I am going to try and have an early night once the DC are settled. DD is talking to her teddies and DS was reading last time I checked.
I will probably be up early again tomorrow. I don't mind getting up at 6 but this morning I woke at 5 and couldn't get back to sleep. Seems to be happening a lot lately! Hmm

Hello. I've just caught up with all the posts & have already forgotten the replies I was planning to write. Sorry! Blush

I have taken no pain killers today, so am definatley on the mend I have had 2 naps though Grin, but am still tired, so will be attempting to get an early night once I've started to have a go at a meal plan.

DH downloaded an app for his phone yesterday to record his snoring & it has also picked up all my coughing (it doesn't appear to be waking him up!) - I am looking forward to being able to sleep laying down again soon!

right... must meal plan.

carrotsandcelery · 26/02/2012 22:26

Sleep well BC.

Hi bessie. I am glad you are feeling a bit better. Coughs like that are vile. I can only recommend Vit C, Zinc and Echinacea but I know you already take a vit and have to watch while you are feeding dd2.

I know if I have a cough I have to sleep on my front or propped up. I also get loads of karvol or olbas oil in hot water around the house but I am sure you are doing that too.

Good luck with the meal plan. My plan is basically to spend as little as possible and to live off the ample stores in the cupboard/fridge/freezer. Grin

BlackCatTryingToFly · 27/02/2012 06:52

Just popping in to say "hi". DD is up and whingingHmm. My nerves are a bit frayed but at least the school run will keep me busy!!
Might pop back in later today.

bessie26 · 27/02/2012 07:33

BC hope stuff goes ok today. I'm taking DD1 swimming this morning, so won't be around much.

Scout19075 · 27/02/2012 07:45

Ugh, morning. Monday morning at that.

We seem to be mending a bit so after my appointment with the nurse this morning (pre-booked, nothing to do with this cold) we're going to do a couple of things in town (since surgery is just off of the High Street) and then hopefully continue at home.

carrotsandcelery · 27/02/2012 10:08

I hope it goes well BC. I will be thinking of you.

I am running a maintenance wash in my dishwasher as some things aren't coming out totally clean. Fx it will work.

It means I can't do my normal routines so I am doing some ironing instead as it is building up.

Dlamis · 27/02/2012 10:37

Morning all.

BC Hope it goes ok this morning

I have now got the lurgy :(. I thought i'd managed to escape but it came with a vengence on Saturday. At least it was the weekend and i got to rest while dh looked after the kids and did all the housework. Unfortunately he may be away with work the next two nights. Not good timing. Fingers crossed he can get out of it.

So far I have
packed kids off to school without forgetting anything ( i think)
cleared away breakfast stuff and turned on dishwasher
hoovered hall
changed hoover bag and rescued sucked up toys from bag
put kettle on for Brew

To do
Go to shop and buy more tissues/lemsip/chocolate biscuits
Veg out on settee and watch crap telly :o

carrotsandcelery · 27/02/2012 10:43

Oh no Dlamis. I hope you fight it off fast. I can feel I am fighting something. I don't know if it is lack of sleep and exhaustion or a lurgy. It feels a bit nasal so might be a cold.

I am still ironing. There was a lot more than I realised. Shock

BlackCatTryingToFly · 27/02/2012 11:16

Hi all, am back temporarily, Just going to have a Brew.

I think it went o.k. it was a bit of an eye opener!! It's going to take a while I think before I get real progress but at least I have now been to the first appointment. (that is progress in it's self!)
Thanks for all the well wishes. Smile

Well done BC. You have done the worst bit now. It takes real courage. From now on gradually things will improve. (((big hugs))) and give yourself a big pat on the back.

The dw is finished and I have to say it doesn't look much cleaner down the tubes to me. I think I will ask the power of mumsnet how to get it really clean.

I am still ironing. I am Blush that there is so much as I thought I was keeping on top of it. I clearly took my eye off that ball for too long.

I have hung a load of washing and put the dishes through the dw to see if it will work.

carrotsandcelery · 27/02/2012 12:40

I have got bored with ironing so I have cleaned out the top shelf of my big larder corner cupboard.

