BlackCatTryingToFly · 24/02/2012 19:10

Hi all, not sure how much more I will be on here tonight, may go and watch telly in a bit.
DS and DH are upstairs wrapping presents [excited emoticon!] Grin.

I will need some handholding early Monday morning if anyone is around.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 24/02/2012 20:45

Oooh! BC I love it when secret wrapping goes on

Hand is firmly held now, ready for Monday.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. I have had a bit of a day and am still processing half of it.

I am getting used to going to the psychologists and find it is not taking as much out of me now as it did to begin with. I had a good laugh with her today really. There are bits that are hard to deal with but she knows that and makes that very clear.

We have a new questionaire to fill out. This one is really for Aspergers/Autism. She doesn't think he has either of them but finds the questionaire helpful for establishing dcs social skills.

She thinks we are making progress. It is tiny little steps but progress none the less.

That said I have just put a very sad ds to bed who was sobbing because he thinks no one notices him and he feels so small. Big words for such a young child Sad

I did go for lunch with some very good friends though. We didn't discuss the psychologists but just being around them cheered me up massively. Grin I think I will try to arrange to meet with people more often after the hospital to get me back on an even keel.

I having been running from place to place all day so wasn't properly in until about 6.45 so not much has been done.

Wm is on, dw is on, food was made and fed to family - that is about it but it will have to do for today.

bessie26 · 24/02/2012 21:23

Sounds like you've done more than enough for today. Glad the visit went well, is good that she can see you making progress, it's probably difficult for you to see from where you are. V sad what DS said though Sad - have been trying to think of something reassuring to say about small people being important, but mind is (as always) blank.

I was tempted to look up next week's missions, but resisted. I have more than enough laundry to keep me busy for a while!

carrotsandcelery · 24/02/2012 21:46

Thanks bessie. It's ok, I managed to come up with lots of ways to show him that he is important and noticed - all true. Grin We think it is a grown up problem but I think it is just a human problem and I think he was mostly just exhausted.

carrotsandcelery · 25/02/2012 12:42

Hellooooooo! Anyone around?

I have been up and about early as dd had an early activity today. I did manage to do an hour on ds's bedroom before we went out though and it now looks like a normal messy room rather than a complete dump site.

I have a few boxes to deal with at the back door now but other than that it is great progress.

I have also done another shop. Who is eating all this food?? I have also had to go to the chemist as dd and ds are full of something nasty and gunky. Eeuuww!

Where is everyone hiding? Are you all out enjoying the sunshine?

carrotsandcelery · 25/02/2012 12:42

BC is it today?

carrotsandcelery · 25/02/2012 14:49
bessie26 · 25/02/2012 15:01

Hi carrots were you feeling lonely? Wink

I am still feeling a bit rough, but still improving. Just as well as we are going to DH's boss's birthday party tonight.

I was planning on working through my laundry backlog today (nice & sunny here) but DD1 has complicated matters by having a tiny wee on our bed (she's had quite a few "leaks" the last few days - I'm wondering if she's coming down with this bug too) so I've had to wash the mattress protector (ha! DH scoffed when I bought one) as well as the duvet covers & sheets I ONLY PUT ON THE BED YESTERDAY!!! Argh!

DH has decided he's going to edge the lawn - from what I've seen, this means digging all the plants & bulbs out of the beds & putting them in the brown bin. He's done this before. He will now ignore the "nice clear" flower bed for a year & let it get filled with weeds again.

....and breathe....

Today I have vacuumed, and tidied, and given myself big hair. That is all.

carrotsandcelery · 25/02/2012 15:01

Coooooeeeeeeee!

carrotsandcelery · 25/02/2012 15:09

I have been on a mission since I got home. The worktops, dw are done, the shopping is away, the washing is hung, the kitchen table is decluttered (and I have scrubbed and scrubbed until the permanent marker pen has come off!), the guinea pigs are cleaned out, the windowsill is dusted, the lounge is dusted, the kitchen and lounge are mostly hoovered (one section where I need dh to move a pile of cardboard for us), the sofas and stool are wiped down... Phew!

Do I get a medal? Grin

Or am I all alone and everyone is partying somewhere else together? Sad

My next job is a pile of baking for a fundraiser I am involved in. I had forgotten but was kindly reminded Hmm

Dd is having a friend for a sleepover and has requested pizza for tea - I didn't put up a fight Grin Yum!

carrotsandcelery · 25/02/2012 15:13

Yay! Hello bessie Grin

I am glad you are feeling better. I hope you survive the boss's house ok. Shock Are you taking the dcs or are the gparents coming/a babysitter coming?

