Arti it is the photos that are putting me off doing more. It is the only way to get it moving though so I really should do another batch. It is all futtery stuff that is left in the pile which may be tricky to photograph.

Someone boot me please. Although maybe our crumble is ready now Grin

educatingarti · 13/05/2012 18:23

Right. I am going off to do at leat 10 mins some housework before getting tea! Carrots, consider yourself officially booted!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 13/05/2012 18:54

I got my ironing board out today --hasn't been out for ages-- and DD said "Is that a surf board?" Grin
So I have done some ironing (still have a bit to do). I normally get away with folding things as soon as they come out of the machine and then hanging them so they don't need ironing but with feeling a bit lax this last week, I didn't.
I have had a bit more energy today so maybe things are looking up at last! Smile
I also did a small amount of paperwork sorting today too.

Well done Cats.

I did list some more Arti - thank you!

How did you get on doing more housework?

educatingarti · 13/05/2012 21:31

Blush I got as far as doing the rubbish, recycling and bringing in washing from outside. Then I got sidetracked by random threads on mumsnet and other junk. Thank you for asking as it has brought me back into "reality" and I stand a better chance of getting on with a few things and getting to bed early!!

AdoraBell · 13/05/2012 22:04

It's Mother's day here, so I've done diddly squat so far, had breakfast brought to me in bed, been taken out for lunch and DD2 wants to make dinner, leftovers turned into a salad. it's only 4.45 though, still time to discover the DCs need uniform washing for the morningGrin yesterday's barbecue went well, not too much left over although we do have an entire chocolate fudge cake in the fridge.

Tomorrow I have the house to myself so I'll be abe to get things done.

carrotsandcelery · 14/05/2012 11:37

Ta Das No 2:

All dry clothes ironed
Huge tub filled with weeds from the garden (but I now can't lift it to get rid of it Blush) My arms are now also scratched to pieces Shock
Oven door cleaned - TOP TIP - I ended up scrubbing it with a dishwasher tablet - the white side - and it came up brilliantly. I think the tablet would still do a wash too.

educatingarti · 14/05/2012 12:13

carrotsandcelery · 14/05/2012 13:06

Ta Da:

Hung a load of washing. There is no drying room to put another load on yet.

I seem to be grinding to a halt.

I think I might go and add to the tub of weeds Grin

bessie26 · 14/05/2012 13:15

We are in Zone 4 - The bathroom & another room (you choose!)

Here are The Missions and here are her suggestions for some detailed cleaning - Remember - declutter first!

DDs off to school, OH out of my hair, the only thing stopping me leaping into action is MNBlush

So, soon as I've had my toast- it's right here beside my coffee- things will be made clean. I'll report back later, with stunning results obviously.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 14/05/2012 13:25

I have done the usual morning stuff (breakfast, get dressed, school run etc). Wink

Can't be bothered to do a list today!
Am off to make a start in kitchen next. Wish me luck!

carrotsandcelery · 14/05/2012 13:45

Thanks for all the links bessie. I think my other room is the garden today. I have been out again and planted in a few plants that have been sitting waiting due to our excessive rain. I have also weeded round some more so about 1/3 of the beds in the back garden are now weeded. It is not too bad as the soil is soft due to the rain. It is pouring now so I have had to come in but that is probably a blessing as if I keep going I will have a burny shoulder joint and then won't do any more for weeks.

The flapjacks are back in as when I turned them out they were really moist on the bottom. Shock

I am off to put my clean jeans back on and find my phone.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 14/05/2012 13:55

Right, have loaded the washing machine --at last-- and done 1 x washing up.
Feeling quite pants today as I have a cold.
Will try and do little jobs here and there though --if I can be bothered--

Scout19075 · 14/05/2012 13:58

I have failed spectacularly at getting Toddler to nap. He's desperate for it but won't stay in bed. BUT I did get some flinging done on the upper level in between putting him back to bed.

I have managed to move all the ebay stuff into the study. It is impossible to move in there now but it was all over the lounge and looked awful and was getting me down. The only problem is ds's drum kit is in there and he won't be able to practise so I will have to move it somewhere. It will look better than a pile of random stuff though so I would even rather have that in the lounge.

I have now dusted the lounge and seem to have managed to get myself covered in dust in the process. I just need to hoover the room again and it will be fit for visitors should I ever get any.

I have also dusted the hallway.

I have also put a small dark load on as the jeans I was gardening in were too disgusting to have hanging around. I have old jeans waiting to go in recycling which I think I will reclaim as gardening jeans.

I am going to have a Brew now and rest before the ds comes home (dd is going to play with a friend).

carrotsandcelery · 14/05/2012 14:49

fruit - honey - oat - bites This is the recipe I was trialing this morning. I have just cut it up and one broke so I took it as a sign to try it myself.

They don't really taste like flapjacks but they do taste good. They are more like cereal bars. bessie your dd might like them as an alternative to a cereal bar.

They are quite sweet so I think you could reduce the sugar or honey in them a bit further really. Ds might disagree of course Grin

15 mins declutter in spare room Done 10 mins and immediately took out rubbish and paper recycling Grin

AdoraBell · 14/05/2012 17:26

Halfway mark for me

Turned out and organised bathroom cupboards, 3rd load of washing is on. My other room is my bedroom, few niggly hot spots to sort out pls a whole load of rearranging in the wardrobe. Summer clothes to put away and warmer things
to sort though.

Right now I'm using a face pack to remedy back ache. No, I haven't gone mad, I just have to sit for 15 mins letting the blue stuff do it's work, whilst supporting my back with cushions, see makes perfect senseGrin

After lunch I need to vacuum throughout, back permitting, and give the kitchen a flick over before school run and shopping.

Does anyone know, please, if I can use vinegar on glass? I have a large glass shower door which is looking minging at present. We have very hard water and if it isn't dried thoroughly after each use it looks like the inside of a neglected kettle. We don't get the shower shine stuff here and the regular window cleaning stuff doesn't tackle the limescale.

carrotsandcelery · 14/05/2012 18:08

I use vinegar on my glass and buff it off with newspaper. It works brilliantly on our windows, mirrors and shower doors/screens. It smells for about half an hour and then it goes. We don't have limescale though so I don't know if it deals with that.

educatingarti · 14/05/2012 18:10

I would have thought vinegar would be fine on glass - they sell it in glass bottles!

Seriously I'd mix up a spray with a very small amount of washing up liquid and some vinegar (maybe about 1/4 vinegar) in water and see how you get on with that!

Do you have any microfibre cloths? - they are great for wiping down shower doors/screens.