I am just having a wee rest before I do the next shelf down which is supposed to be plates but has some other bits and bobs creeping in there. Blush

BlackCatTryingToFly · 27/02/2012 12:53

Hi Carrots, I'm here lurking while I read something.

I will have to go and do some washing up in a bit also need to think about what's for dinner tonight.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 27/02/2012 13:23

Hi BC. I am on shelf 4 of 5 in my big cupboard. I can't believe the stuff I am finding. We have a lot of Semolina it seems Hmm

BlackCatTryingToFly · 27/02/2012 13:32

Well done Carrots.

I have just been scaring myself silly reading some of the stuff on the MH boards.
Shock

I think I need to make a Brew to calm my nerves!!

OP posts:
BlackCatTryingToFly · 27/02/2012 13:57

Right I think I need to get busy and get some of my jobs done --instead of sitting MNetting--
Will try to pop in later.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 27/02/2012 13:57

Aagghh! Eeek! Don't do that BC.

I have learned to avoid reading too much about my thyroid and ds's mental health problems. Most of these things are on a spectrum and many articles or threads deal with the extremes. Very few people experience the extremes and often the extremes occur when people don't seek help, which you have done.

Do some flying instead - much less scary! Grin

The cupboard is now clean and tidy. The bin is full and the recycling is filling up already, despite dh emptying it yesterday. I think that is my declutter and hot spots all in one for today.

There are now a few random things on the worktop that I don't know where to house. There are also quite a few click lock boxes waiting to be washed. I need a rest though. It's like doing a step class doing that cupboard because it goes above the height of my head so I keep having to get on and off a chair.

Will it count as my loving movement for the day too? [optimistic]

carrotsandcelery · 27/02/2012 14:00

this week's missions if anyone fancies a go.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 27/02/2012 14:04

Hi Carrots, Would you like me to do the babysteps links in March?
This month hasn't been completely great with illnesses etc for everyone so I'm hoping to re-focus in March (all being well!)

I think I will try and stay away from the MH board in future cause like you say some of the things are extreme and hopefully wouldn't happen in my life fx.

OP posts:
BlackCatTryingToFly · 27/02/2012 16:07

Not many of us here at the mo . Sad

Hope everyone who's not well gets better soon.
I better go and do dinner.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 27/02/2012 16:48

Hi BC. I was thinking the same. This month has fizzled a bit on the babysteps, although I seem to have developed a little routine of my own that I do every day. It needs to expand though and babysteps will help me do it.

I am going for disgusting job of the week again.

I have just spent 15mins cutting all the hair, thread, bits of string etc off the roller of my hoover. I was Shock at the state of it. There were 2 large handfuls of dusty stringy things once I had finished. Bleurgh! The hoover is more efficient now though and visibly cleaning deeper so I am hoping it was worthwhile.

I have noticed an unexpected benefit of the shake and vac is that everywhere I hoover smells lovely now too because it is all in the hoover bag Grin

Another load is in the dw and the worktops are fully cleaned again - finally.

I have hoovered as well although it is probably pointless as dd has a friend to play and they are running in and out. It is lovely to see though so I won't make a fuss.

carrotsandcelery · 27/02/2012 17:16

I think I just beat myself at the disgusting job of the week as I have discovered that dh has not been poo scooping the garden. I have collected a whole Tesco carrier bag of poo from the back garden. Disgusting!

The challenge now is... HOW DO I MAKE HIM PAY? Grin

BlackCatTryingToFly · 27/02/2012 17:26

Yuck! Carrots that's the downside to having pets! My DH always leaves the cat litter tray till it's minging so I'm trying to add it to my daily routine.

I am missing DH this evening, he won't be home till 8.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 27/02/2012 17:43

Dh is rarely home before 7 and I really envy the mums whose husbands come in at 5 or 6 like clockwork. It is the hardest part of the day generally and an extra pair of hands would be handy.

carrotsandcelery · 27/02/2012 17:43

Tonight's tea is easy as it is extra pizzas from the weekend Grin