It is pouring rain here so I can't get the rabbits sorted out. Their run is disgusting and making me feel very guilty Blush

carrotsandcelery · 25/02/2012 15:58

I am having a go at apricot crumb squares They are in the oven just now. Would these appeal to you or not? I am in two minds about them.

I will let you know how it goes.

carrotsandcelery · 25/02/2012 16:00

bessie the hairdresser has cut my hair so short I am scared to try my big hair incase it makes it look even shorter.

No one has noticed yet, despite having about 6 inches cut off it. Even dh and the dcs didn't notice and even my dmum and ddad haven't noticed. I am not sure if that means that it is so bad no one wants to say anything Hmm

BlackCatTryingToFly · 25/02/2012 16:22

Hi all,

Carrots it is today Wink
I have had a lovely lazy day and done almost nothing! Grin We have ordered Domino's pizzas for our dinner tonight.YUM, YUM!!

The house looks pretty chaotic (with toys all over) but I'm trying to not care today! DH did some washing up earlier so that will help matters.
I am hoping to have a lazy evening too and watch telly or play on here.Smile

OP posts:
BlackCatTryingToFly · 25/02/2012 18:45

So if anyone's around........... What mess can you see from where you are sitting?

I can see: Living room - various toys scattered all over the floor, hair bobbles on floor that DD has emptied from the tidy bag, a couple of items of clothing.

Dining room - piles of paperwork on the welsh dresser that need sorting/decluttering a couple more toys on floor, a cushion on floor, DD's barely touched dinner on the table.Hmm.

in the kitchen (which I can't quite see from here) - lots of washing up and various paintings/art stuff that needs to find a home.

Do I feel like doing any of it? Not really!! might tackle some of the washing up but the rest can wait till the DC are in bed.

Cheers!Wine .

Scout19075 · 25/02/2012 19:08

I'm still very unwell and Toddler is very poorly. Blurgh. I am barely able to keep up with the routine things that have to get done daily (like the washing up). Days like today I wish I lived closer to my mom and she could take care of me.

carrotsandcelery · 25/02/2012 19:32

Awww Scout I think you should just curl up on the sofa and doze infront of the tv really. Mr Scout can do the routines and you can turn a blind eye to the quality of the workmanship for now. (((hugs)))

BC I can see a sideboard covered in filing I need to do, dd's boots chucked right across the floor, 2 dining chairs infront of the tv because the dcs have been playing Skylanders, A LOT of dishes, several board games on the kitchen table, a mop and bucket that I have failed to put away, a slice of apple that someone was feeding to a guinea pig and have forgotten about.

That said, it is a million times nicer than it was this morning so it is all relative Grin

Cheers Wine BC and everyone else! Smile

Scout19075 · 25/02/2012 21:26

Wish I could, carrots, but I think, like he doesn't see the rest of the house (piles of cr@p) MrScout doesn't see the washing up. If I want clean cutlery and glasses/mugs the washing up needs to be done.

Toddler is so sad and pathetic (and really very ill). Calpol, Bunny, BabyBunny, paci and bottles and bottles of juice are his best friends today.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 25/02/2012 21:38

I have had to put the washing machine on cause DS was sick. Sad I'm hoping he will be o.k. now. I don't like it at all when they are not well. (I suppose everyone is the same).

Scout hope you and TS get better soon.

My washing up still hasn't got done as I needed a shower earlier then by the time I had done that the DC had to get ready for bed. DD was charging around like a mad thing tonight before bed so hope she sleeps well!

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 25/02/2012 23:21

Sad that all these dcs and their families are poorly.

Dd fell asleep on her sleepover guest (who fell asleep very soon after.) Fx they sleep all night. Am I the first mum to have kids for a sleepover and for them to be asleep by 9.30 ish? Shock Grin

carrotsandcelery · 25/02/2012 23:22

I hope everyone feels revived in the morning.

liveinazoo · 26/02/2012 07:29

carrotsandcelery · 26/02/2012 08:01

Morning everyone! I have been up, emptied the dw, put another load in, tidied the work tops and laid a nice breakfast table. Can you tell we have a sleepover guest? Grin

I am glad you found us again zoo. Sounds like you had a busy day. I hope all slept well after that.

I have a fundraiser to help out at today and it is free listing weekend on ebay so I will be busy. I will try to pop in and out though.

I hope everyone has a fab and restful day.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 26/02/2012 08:02

Morning all, DS seems to be fine this morning and has just had breakfast so fx.

I have got too many jobs to list today so I will be fairly busy I also won't get chance to do them tomorrow morning so really must try hard today.

Well done on your work yesterday Zoo and Carrots.

I will try and pop in later on.
