I am eating o.k. but definitely have not been getting enough sleep. Poor DD has a bad cough and cold at the moment so she was waking me up a lot last night.
I have also had a cold which is nearly gone now.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 08/02/2012 14:10

Thank's for the chocolate bessie Smile

carrotsandcelery · 08/02/2012 14:20

(((hugs))) BlackCat. It might help to write down everything before you see the doc so you remember it all.

zoo I read your comments Grin (and you even got a reply!) What a strange thread. Why does anyone care?

It is amazing what you can do in an hour.

Ta Das:
Hoovered enourmous amount of dog hair off beige carpet in hall, lounge, bedroom etc - I should have got golden retrievers - both our dogs are black Shock
Hung washing and put another wash on
Cleaned sink
Loaded dishwasher (delighted to discover dh emptied it)
Cleaned worktops (in behind everything as well)
Filled in form for dd
Made dd a packed tea for night out tonight
Partially decluttered kitchen table

The house feels so much better already and I feel in control again. Hurrah!

bessie26 · 08/02/2012 15:29

have you lot broken MN? Grin

I've finished my home blessing (vacuum, mop, all bogs/potties/seats scrubbed, all bins emptied, 15min tidy in lounge, 5 min tidy of post pile).

I've managed to do alot of this weeks missions already Grin - cleaned the kitchen bin yesterday, scrubbed the taps last night. Keeping the oven hob clean is something I'm trying to do every day, I wiped the fridge last night before DH came back from the supermarket, I cleaned the filters on the DW & it's running a hot wash on empty, and I've just mopped the floor, and drunk a hot chocolate.

I would like to clean the kitchen blind (ugh - total PITA) and the filters on the extraction fan if I get chance this week.

missions are here I am off to have a look and see if I can do them by the end of the week.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 08/02/2012 15:46

Oooh! I have accidentally done some of the missions already as I scrubbed the taps today, swept the floor just before pick up and cleaned the worktops properly too. Woo hoo! That motivates me to do the others although I will grumble lots about mopping.

I am gutted. Argos have sent me three lanterns instead of my storage boxes

carrotsandcelery · 08/02/2012 15:58

Lanterns? Hmm Doubt you could get much in them bessie Grin

I have been on a plastic box buying spree. I bought a small plastic drawer unit, 5 boxes with mulit coloured lids and shallow boxes which stack in funky colours. It is not a great surprise I have no cash is it?

If anyone is a Costco member or is friends with one, ours has lots of boxes just now.

...and they can't bring the replacement out until friday! What am I going to do tomorrow??? (other than play with my Big Hair thingy Grin)

right... the baby has been asleep for nearly 2.5hrs (no nap this morning because of swimming) so I'd better go put the table & chairs back in the kitchen and wake her up.

Scout19075 · 08/02/2012 16:54

Oh dear, Toddler's been a whingey boy most of the day and we still have Seniors to get through -- can I share in the chocolate?

(Will say "hi" properly tonight, after my meeting and TS is in bed.)

Dlamis · 08/02/2012 17:20

lol at your post on the other thread zoo

Loving ridicle here too bessie. I did point out to him once that he had enough smellies/aftershave/razors/brushes/creams/ etc to open his own 'gentlemans grooming shop'. He did have the decency to look suitably embarassed because he knew I was right.

carrots Glad to hear Twilight is settling in.
Magazines were a bit of an issue here too. We got round it by skimming through them, looking for articles that looked interesting enough to keep, ripping them out and putting in a folder and throwing away the rest. It suprising how much of magazines are adverts, and other uninteresting chat about nothing really. We reduced our space taken up by magazines by about 95%.

liveinazoo · 08/02/2012 17:36

i got engrossed spending time dd1,showing her thread for sayings and expressions dont hear anymore.

bessie26 · 08/02/2012 18:47

They sound great zoo DD1(3) has loved all the muffins I've given her so far, so will defo be trying these!

RE the magazines, I did the same as Dlamis & ripped out all the interesting bits. Most of mine were recipes, which has reminded me I have a folder full somewhere that I need to transfer onto my blog!

DH has more toiletries in the cupboard under the sink than I do!

liveinazoo · 08/02/2012 18:56

bessie I have 4 a4 folders of recipes now from magazines!Shock

recipe for winter crumble called for creme fraiche-not altogether sure what that is(cream/cheesey thing?)i substituted 1/2 pint white sauce with the mustard and thyme added.it smells fab.Smile

ooh.its ready.will pop back later

bessie26 · 08/02/2012 19:08

Creme fraiche is some kind of soured cream. Not sure if it's just a nicer sounding name or if they are slightly different.

liveinazoo · 08/02/2012 20:14

meh.1/2 pint white sauce(cheats type-milk and cornflourWink) with the thyme and mustard worked perfectly.a lovely comforting supper on a cold winters night.another winner!

AND i only have 3 muffins left and i havent even got to try one!Shock

carrotsandcelery · 08/02/2012 21:01

Hi everyone!

All these recipes sound brilliant zoo. You definitely need a blog like bessie.

I went to that michelin stared restaurant called McDonalds with ds tonight. Bleurgh! We had to go in to the big smoke AGAIN to take dd to a special night out and I felt ds needed a treat before we drove all the way home again. I offered Frankie and Benny's or Pizza Hut and he chose McDonalds. Hmm It was vastly cheaper than the options I had given so I went with it. Grin He has a cheese roll and chips happy meal and only wants to go for the crap toy that comes with it. They don't do veggie happy meals.

The upside is there are no dishes Grin Grin

I have to go out in a mo to collect dd. I will be very happy to avoid the car tomorrow. I have driven for about 7 hours over the last two days.
