!!!!

Grin thinking!!! Pst you also get renew your spirit day tomo which is when she thinks you should do something on your own for yourself!

12 hrs sleep last night has helped although feeling yukcy and dehydrated due to the weather not being able to make up its mind and the sugar overloading i have been doing recently. Need to get back onto the paelo way as do so much better on that.

Lots that should be done but first job of the day is an important one. But even that can wait until I have had a coffee and some water (like half a gallon to shift this dehydration headache)... There may well be a long list today, equally there might not be. Will have to see.

Blimey, you're having a very productive Saturday Toffee! [impressed emoticon]

Feel absolutely cream crackered here this morning. Hosted a very un-Lenten spontaneous steak/chip/salad supper for friends last night and far too much Wine was drunk.

The lovely sunshine and relative warmth of the past few days has suddenly disappeared, leaving grey overcast skies and cold winds in its place.

So far today:
went to bakery and back to buy croissants and bread rolls
ate them
scrambled eggs
drank coffee
emptied dishwasher
filled dishwasher
urged seeds to grow
stroked a rabbit

Usually feel fairly sprightly the morning after the night before but I feel wretched. Must be old age. Just tried to galvanise some action in to the troops but dh and dd are ensconced in front of telly in their pjs, both with laptops, supposedly watching Dr Who Confused so I am going to make myself scare.

Trouble is; can't decide whether to march on, or go back to bed ....normally hate sleeping during the day but the call of the duvet is somehow very strong atm ....

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

Strong Brew for anyone in need ...

EustaciaVye · 15/03/2014 11:10

Kitchen cleared, school shoes polished. kids playing in the garden and we off out for lunch later Smile

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 15/03/2014 11:27

It's Basingstoke Bison vs Sheffield Steeldogs Bitchy - they have a school scheme so the tickets are heavily discounted and lots from our school are going. We may not stay for the whole thing though, it's a late night and we've got a lot of other stuff on bloody F1 at 6am tomorrow.

I'm glad it's nearly the end of the normal hockey season too, I took DS to training this morning and he was crying with tiredness when we got there so I let him come home, of course after half an hour he was full of energy but crying again saying he wished he had stayed, I think he's a bit done in know how he feels. Anyway we went outside and did some hockey practice by ourselves to make up for lost time and have talked it through, lesson learned hopefully.

Just off out to the post office to post my woolly hug squares. It's such a lovely day here.

sanschocolat · 15/03/2014 11:28

OK, two phone calls later (someone has just invited themselves to stay at Easter and as we stupidly haven't made any solid plans as yet I feel kiboshed (sp?)), I am soldiering on ...

Bitchy sympathies over red tape Sad sounds absolutely horrible

Good luck with the move Just

Enjoy your Saturdays Eustacia, Merry and Thinking!

Have just noticed the pictures - they are fab!!! Grin Grin Grin

Big waves to eveyrone else!

BitchytheGreat · 15/03/2014 13:40

Should be a good one. sheffield are a fiesty team, bison are second in the league and need a win to stay in with a chance of winning. Statistically I hope Bison lose as it makes local team more able to win. Although Sheffield are a major local rival and it would be good if they lost. No love lost for that team after what has happened in some of the local derbys. Will be good.

Ds has a summer camp for training. It looks bloody brilliant but will kill him. He is due at his dad's the week following and i have just remembered that i need to warn his dad NOT to make any plans other then an easy week. I expect ds will be knackered and tearful by the end of it. Grin Will be good to see what sort of player comes out of it. He is a thinking player and developing fast at his new club. Very interesting.

BitchytheGreat · 15/03/2014 14:11

Also (I have just checked) SHeffield need a win to make their playoff place more secure. It'll be a hard fought game. Should be really good to watch!

Right need a list to focus and let me feel like i have actually achieved something. Don't feel like i have done anything.

Have a lovely day out, thinking - sounds fab!

Not such a long ta da! list, but did manage a good couple of hours digging and weeding in the garden so felt I'd earned my beer and pizza this evening!

BitchytheGreat · 15/03/2014 21:34

tbh it would be nice to see the end of the film. i have seen the rest of it 3 times now!
