Who wants to join me for a school holiday fly thread?

I am hoping to develop a new routine for the school holidays which gets me through the basics, encourages the dcs to do a bit, and leaves me plenty time to mumsnet play with the dcs.

Anyone who would like to join me please sign in below.

Ideas how to achieve this are also gratefully appreciated.

Camper I have those conversations arguements with my DD (3.8) She swears black is white and similar examples.

Ta da's so far today:

Got up at 4 with DD (who has been awake since then) hope she has a nap today!
Swept yard after workman had left.
stripped throw off sofa and put in washing machine
hoovered dd's bedroom and top half of stairs
Dealt with numerous tantrums --almost lost will to live but just about hanged in there--
Made tape recording of self a bit like this: - " Leave her alone" , "get off him", "leave the cat alone", "Stop that", "No hitting!" --numerous times, "No kicking", "No football in the house", "Stop that" repeat numerous times--
Had battle with DD to try to get her to wear big girl pants, she was militant and refused - screaming etc. (She won)

There are now still kicking/hitting climbing on each other.

aw cats must be something in the air!!

to combat the chaos ive flown in knowledge least i can chill in reasonable tidy space now they in bed wrecking upstairs

vented spleen at dp on phone

am now settled down with tv turned up watching trashy tv armed with multi pack double deckers,jelly babies and crisps.its been a hell of a day and i NEED these!!

i woke up at 4 and couldnt get back to sleep so gave up at 5 and got up,thus;

litter tray cleaned
cats fed
20min shred
washed and dressed
just going to fed zoolets then put washing out!

we are venturing into town today so this may be all i get done today

I crawled out of bed at 8.00ish after being woken by DD at 2.00am - she ended up in our bed asleep.

We have peace so far this morning. DS just got up around 9 and has been quiet so far. --fears this will change before long--

Morning all! Great to see new faces and some old friends! Camper I have also fallen off the fly wagon but got my foot caught on the way down and am currently being dragged, face first in the dust.

Dd has painting stuff on the kitchen table - she is using it every day, several times a day. It's ok to leave that out isn't it? If she has to get it all out and tidy it all away each time it will put her off doing it I think.

I have A LOT still to do but feel I have made a good start, especially since I dont feel well.

Emptied WM, again, & hung everything, plus hand washing

Currently having a rest before starting dinner

We have a tiny amount of progress with potty training today - DD is wearing big girl pants and didn't moan about putting them on!

I have told her "Nappies are for bedtime and when we go out". As she gets more confident I will put her in pants for going out too. I am soooo hoping she will "get it" this time! --sick to death of potty training--

Today's list includes:

get DC to eat breakfast and get dressed
Visit from HV (Hopefully about potty training and dealing with tantrums)

painting (hopeful)
washing up/drying up
hang out washing
do more washing and hang out
There may be more but mind has gone blank

OH is roaming the city having dropped his car for servicing and his meeting has been postponed.

I need to go in to town for a hockey skirt, DDs are playing a match tomorrow, and one of them needs underwear. I need a rest first.

I have surpassed myself today, considering I woke up feeling CBA this morning.

DDs feed and ushered off to school with a packed lunch

I had a healthy brekkie
now the bods are fitting carpet and I need to go out for school run soon, ish

still to do, dinner and packed lunch for tomorrow

feed dogs again
read for a bit, I have a book I want to gift to someone but I need to finish it first

tiny update

DDs collected and friends DCs drop home
cannot do dinner yet as blokes are doing carpet by the kitchen door

so, once I can get into the kitchen I shall sort the washing then do dinner while DDs make cup cakes and the dogs can go outside, they have been cooped up almost all afternoon. Bathrooms will get a S'nS before I go to bed. I have a new keyboard and I cannot find the punctuation marks , took me ages to find the brackets!

carrots i recall that you have 2 dcs,does this mean you took someone elses with you as well to food shop

i am at teh point where the house has to be dealt with properly or t will take me a fortnight,minimum, to pull it round.
why,oh why,did i let ti all go "coz the dcs are here".....

as i now hae all uniform i am shifting focus back to this place bearpit

Emptied bins and put rubbish out for collection
WM on, twice
Made second breakfast for OH post school
Emptied DW
Coffee

Currently awaiting arrival of carpet fitters

Still need to do,

Put dirties in DW
Vacuum, can't until carpet fitters phone as if I don't answer they don't turn up
Shower puppies, they stink - have to wait a while longer, see above.
Make up cardboard boxes and sort book case
Clear and clean kitchen sides
Make pancakes to freeze
Clear fridge
Clear garden ( don't ask)
Eat lunch
Plan dinner
Collect DCs
Prep dinner & tomorrow's packed lunch.

Wow reading through this thread its appears its been over a month since i've been on here last. I have been keeping the house clean and tidy honestly

done today:
everyone breakfast'd and hubby sent off to work
kitchen wiped down and breakfast dishes done
painted with ds
washed up ds and new clothes on lol
made lunch
toilet reaquainted with harpic
bathroom basin wiped down
down a load of washing (is now drying on the line outside)
walked the dog with children and went to the park (was really stormy this morning but turned out quite sunny this afternoon - hopefully it stays sunny for the weekend!)

just about to make tea now.

p.s. i'm gonna make an effort to keep up to date with this thread from now (well maybe after the weekend )

OH pulled the carpet fitters up on a few things
Carpet fitters finished & left
Finally let dogs out of kitchen and fed the poor starved beasts
Canceled dinner plans with friends
OH found where carpet fitters have damaged it and hid the fact
Dinner
Sick child went to bed
Tended sick child, decided to give ibuprofen as she's had paracetamol to no effect.
Currently having a cuppa before returning to sick child.

Managed to get some MN time in while sick child napped on and off in the kitchen.
