Stupid bloody boiler! To quote MrScout "It's playing silly buggers again." ARGH! I told him to call to have someone come out today. I don't care if the heat or hot water comes back before. This is ridiculous. And it's always Thursday night/Friday.

bessie26 · 10/02/2012 07:07

Nooooo zoo you are so good at going to bed early! We just need to start the chocolate chat earlier!

I have a cold. Arse.

Scout19075 · 10/02/2012 07:46

TS and I already had plans to go to soft play this morning so we'll go early and go to the shop (forgot celery). We might have a warm lunch out before coming home for a nap. Brrrr!

Scout19075 · 10/02/2012 09:10

Is there going to be a 1 O'clock Clean Club today?

carrotsandcelery · 10/02/2012 09:22

Morning everyone! I have only just got up Shock

In my defence I was up at 1.30 and 4.30 and awake long before 7am being snuggled by 2 squirmy children and one of the dogs Grin

We are having the trial cereal for breakfast today. What a faff. Ds loves it. Dd's is still too hot to eat and mine is making me feel sick. Bleurgh! I suspect it is aimed at dcs Grin

How is the big bouncy hair this am bessie? I might have to do mine with mine this morning so we can flounce around together Grin

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 10/02/2012 11:01

My hair is big and bouncy but I have no one to show it off to. Are you all busy scrubbing away?

Pointy stick required here as I am feeling inclined to curl up on the sofa and hide for the day Grin

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 10/02/2012 11:24

Ok - prodded myself with bluntish pointy stick.

Ta Das:
Washed and dressed (with bouncy hair)
Dcs fed
Wm on
Dw loaded and on
Worktops cleaned and tidied
Dvds for a friend sorted and in a bag ready to drop off on our way out.

I am feeling very frustrated by dd's lack of interest in getting ready to go out.

I may be a little bit shouty without my caffeine Blush

I am wondering if I should wean myself off after they go back to school next week and if midterm is not a good time Confused

We are off for a walk so I will see if that will "bring me round".

BlackCatTryingToFly · 10/02/2012 12:11

Hi all, I am just here lurking for now.
We have been out doing the shopping.

Hope your walk goes well Carrots

BlackCatTryingToFly · 10/02/2012 12:16

Scout how is your boiler today?

liveinazoo · 10/02/2012 12:27

im in the the one oclock club anyone cares to join me

not done any housework except put some washing on

in my defence i have been out and acquired a snowshovel and cleared my path and a walkway halfway down our hill..i then took sled to grit box(a strange polish looking man was shovelling furiosly as i approached and when he saw me he leapt in van and roared offShock)there was very little grit leftHmm so i only manage grit what id cleared and middle of the road as cars skating all over the place and with parked cars both sides its an accident waiting to happen.

i will look back for the link to have road gritted properly as we are expected to have sub zero temps for next few nights and the black ice will be horrific(last year a van mounted path outside my house and nearly had dd1 as he slithered around)

did schoolrun too..just 7 kids(incl dd2) in her class(of 30) turned up despite school texting us all that it was open....
ther nursery wasnt much better-dd3 got 11 other kids to play with.it seemed really empty!

ds still has swollen tonsils.he drew me a picture of me holding a spade and wrote my kynd mummy(hes 6)..aw wiped eyes at thatSmile

lots to do now p.m
kitchens a bearpit(slatternizing with washing up piles.i have very sore hands that bleed in winter and ithen they become sensitive to everything so gloves are out of the question)

carrots girls loved porridge.ds wasnt sure.i couldnt eat a whole bowl i dont think at breakfast time.-"borrowed "a spoonful-tasted like oaty hot chocolate to me

scout hugs and hot water bottles

wave to blackcat

lemsip for bessie

oh and i cut my hair today.took 2 inches off and washed it before school!

bessie26 · 10/02/2012 12:34

My hair looked reasonably bouncy when I woke up, but haven't looked since (and can't remember if I brushed it!)

