Same with carrots -- didn't see any so bought some and then find half a bag. That's okay, peas and carrots and TS's favorite veg and a lot of our one pot meals call for both.

Neenook · 30/01/2012 22:00

Wow you lot have been busy today!
Feeling very lazy in comparison...am back to work tomorrow so early start - will try to get some washing on before I go, and will attempt to get to bottom of ironing pile too.

On the plus side - I've made the packed lunches, put the DW on and sewn some nametabs on that I've been meaning to do for ages - just have a couple of cub/beaver badges to do now.

Might have a look at the Fledgling Fliers thread too, hope no-one minds!

'See' you in the morning.

Scout19075 · 30/01/2012 22:03

I'm watching the social workers program with MrScout then I'm going to go do the washing up.

bessie26 · 31/01/2012 07:04

carrotsandcelery · 31/01/2012 07:58

Good morning.

Sounds like you all had very busy days yesterday. I work full days on Mondays and Wednesdays and I think I'm just going to have to accept that from now on, nothing other than the absolute necessities will get done on those days. Never mind.

Ta-dahs so far
DS breakfast, lunch made and dropped at CM
DW unloaded and reloaded and put on
WM put on

To-dos
have a soak in the bath
sort out DS's room
hang out washing
try and run hoover around downstairs
s+s bathrooms.
2minute hot spots - kitchen counter and stuff in the hall
post DN birthday card (can do that on way to CM to pick DS up).

That'll do for starters I think. Anyone else's plans for the day?

BlackCatTryingToFly · 31/01/2012 09:19

Morning all, Just signing in --while I wake myself up a bit--

BlackCatTryingToFly · 31/01/2012 09:34

Anyone around ?

Fancy doing some buddying ??

Scout19075 · 31/01/2012 09:38

I need a bit of pointy stick motivation. I'm struggling today. TS seems a lot more chipper then yesterday but still seems harder work than normal (though in reality I know he's not).

I have managed to get TS dressed (must admit I'm usually a PJ sloth on Tuesday mornings) and got our stew in the slow cooker for dinner.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 31/01/2012 09:46

----> Pointy stick at Scout

I'm thinking of starting at about 5 mins to 10 and try to keep going till 11ish

How does that sound ??

Anyone else in ??

BlackCatTryingToFly · 31/01/2012 09:47

Or I should say meet here at 11.
(taking small breaks if and where needed in between Wink)

carrotsandcelery · 31/01/2012 09:54

Morning BlackCat. I am going out at about 10.40 and will be out for quite a while. I am having my breakfast just now and have a cake in the oven to take out with me. I hope to do jobs until then though if you want to buddy.

Ta Das:
Got out of bed - you probably know how hard this was as you all have restless nights with the dcs.
Made lunches and snacks
Washed and dressed to shoes
Got breakfast for dcs
s&s both bathrooms
took dcs to school
Blethered to a friend
Top up shop for cake baking
Baked cake

To Do:
Rescue kitchen (it looked great last night but it doesn't take long)
Hoover hallway (also done yesterday but needs done again)
Folding/ironing of dry laundry (not sure enough is dry to do another wash)
Filing

I am not sure I will have time to do all of this but that is what I would like to achieve.

Today's Mission is here I would like to do this too. I will see how it goes.

Am I Flying solo ??

BlackCatTryingToFly · 31/01/2012 09:57

Hi carrots X posts. yes o.k. I'm off to make a start.

Scout19075 · 31/01/2012 09:58

I'll meet you, Black, if Toddler lets me.

cairnterrier · 31/01/2012 10:10

Hi Blackcat Scout and Carrots

Sorry for not replying sooner, I did S and S of the bathrooms once I'd got out of the bath so am just having a Brew and some fig rolls. V nice but sadly lacking in dunking potential.

Might write DN's birthday card whilst I'm sitting down for a bit. How's everyone else getting on?

bessie26 · 31/01/2012 10:21

cairn I used to have a different to-do list for the days I was at work (3 days a week) - just the real bare minimum - shine sink, swish & swipe, & just try not to let the mess pile up too much!

I am cross with myself (again) for taking to bloody long over the bloody meal plan & shopping list. I've just re-done the plan (here if anyone wants inspiration) so I'm doing less cooking (and eating more from the freezer), and still need to write the shopping list, but I should be starting my house blessing I MUST pull my finger out next week & JUST DO IT!

I've got the WM & TD on and have cleared up from breakfast. Will prep lunch & hopefully get dinner in the slow cooker before DD2 wakes from her nap.

Am determined to start doing missions in feb (hope to start detailed cleaning in march, but we'll see how that goes!)

carrotsandcelery · 31/01/2012 10:26

It has taken me all this time just to rescue the kitchen Shock but it looks ok again now. The kitchen worktops could do with a better scrub but they will have to do for now.

bessie can you think of a different way of approaching the meal plan maybe? eg stick a list on the fridge/pin board and add meal ideas to it as they week goes by. Your dh could do the same for any meals he fancies. Then you just have to try to fit them in to a balanced week. I haven't tried it myself but it might work. If you knew what you were having then the shopping list might be a bit easier to face.

carrotsandcelery · 31/01/2012 10:29

I am finding the missions quite satisfying. I don't have a toddler to entertain during the day though so have more time to do things than most of the rest of you.

Yikes! I am really nervous. I have been invited for coffee at someone I know's house this morning. I know her a bit but not really well. I think it is a coffee morning so there will hopefully be a few people there. I look like death warmed up after such a poor night's sleep. Yikes, yikes, yikes. It is very tempting to hide at home and do my cleaning... but I won't. Wish me the ability to make chit chat please Grin
