Still no dog Sad

On a plus note I am so unsettled I have cleared nearly all of the ironing backlog and dd must feel the same as she did more ironing of her own and hoovered the hallway.

We seem to be wishing our day away. I am really worried now that they have changed their minds or had another offer.

I have done washing and hanged to dry. I still need to put away some dry washing and do our dinner. We are going to have quiche then if we still fancy it I might make soup although it is getting a bit late now Hmm.
I suspect the DC won't eat quiche or soup so will need to cook something different for them.Sad I can't wait for the day when they are less fussy!

Any sign of the dog yet carrots?

liveinazoo · 05/02/2012 16:40

oh,nearly forgot.had sneak peak for the week and wrote all the missions into control journal/notebook and noted but may ignore detailed cleaning

Scout19075 · 05/02/2012 17:45

Bedsheets changed and whew, I'm tired! It's hard work for some reason.

I think MrScout is finally getting it! He moved things out of the living room without being asked and has said "Oh, I'll take TS downstairs and we'll play while you do things up here." YAY!

carrotsandcelery · 05/02/2012 18:08

Boo! to all colds. I hope the BlackCat litter and Zoo feel ok really quickly.

Yay! to MrScout getting "It" a bit. Keep up the good work Scout.

We are now the proud owners of 2 lovely dogs. One is asleep in here on his bed and the other asleep in the lounge with dd.

They don't love each other yet but they ate their tea happily side by side which is a start.

Dd and I took the new dog for a wander up towards school to time how long she will need to get to school in the morning. The answer was A LONG TIME. She is an old girl and very slow.

I have made toad in the hole with healthy roasties for tea and bought an apple pie as a treat to celebrate our new family member.

I still have a wash to hang up but we had a visitor and then went the walk so time was limited.

Glad the new doggie is settling in ok carrots Grin

scout I have 1 photo of DD1 in the snow last winter - she is crying in it!
I def need to get them some better cold weather gear, we get it so rarely it seems silly to spend so much money on it, but DD1 defo needs a better coat & some waterproof trousers.

Tonight I need to prep squash soup in the slow cooker ready for tomorrow's lunch, do some laundry & meal plan.

carrotsandcelery · 05/02/2012 19:31

It is a good time of year to buy snow gear in the sales. I buy the padded waterproof trousers that you would wear for skiing in, ski jackets, waterproof gloves, fluffy soft thermals padded fur lined winter boots, hats with ear flaps, earmuffs and buffs for mine. If you have a mountain life near you or an H&M then I can recommend their snow wear.

I make sure the trousers are a neutral colour that can be passed on from dd to ds and then sell them or pass them on to friends when he has outgrown them. They wear their jackets as their school/everyday jackets so they get well used and again, the gloves generally get handed down.

I don't hand the boots down but they do sell on ebay. Dd has woofwear boots which cost a packet but can be worn to ride in if it is REALLY cold, although I prefer her not to, and can be worn round the stables and for dog walking too. I would have a pair myself if I could get my incredible hulk calves in them Blush

Welcome carrotsdog!

bessie Toddler didn't cry actual tears to start with but I do have some pictures of him grizzling. I'm sure AmericanScoutCamp will love them anyway.

Hope you feel better soon, zoo.

I think I need a pointy stick tonight. My energy/enthusiasm has gone out the window.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 06/02/2012 06:11

Morning all,

Glad the dog is here carrots
(At your house)

Zoo do you have a recipe or link for cheesy potato bake? That sounds quite nice!

Scout19075 · 06/02/2012 07:11

MrScout has decided to "work from home" rather than attempt the icy roads to the train station and long delays on the train. Smart man. However, it does mean oe MrScout underfoot. He'll "work from home" at the coffee shop in the morning until his conference call (in place of the meeting he was supposed to be going to). That's usually okay but said meeting is four hours long! I'm supposed to keep one Toddler, who loves his Daddy more than anyone, away (out of our bedroom) for four hours. Good thing those four hours are during lunch/nap/Beans time! It does also scupper my plans to start tackling the bedroom during Toddler's nap (in addition to the living room). And I need to figure out the best way to fling with MrScout around.

Confused
bessie26 · 06/02/2012 07:16

Ooh yes, I meant to ask for the cheesy potato bake recipe too!

The roads don't look too bad, so I'm going to be taking DD1 to her swimming lesson this morning (the pool is out in the sticks, so I was a bit worried about going yesterday) so prob won't be back here until nap time this afternoon.

liveinazoo · 06/02/2012 07:58

Hi Zoo that sounds similar to "Baked French potatoes" that I made but nicer.
Thanks for the recipeSmile

I will join you with a box of tissues on the cold front.

I have "monthly misery" this week which made an appearance with an awful (bent over double) stomach ache this morning. (Sorry if TMI)
I had to have a paracetamol it was so bad Sad anyway that seems to have worked now so I managed to do the school run and feel slightly better.
Will try to soldier on.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 06/02/2012 10:33

Zoo I am doing this:

When an advert comes on I go to the kitchen and set timer for 10 minutes.(sad I know!)
But I have just done put away drying up and 1 x wash up in that time.
Good plan I recon! Will get it done a little at a time! Wink

Scout19075 · 06/02/2012 11:18

Can I join in the 1 o'clock clean team today?

Ventured out with Toddler today. An experience given he won't be put down on snow and I don't have proper boots. Blush We just went to Sainsbury's for some supplies for dinner and more plastic boxes for toys. Will do the weekly shop tonight when TS is in bed. Other than that, not much flying done yet.

Will put slow cooker on when TS is having his lunch.

Am determined to still fling/declutter with MrScout lurking in the house.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 06/02/2012 11:24

Do you still have snow?

We have sunshine today. No snow here (might be too near the coast).

Yes Scout anyone can join the 1.00 club. Smile

I will have to get DD in a minute so will try to pop back in between 12.30 and 1.00.

Any sign of Carrots today? [worried emoticon]
