You are all going to be so disappointed. My hobby is horse riding. Ta da!! I really wasn't trying to be coy. I didn't realise you were all so nosey took such an interest in fellow thread members Grin I am totally mortified that it is not hang gliding or rally racing or anything a bit more adventurous Blush

gossip - I'm going to print it out & leave it on the kitchen worktop in case DH fancies doing anything! (he already does loads of stuff around the house, so I'm not expecting him to do much!)

I've found DD2s swimming nappy & fed her a yummy mix of pear & prunes

Carrotsandcelery · 01/11/2011 13:50

bessie it is ok - I have hidden it instead.

bessie26 · 01/11/2011 16:03

right, i have

  • vacuumed downstairs (did a really good job in the hall ready for zone work)
  • mopped kitchen floor (yuk, it had been too long since i last did that)
  • put away washing up
  • loaded dishwasher
  • 2nd load of laundry in the dryer (carrots did you get yours all dry ok?)
  • Put washing machine on empty (i haven't done this for a while)
  • chased the oven man, apparently he can't fix the elec oven as he isn't gas registered & he will need to remove the gas hob to fix the oven. Pity he couldn't be arsed to phone to tell me that yesterday
  • cooked up a bag of pears to freeze for DD2s breakfast

If we have enough time i want to pop upto sainsburys as I need to return some kids clothes that don't fit. Surely a crowded supermarket will provide the perfect environment for the pruney lunch to do it's job on DD2?! [ewww]

Carrotsandcelery · 01/11/2011 16:21

bessie you definitely need to get dd2 out in public - preferably somewhere with no changing facilities. It would also help her move things along if you forgot the changing bag Grin

and wearing white? Wink

AngelDog · 01/11/2011 17:39

I love the spreadsheet, bessie, although I'm slightly in awe. I am still struggling to have more than about 2 things on my routines. Blush

I'm still working on getting to bed on time, with mixed success.

bessie26 · 01/11/2011 18:57

angel I never get it all done, but at least if it's all written down so I don't forget (unless of course I forget to look at the list)

Still no poo action from DD2 & I've just had a txt to say our lesson tomorrow morning has been moved to a bigger pool

Carrotsandcelery · 01/11/2011 20:09

My dd could hold a poo for about a week at that age bessie and then explode. I don't suppose that is helping though. Grin

Party bags are filled, baking is done, shopping is done except fresh bread for sandwiches.

Dh says the forecast is good (always a worry with an outdoor party in November).

Presents are wrapped.

I think I can relax for an hour or two. Phew!

BlackCatinaWoollyhat · 01/11/2011 20:44

Have done:
hoovered up
cleaned dining table
2 min hotspot
cooked dinner
been shopping
and got dc to bed.

I think I need to do 15 minutes in kitchen tonight as looks like a bomb has hit it!
Then I might get a bit of chill out time before bed, Trying to go by 10.30 tonight
as last night I stayed up till 11.00 then dd had a whingy night so I didn't get enough sleep.
Right I'm off to kitchen.

acrunchieandacupoftea · 01/11/2011 21:11

How do you have time for all that bessie?

Carrotsandcelery · 01/11/2011 21:16

bessie your planner is just the sort of thing I want to work out for our house. I manage all the dcs activities etc on a daily routine basis so can't see why I can't manage the house in a similar way. Somehow it evades me though...

OP posts:
missmakesstuff · 01/11/2011 22:06

Bessie that is a great idea, I need to organise myself a planner - I have one of those folders with clear pockets, think I will print out each day and then I can tick off each thing with a board marker.

My DD could also hold poos for days - 10 days once, it was poonami. Or Poomageddon.

I slept a bit better last night, but DD still woke up. She is 18months, and shows no signs of settling down with her sleep, it's driving us crazy! Fingers crossed for tonight as I am shattered. Coughing is a bit better I think, although I slept most of the night sitting up like the blooming elephant man.

I intend to get some exercise into my routine, going to try the shred for the next 30 days, and some stretching in the mornings for my bad back.

Right, off to plan my planner..and bed.

Have a good Wednesday everyone (my next to favourite day, cause once it's over it's my day off!)

bessie26 · 01/11/2011 22:54

Thank-you for your "support" Hmm I never used to worry about it as the babies have to wear two nappies in the pool (one disposable, one neoprene) and nothing is supposed to be able to get out. But a few weeks ago a boy in our class managed it! Shock and of course they had to close the pool & cancel all the other lessons! (his mum was obviously mortified)

Glad you all like my spreadsheet [proud] I need all the help I can get in remembering what to do when, so I've had a different task list for each day for ages. Will be interesting to see how usable the new format is!

