Scout19075 · 20/09/2012 14:02

TS is desperate for a rest but is fighting it.

CatsInChaos · 20/09/2012 14:15

Hi all, just popping in while I have a late lunch. I think I will pop in on both threads if some of you are still going to be here. Smile

I have been --banging my head against a wall-- trying to fit some feet onto a convector heater that I just bought. Ended up in tears over it and phoned my brother to come and help out. it is now all together and ready to go. Hoping we will get a plumber round soon to have a look at our boiler ( heating not working).

Well done on your cleaning zoo I'm afraid I have done minimum here today. Blush

TS has finally given in to sleep on my lap and now I can watch TBBT.

Scout19075 · 20/09/2012 18:18

Gutting phone call regarding my meds while Toddler was on my lap asleep. I fear I ate 1/3 of a bag of mini Reese's cups as a result. Blush

The only things from my To Do list that have been done today have been swimming related: pack lunch, swim, hang wet gear. I have managed to more-or-less stay on top of the washing up. Tonight I have some spreadsheets to create (too hard to do them Toddler wanting the computer, too).

I feel flat again thanks to the nurse though it's not her fault, she was lovely on the phone.

liveinazoo · 20/09/2012 19:22

little zoo was tired again and we sneaked in cuddles and stories whilst she sniffledSmile

ds had wonderful time on school trip.he barely paused for breathe on the way home gabbling 20 to the dozen about itGrin

i made a yummy risotto for tea as its turning chilly.i love cold weather for the food that comes with it-stews,risottos,etc and yummy milky puddingsand lashings custard with crumbles and baked fruit
pity i dont like the heating bills!!!!!Grin

Scout19075 · 20/09/2012 19:48

Well, in honor of the red and white motto I will Keep Calm and Carry On.

No idea where MrScout is. I'm making dinner and he can eat it cold or microwave it -- I'm hungry.

bessie26 · 20/09/2012 21:34

Well done on all the decluttering & cleaning zoo & glad that DS is back on form.

DD2 wasn't right for the two weeks before her most recent ear infection - I had taken her to the Drs twice to get her ears checked, but they apparently looked fine. She does have some fluid behind her ear (drum?) though, which apparently makes her more succeptable.

Hope your dinner was nice scout - we had a thai stir-fry

Scout19075 · 20/09/2012 21:43

We just had spag bol, bessie, nothing exciting.

bessie26 · 20/09/2012 22:07

mmmm I do love a bit of spag bol! Which reminds me, I need to find a new recipe as DD1 seems to have decided she doesn't like quorn in any shape or form (excluding the fishless fingers!)

Scout19075 · 21/09/2012 09:22

I'm so tired.

Scout19075 · 21/09/2012 10:31

Toddler was awake for almost three hours overnight and up just after 7 a.m. Do I try to keep him running until bedtime (and move it forward) or let him have an hour around lunchtime?

bessie26 · 21/09/2012 12:46

He still naps on you most days doesn't he scout? I would prob have early lunch & early nap and a walk or play in the garden in the afternoon to make sure he is tired again for bedtime.

DD1 told me she was tired earlier & seems up for having a nap this arvo (she hasn't had one for for a couple of months) - fx she does, I would LOVE a nap myself!

bessie26 · 21/09/2012 13:35

Bugger. She has changed her mind! Looks like I'll have to clean/tidy something instead!

Scout19075 · 21/09/2012 14:29

bessie, no, he's hit-and-miss on the nap front. He's fighting it today, despite cuddles, blankets, train DVDs, paci, etc. I'm letting him play. We may or may not go to Tesco for almond slices and mixed spice in the hopes that the air will aid bedtime. To be honest, though, I don't think he'll resist early bedtime he's told me he's tired. I'm also going to tank him up at dinner I'm thinking pasta and meat sauce and bread & butter and maybe a slice of cake or a biscuit for dessert (he doesn't normally have desserts after dinner here) then an oaty bar before bedtime.

Scout19075 · 21/09/2012 14:41

I had Toddler help me mix the dry ingredients for Christmas pudding today. I did, however, find a piece of floured mixed peel in his hair. He had fun, though. We've also painted, colored, played with trains, read, cuddled, watched DVDs, waved flags (don't ask). Now I'm going to try to keep him up until 5:45 and get him into bed by 6:15.

Scout19075 · 21/09/2012 19:25

Nothing is going right this evening with dinner preparation. I could cry.

Scout19075 · 22/09/2012 20:06

Oooh, lovely bessie.

We had a nice day at a National Trust 1940s/Wartime weekend with a Spitfire flyby. ScoutCamp loves spitfires.

Scout19075 · 24/09/2012 10:51

Anyone?

Hello.

Anyone?

cakebot · 24/09/2012 11:51

Hi Haven't checked in, because I've been soooo busy cleaning! ( My tip-put something on your hair that has to stay in for ages- henna in my case, wrap in a scarf so you look too ridiculous to leave the house- and clean the house from top to bottom due to extreme houseboundness). I've de-scummed the shower screen, the bathroom is gleaming, the kitchen cupboards have been cleaned, carpets cleaned, loads of clothes chucked out ( well, by the front door waiting to go to the charity shop) Baby in full time in school- so only one child- virtual holiday!
To do: Oven cleaning, but have no idea how to do it!
keeping on top of house so it doesn't get so filthy again (Flylady)

Yay me!

bessie26 · 24/09/2012 16:07

Well done cake!

I've tidied & vacuumed downstairs, but wasn't able to mop the kitchen floor as DD1 wanted to do cutting & sticking in there. Need to scrub the bogs later - that's something to look forward to!

Scout19075 · 24/09/2012 16:23

Today has been hit-n-miss on the flying front. However, Toddler put all of the bottles (about 7-8) of varying types into the recycling for me and we went to the indoor/outdoor Toddler activity which he loves.
