I only use the dishwasher every now and then but I guess there being only two of us .....

as for spinning - everything is done on the fastest speed - freakoid indeed!

No. I do it all on the fastest spin possible.
My machine does do a lower spin if I use the synthetic or gentle wash cycles. (About twice in the past year)