I am tired. The DDs have both been crying this morning, which i find very draining. Am hoping the parcel man comes soon (to swap 3 lanterns for 3 storage boxes) so I can sleep this arvo, although the kitchen is a tip so I should sort that out really.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 10/02/2012 12:35

I might be around lurking. I am feeling pretty tired at the mo so don't know if I can chivvy myself to do anything. I still need to have some lunch too.

liveinazoo · 10/02/2012 12:53

WTFAngry...went to link.my local council only grits major roads/bus routes as priority.village access next.if you live in the main area and not on a major route tough s**t.grit it yourself from a grit box(or you can buy grit from local council depot)

requested a box but that isnt going to help us this weekend

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

quickly disappears to do lunch before 1 oclock

BlackCatTryingToFly · 10/02/2012 13:01

Zoo That's pants isn't it about the grit. I think it's the same here although we have no snow or ice today here. Yesterday we had freezing rain which made things pretty bad.

Don't worry if you are late for 1.00. I'm here lurking and when you post again can you shove me off this chair with your pointy stick.Wink

carrotsandcelery · 10/02/2012 13:03

I am just munching my lunch while I lurk. I got my car back from having my new tyre fitted so could do all the other little errands we had to do. There is no pavement on the road to the garage so it was a pretty scary walk with the dcs but we are all still alive. Yay!

zoo I remember Jeremy Vine doing an article or two last year about gritting your own pathways during weather like this. Well done - very neighbourly and it has also clearly set a good example to your dcs.

I have just put the kettle on again! Brew. When I have had Brew I will go to the kitchen and do some cleaning up! --even if it's just for 15 mins--

liveinazoo · 10/02/2012 13:12

blackcat this ones for you-->(little one with gentle prod)
for anyone else loitering and not scrubbing------>
(with a jab,jab,jabberty jab)Grin
back just after 2

Dlamis · 10/02/2012 13:12

Morning all

TaDa's
Got up, dressed
Swished and swiped
Made bed
Got kids off to school
Dishwasher and other washing up done
Shiny sink
Ironing done
Snowman built
Snow angels made

As well as the 1 o'clock club, maybe there should be a 9.00pm hot chocolate club where we all rush off to make hot chocolates before bed. Dh is always nagging me about having milk for calcium and I love HC when i can be bothered to get of my backside to make it :o

Scout - hope you get your boiler fixed soon. It's no fun at this time of year.

zoo - I must be pre-historic too, as I can remember the launch of channel 4 too and my parents muttering on about how we had enough channels and didn't need any more.!

carrots - I am dreading the ds's vocabulary expanding to. It's started already and ds1 is only 6. At the moment he's quite good, if he's told something is a naughty word, he won't say it and will tell other people off if they do. lol. I hope it lasts

Snow here is melting very fast so no need to worry about ice tonight. Know what you mean about the people who do their paths and do half a job. Either do it properly or not at all. Grrr

Dlamis · 10/02/2012 13:13

ouch zoo

I struggling today, but bum seems to be welded to the settee :o

Scout19075 · 10/02/2012 13:17

Found out plumber can't come until Monday so we have an appointment. They'll ring if they can squeeze us in today. I've just emailed MrScout asking if I can ring his parents to beg ask if we can go there last minute for the weekend. I'm sure they won't mind -- they love Toddler (and of course MrScout and I) and want us to be healthy & safe. I just hate asking at such short notice. We stayed out at soft play longer than expected so TS has gone straight up for a nap (under the nice warm covers, etc). So if we do go it won't be until he gets up, but that will give me a chance to pack up some clothes, get the rubbish out, etc.

Shock
Dlamis · 10/02/2012 13:22

Blimey Carrots. I thought our bill was bad.

bessie26 · 10/02/2012 13:23

Chocolate porridge sounds grim at any time of the day to me!

I've got DD1 into bed early, (she'll just sing until she falls asleep) and will get DD2 to bed in a min, just letting her have a roll round without fear of being trodden on. As soon as she's in bed I'll be downstairs scrubbing the kitchen & seeing what's for tea - speaking of which, it must be time for a Brew too?!