Carrotsandcelery · 01/11/2011 23:02

bessie dh (after laughing at your woe - and remembering ours) is remembering we had to "walk" dd's legs to get things moving and massage her stomach very gently.

I also have a friend who has had to massage his chicken's...erm...bottom (?) with olive oil to help an egg release

Eeeeeew!

BlackCatinaWoollyhat · 02/11/2011 09:59

Bessie good luck for today!

I had to overcome my spider fear this morning. There was a dead one lying next to the fire place (had been there for a week)Blush
Anyway I was brave enough to pick it up in a tissue and put it in the bin!
If it had been live DH would of had to deal with it!

Here's my To Do list:
Wash up/dry up
clean tidy kitchen
Cat litter tray
Meal planning
2 min hotspot

That will do for now.

Carrotsandcelery · 02/11/2011 10:59

bessie any progress?

I am amused we are all waiting with baited breath for a baby to poo Grin

Black well done on the spider. I had to get one out of the bath this morning but it was teeny weeny tiny so didn't freak me out too much.

I have been up since well before the crack of dawn as it is ds's birthday. yawns

We have done the family phone calls and he has opened the presents from us and dd.

I have made and packed all the food for the party except the pizza which is cooling ready to pack.

I would really like to go back to bed now.

I am having a cuppa and then tidying up the kitchen as best I can for my parents coming this evening before we party.

It is going to be a busy day.

Oh and bessie good luck - despite my giggles I do feel your pain.

bessie26 · 02/11/2011 13:47

Happy Birthday Baby Carrots!! Grin

we made it through the swimming lesson safely - as the pool was a bit cold they all had to wear little wetsuits over their two nappies, so we had an extra layer of protection!

Just having a cup of tea & finishing off my G&B expresso chocolate while looking at my nicely printed to-do list

I've kicked off some laundry & cleared up from lunch. I think I'll quickly clean the loos (house blessing) before doing a bit of zone work. I'll save the tedious meal planning (that I should have done yesterday) for when I feed DD2 later

Carrotsandcelery · 02/11/2011 13:59

Thanks bessie - I am glad you survived without shame.

I used to have a little wet suit for ds when we went swimming. He would turn blue and could never stay in as long as dd wanted to.

I have cleaned the very dirty window sill, hoovered very thoroughly and I am just off to clean the kitchen. Hopefully I can declutter the kitchen table as well before school pick up.

It is still dry so far - cross your fingers everyone please Grin

I'm poorly but i still managed to blitz the lounge before school this morning, I'm pretty sure its a water infection so im desperately trying to hold as much in before i go and failing a little, luckily my ds1 has some empathy and has made me a lovely cup of coffee and keeps asking if im ok, he really is wonderful sometimes :)

Carrotsandcelery · 02/11/2011 21:17

Oh dear Gossip. Drink as much Cranberry juice as you can stomach and loads and loads of water - it at least dilutes it. If it stings then try going in the shower with water running over you or in the bath (gross I know but needs must) Cymalon from the chemist usually sorts dd out in a flash. Good luck and you have my sympathies.

OP posts:
bessie26 · 02/11/2011 21:17

gossip sorry to hear you are poorly. Coffee is a diuretic, so might not be the best thing to drink if you're trying to not wee!

carrots hope it stayed dry & your DS has had a lovely day?

I wiped down lots of woodwork in the hall this arvo - yuk! I have never done it & we've lived here over 4 years, need to finish that off tomorrow.

Am currently bored bored bored of trying to come up with a meal plan for next week - as if getting mush in there for DD2 didn't make it more tricky, our oven has broken & the part is going to take 7-10 days to come so I could be oven-less for 2 weeks! arrrgh!

Carrotsandcelery · 02/11/2011 21:19

bessie it stayed dry thanks and wasn't too cold either. One very tired ds delivered to bed this evening - asleep in a flash Grin

I can wee properly !!!!!!! the docs gave me antibiotics last night and I can now wee yay!! I have also washed most of the pots, waiting for the hot water too cool so I can do the rest, and dp will be coming tomorrow evening so I want to get cleaned up properly, I'll catch you all on my breaks and tell you how I get on.

Hope everyone is well. Grin
