Carrots maybe it was a Blackbird or a Robin, I'm fairly sure I've heard them sing nicely early on. (not at this house though).

I am determined to make a go of it today, I will not be beaten!!

I need to unpack some books and ornaments we put away before Christmas (we had to create a space for the tree).
And I need to tackle my kitchen.

I have just kneeled on some train track from DD's train set so my knee hurts a little. Oh and I need to finish making her train set that should keep her happy!Wink

p.s. Hope your tummy is o.k. Carrots

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 13/01/2012 10:15

carrotsandcelery · 13/01/2012 10:52

Hello again,

I have decided to copy my posts before I post them just incase Mumsnet is going to do this all day. That way if it does I can paste them in again when it is working again. That is my theory anyway. I don't know if it will work. I will let you know.

I have done the dishwasher, worktops and hoovered and mopped the kitchen end of the kitchen. I have also hung the washing and folded and put away the dry stuff. I have ironed yesterday's dry laundry that needed ironed and I have done a little of the back log too. The iron is still on but I thought I would have a wee slurp of my Brew before it got cold and see what everyone was up to.

I am listening to radio Scotland again and they have just had an article about Mind Apples - doing 5 things a day that keep your mind happy and healthy. It seems a very flylady approach to mental health and I thought it might be of interest to some of us who post here.

mind apples

I haven't read the website stuff yet so I can't vouch for it but it is there if you are interested.

Right! Back to the ironing while I wait for stage one of the floor to dry.

Btw I am fine thanks. I think keeping busy will take my mind off it.

OP posts:
BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 13/01/2012 11:36

I am just having a Brew and a snack break.

So today I have:

Breakfast
got dressed
got DC breakfast and dressed
DS to school
Made a train track for DD to play with
Made snacks for dd
15 minutes washing up

I am wondering about making some soup for lunch to use up any veg I have left (if it is still useable) before we do shopping at the weekend.
I'm sure I can just follow the instructions from my cookery book but adjust the amounts of everything accordingly. Wink

carrotsandcelery · 13/01/2012 11:44

Your veg should all be fine BlackCat and if it is going in soup it doesn't matter if a carrot is a touch rubbery Grin Don't eat anything slimy though Shock

It is perfect weather for soup here. Beautiful and sunny and -2C!

OP posts:
liveinazoo · 13/01/2012 12:25

its sunny here too(although a touch milder!!!!)
i got dd3 and spent way too much at the shopsSad

carrots we have a robin that nests in the hedge each year.its dead friendly and comes to sit near me when i have a mad moment and weed the garden(that happens as often as my cleaning didBlush).is there anything particular robins like to eat that i could put out for him to snaffle?

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 13/01/2012 12:26

Lovely weather here too, sunny, dry and no wind, just how I like it! Smile

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 13/01/2012 12:29

Zoo I get a bit of anxiety too sometimes. Especially in places with lots of people!

Grin for your DD.

I have got my washer on too.

liveinazoo · 13/01/2012 12:30

im with you on the weather front black
p.s having a GMF lunch-marmite roll and a bananaWink

carrotsandcelery · 13/01/2012 12:31

I think robins love meal worms. You can buy them live in our garden centre to put out for the birds.

Ours likes rabbit food - we put the cleaning outs from the rabbits on the composter so that is probably what attracts him over there too - either that or he likes veg peelings as well.

I have put another wash on and I have done some more of the never ending ironing backlog.

I am trying to build myself up to doing stage 2 of the floor mopping.

Morning Afternoon all

carrots hope you are feeling better.

So far I haven't done anything much over and about the essentials like making sure the kids get to school/pre-school.

However I have finally after several months of putting it off and managing arranged for someone to come and
a) service the boiler,
b) fix various plumbing issues (normally do them myself but these are a bit beyond me)
c) fix the falling down curtain rail and damage to the wall (could do this myself but just for once can't be bothered lol)

That alone is enough for me for one day GrinGrin

The weekend is dedicated to moving the ds's to the other room, but I will get back on the flying wagon next Monday with renewed enthusiasm and vigour. maybe Wink

shouldbeelswhere · 13/01/2012 13:55

carrots and blackcat and liveinazoo you won't believe this I've been frequenting the other flying thread thinking it was you lot and that I'd been away so long everyone had name changed! I've been on it since new year!!!!Blush oh I've missed you guys!!!!!!!!!!!

Eggrules · 13/01/2012 14:24

School run done

Kitchen is spotless - all dishes done and away
Washer is ready to go - just need to add uniform tonight
Spent all morning trying to track down lost property (no luck)
Stuck to my low carb meal plan

Eggrules · 13/01/2012 14:25

Oh I also did 10 min mission

carrotsandcelery · 13/01/2012 14:27

Hmm Maybe we should always make sure we have a regular's name in the thread title.

Was the other thread any good? Could we learn anything from them?

Welcome back Grin

My stomach is still really sore but nothing unpleasant seems to be happening apart from it being sore. Being busy seems to be the best distraction.

Dlamis that sounds like an anti procrastination day to me. I have a long list of repairs which are beyond me but I am having to spread them out as it gets pricey. I have around £500 of after school activity fees to pay this month Shock and am having to dip into savings to do it and then I will have to pay that back into savings over time too Dh has prioritised the tv repair Hmm I rarely watch so it wasn't bothering me Grin

I have finished mopping - finally! I have to admit I mopped around the complex Playmobil castle set up he has going on bang in the middle of the living room area of the floor Blush

It was a good day to do it as the sun on it looks lovely now Smile

I haven't hot spotted or room rescued or decluttered anywhere though, unless emptying the ironing basket counts as I have also done that. Yay!

If I felt better I would have some chocolate but I will pass right now Shock

bessie26 · 13/01/2012 14:43

should are you angel?

carrots they were your cheese muffins! DD1 & I made them this morning & had them for pudding. We somehow managed to get through 6 (I am blaming the greedy DCs!)

I've done/doing 2 loads of laundry & have cleared up the mess from lunch (spag Bol)

DD1 is asleep, but DD2 is refusing to settle, which isn't helping me to get anything done this afternoon!

carrotsandcelery · 13/01/2012 14:49

Oh that is a scrummy recipe bessie. Did you put any additions in or just stick to cheese?

We still have banana and oat muffins. I might have to have one to check their freshness Grin We can have them with custard for pudding tonight if they are a little past their best.

I noticed this am there are only 2 flapjack pieces left. Someone has been munching.

Ds is having tea and my parents tonight and I am clueless what to cook. I don't fancy anything which I think is what is causing the problem. I might make soup too as that can roll all weekend if it isn't used up. I have the making of heaps of meals I just can't look at food.
