The last few days he's walked into the house a bit "huffy" (not huffy angry but huffy like I'm looking to see what's moved). I haven't touched the living room after our argument discussion. I will do again soon but not right now. The two things he specifically mentioned were a train tin (the type chocolates/sweets come in) and a tray (as in one of those little trays you might use for carrying two cups of tea). Really, what will we use the little train tin for? It's a long tube shape. The tray is barely big enough to hold two decent sized mugs. AND we've had it for about five years and never used it (found it buried in the bathroom) so really, why do we need it?! Maybe I'll take the tray out and give it to TS to play with for a while then it can go under the radar for a while.

I'm off to a good start this morning, I have decided to sort the understairs cupboard and also try to sort the various bits of paperwork, newspapers and other bits of crap stuff that is lying around. Just hoping the DC will behave so I can get on with it!

Scout that sounds like a nightmare. Could you store dried spaghetti in the tin and use the tray on a windowsill for plants or in the bathroom for bottles or something? I agree moving them on is the better plan but if Mr Scout has to keep them... Aaarrrggghhh! Poor you!

We are off out until late afternoon at the earliest. I have loaded the dw and then been playing hairdressers with the girls. They wanted Manga style hairdos (WT...?) I gave them high plaits and they look really cute (although I can't tell them so Grin)

The house is really suffering from my being out so much - it is making me anxious about the Easter and Summer holidays. I will have to work out routines to keep on top of it that work when the dcs are at home. I accept decluttering may have to slow down but I would like not to return to CHAOS iykwim. I have CHAOS just now Blush

carrotsandcelery · 15/02/2012 09:38

Oh no BlackCat! Take a deep breath, have a Brew and just give them one very simple and clear instruction at a time. Bosies are in generous supply if you need them

BlackCatTryingToFly · 15/02/2012 09:42

Carrots I don't know what I'd do without you lot on here!

I will go and put the kettle on.

Scout19075 · 15/02/2012 11:26

TS and I have been having a lovely morning. I won't share my Ta Dah list with everyone else having rough days. Blush

I don't know what to do with that tin. It had chocolate buttons in (I took them out, obviously Wink) but it's wide enough to maybe hold £2 coins (but has a flat side). So really not much use. Toddler already has two banks so doesn't need another. The tray I guess I could put with his tea/coffee set (the set came with a coffee pot not a tea pot so they called it a coffee set on the box but it has all of the bits like a tea set) I'm about to resurrect (he was a bit to young for it/not interested when I first got it but think he'd like it now).

We're going bowling this afternoon with friends and will be seeing pregnant friend. I'm going to return the bag she used to bring our gifts and I have it filled with a few more bits & pieces she might be able to use. Am also going to the tip to take the bag of stuff I've cleared from the cabinets/drawers (out of date stuff or just yucky things), put the other baby stuff in the clothes recycling box and to the supermarket recycling for the bag of plastic bags.

Am wondering what to do/how to store all of the jars I want/need for when I make presents (homemade goodies like carmelized onion chutney, mincemeat, etc.). For things I give away I try to use jars that don't have branding on the lid so if I get a jar like that I try to save it. Last year I struggled getting enough jars in time so have decided to start saving early. Yes, it does mean a bit of hoarding but I feel like it's hoarding with a purpose and the things will get used.

Scout19075 · 15/02/2012 12:25

TS is having a nap and I need to sort out my lunch. I don't know what to have today. Might go and crack open a can of soup.

Is anyone around for a chat?

bessie26 · 15/02/2012 12:35

Could mrScout use the tin to store his loose change in? Or keys?

We went for a coffee with a friend after swimming, so DD2 & I are grabbing some lunch (leftovers for me & squeezy packet food for her today) and a Brew while I plan what I'm going to do this arvo.

Sorry to hear you guys are having a bit of a mare with the kids (I have all this to come!) - all I could think of was to get them out in the garden. I remember reading (on here) a childminder saying that kids were a bit like dogs & needed a good run around in the fresh air everyday to stop everyone going crazy!

Had better crack on. I think DD2 will be ready for her bed soon.

liveinazoo · 15/02/2012 13:16

i use that phrase and "kids are like the sea..never turn your back on it for long!!"

we are finally back!
we are lucky enough to have a cycle track near us so we wandered along that for over an hour looking at horses in fields and robins singing in bushes so close you could touch them!
then popped out near a community centre so had 15mins run around the play equipmrnt before walk back
little zoo was flagging a bit 2hours in and as we passed a texaco garage a tanker pulled up sop we sat on the wall and watched in fill up the petrol pumpsSmile then on to the library for cuddles and a couple of stories

returned chilled and tired

unfortunately the kids are still quite perkyHmm

we are about to have lunch now so will pop back 1.30 case Blackcat is around and wants to buddy.x

bessie26 · 15/02/2012 14:20

I've cleared up from lunch, vacuumed (again! - do you guys vacuum nearly every day?) mopped the kitchen floor, had a Brew, now off to cook a potato for DD2's tea & mop the utility floor it may be small, but it is filthy out there!

liveinazoo · 15/02/2012 14:50

while kids watched dvd i scrubed filthy toilet...now 2 them disappeared for a pooHmm-why wait til after ive cleaned!GGGGRRRRR

its been milder here today(at last) and we finally are ale to see grass out back!kids are asking to play on the trampoline-Shock after 2hr+ walk!

i need pop shop for more toilet cleaner and then they can go for it while im cleaning in the kitchen(i can see them from there as back gate is broken)

wil pop back in when i get back and be around 4-5 anyone wants a chat or to buddy.x

bessie26 · 15/02/2012 15:25

zoo DH does that too. I have shut the cats out so they don't get my lovely clean floors dirty, could you do something similar with the children (& a bucket!)

DD2 is awake, so I'm supervising her attempts to crawl. The poor thing is getting very frustrated that she keeps going backwards Grin

Scout19075 · 15/02/2012 15:50

zoo I must admit I love a clean loo. However, I'd be very Angry if MrScout waited until I was done cleaning it to poo. If anyone should have the first poo in a clean toilet it's me. Grin

Aww, babybessie. TS was a bum-shuffler for ages. I thought he'd never crawl.

Just home from bowling. Lots of fun had by all and TS managed to come in second. Shock All the other bowlers were between 6 & 10.

liveinazoo · 15/02/2012 15:57

aw i remember the backwards days so wellits amazing they dont just give up trying as its such an effort to co ordinate crawling forwards!

well shop went ok.less than 3mins on trampoline all hell broke loose and since coming in ds has had(very long) hair pulled x2,dd2 has been screeching and bossing at the top of her lungs and dd3 just letting out intermittant screams in a high pitch to indicate shes not a happy bunny!

i dont know whats got into them but i wish it would hurry up and piss offSad

now upstairs and warring while im down stairs i think best course of action is turn up some music and make a cake....
