You are all going to be so disappointed. My hobby is horse riding. Ta da!! I really wasn't trying to be coy. I didn't realise you were all so nosey took such an interest in fellow thread members Grin I am totally mortified that it is not hang gliding or rally racing or anything a bit more adventurous Blush

Morning all, Glad to say I'm feeling a lot better this morning. [hsmile]
I have a long list of things To do:

Have breakfast
Get a shower/get dressed
put new tax disc in car
put dates on calender (School stuff)
wash up/dry up
tidy everywhere
hoover up
Decluttering (hotspots)
Clothes washing
Go to town and tell bank they still aren't getting our address right!
(It's been over a year now!) Oh dear!
And sort our under the stairs cupboard. It has got cluttered again with plastic bags and plastic packaging for recycling.Shock I think we need to visit the recycling center!

Carrotsandcelery · 27/10/2011 10:00

Black I have one banking type of letter than continues to go to my old address 11 years after we have moved out Shock despite regular instruction from us. Luckily a relative bought our last home from us so they forward it on - otherwise it would be a total pain.

We slept in this morning so had to rush the dcs to school. Luckily they were co operative and we made it in time. Phew! It means I have only just had my breakfast though Blush and I go out riding in an hour so I will have to get my skates on.

Hi all, he came back over yesterday and is staying till Sunday, and shined the sink again last night [hgrin], ds1 finally got diagnosed from CAHMS, and they are saying he has ASD, ADHD, and DAMP, wasn't expecting the last 2 but hey-ho life goes on and of course as he is old enough and intelligent enough to understand, they told the both of us what they were going to diagnose him with, so I've had the whole I cant do this I've got ADHD, cue a lot of reminding that he was fine to do it before he got diagnosed lol.

AngelDog · 27/10/2011 14:11

Glad you've got a diagnosis, Gossip, and that the new man is still FLYing. Grin What's DAMP?

Blackcat, glad you're feeling better.

I need to pack up this afternoon for a visit to my parents for a couple of days.

AngelDog · 27/10/2011 14:12

Ah, and DH has found a piece of software that turns the computer off at a certain time (10.30 at the moment) so I can't stay up late MN'ing. Blush Hopefully it'll improve my productivity. Grin

Carrotsandcelery · 27/10/2011 14:45

Hi everyone. Gossip how do you both feel after the diagnosis? We were a bit shocked by ours as we expected ADHD and got anxiety and depression instead. Even though I knew there was a problem I was a bit shaken by it too. I also have no idea what DAMP is - can you enlighten me? Most importantly what does the diagnosis mean for all of you? What are they suggesting to support him?

On the upside your ds is clearly very bright if he is already seeing ways to manipulate his diagnosis to his advantage Grin

I am glad you have some support at home now on the sink shining front Grin It sounds like things are going well.

Angel have a great trip. A friend of mine uses a timer on her laptop to limit her ds's time online. Great idea for the laptop to have a bedtime though Grin

Glad you've got a diagnosis gossip - what happens now?

Am Envy of your sink shining man. DH left the pizza trays soaking in the sink last night so I had to deal with them this morning

BlackCatinaWitchesHatonaBroom · 27/10/2011 21:43

Hi everyone, Got some of my list done, Will try and do the rest tomorrow.

Carrots That's a long time to still get mail going to the wrong house! [hshock]

We went to the bank today to try and get them to sort our wrong address problem and the man said "Leave it with us and we will sort it out" so fingers crossed!
They had got the house number wrong at our new address and had been sending it to my new neighbours house instead of our house. Just glad she was honest enough to tell us!

Gossip What is ASD?

We sometimes wonder about our toddler as she is very active and runs round and round. Hard to know what is unusual when they are toddlers as they get up to all sorts anyway!
Today she fell and banged her head on a dining room chair so now has another bruise on her head.

Carrotsandcelery · 28/10/2011 14:45

Hello everyone. My house is a tip. Sad Must dash and do a bit before school pick up.

OP posts:
GossipWitch · 28/10/2011 15:59

Hi all sorry I have been a little away from the comp I'm a little distracted [hgrin].

Anyway for all who are a little confused ADHD :- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
ASD:- Autistic Spectrum Disorder
DAMP:- Deficits in Attention Motor and Perception.

And I still haven't shined my sink for nearly a week its been done for me and i haven't made myself too much coffee either, its being done for me lol, very happy right now, wasn't expecting the adhd though.

BlackCatinaWitchesHatonaBroom · 28/10/2011 18:31

Hello all, I have been too busy to get near the computer today.
We managed to declutter our under stairs cupboard and take the stuff to tip and recycle bins. So it is nice and tidy-ish under there for now.
I have also been food shopping, cooked dinner and done some washing up.
I still have jobs to do from my list (yesterday morning) will have to carry them over to tomorrow.

Gossip Thanks for explaining those things. Had heard of ADHD but not much about the other two.
I wish my man would be good at sink shining!

Carrots Hope you are ok. I was fed up with the state of my house on Wednesday but it's amazing what you can do if you feel in the right frame of mind.
I sometimes wonder if I have Manic depression cause some days I feel really down and other days I am really good. It is in my family. I have never asked my GP about it though.Hmm

bessie26 · 28/10/2011 21:56

Hi everyone, a friend of mine posted a sign on facebook yesterday which said "A tidy house is the sign of a broken computer" and I thought of us all Grin

I don't really know anything about ADHD or the others (I bet there's a support thread on here somewhere though!), but hope that now you have been diagnosed you nwill get any support/help you need?

I haven't done much house-wise again today, DD1 & I did some baking this morning, then I spent the afternoon at the beauticians Grin DH is out on the piss with his work mates tonight, so he won't get to see my beautiful hair!

GossipWitch · 29/10/2011 10:21

bessie There is plenty of support on here and it is great as there are plenty of parents with children like my ds, although every child is different its nice to know that there are others in the same boat as me, I often go on the special needs children thread, just either for a moan about what ds has done today or what some random stranger has said about him, there is also a lovely thread in AIBU (yes that's right a lovely one lol) about a lady who was on holiday with an sn child and how it opened her eyes to it all.

Still haven't done much flying as I'm so pre-occupied with new dp, and I also have a busy day ahead as I need to do some shopping, go to a halloween party with the littler boys and then get ready for the halloween piss up tonight [hgrin]. dp is going to dress up as Zorro mmmmmmm. I can't see him staying dressed up for too long [hwink].

BlackCatinaWitchesHatonaBroom · 29/10/2011 10:23

Anyone else around this morning?
I'm afraid I'm feeling a bit unmotivated --half asleep-- this morning.
Hope I get going soon as I still have jobs to do. Need to be ready for DS return to school on Monday. Uniform washed and ready also DH goes back to work Monday.
I can see Monday as being a lonely day!

BlackCatinaWitchesHatonaBroom · 29/10/2011 10:23

Sorry Gossip x posts

Carrotsandcelery · 29/10/2011 18:10

Hello everyone. I have been out all day with a friend, shopping, lunch and cinema. It has cheered me up. Grin

I also have treats for a night in with dh tonight as I was at a party last night and out all day today and now I feel a bit guilty.

I am STILL in Playmobil chaos. I broke the flylady rule of not taking out more than you can deal with in one session. Blush I am making real progress with it though and hoping that, in the long run, it will lead to much better play and more organised cupboards etc.

I have got all but one of ds's birthday presents wrapped though and his birthday is not until Wednesday. I forgot about the other one and am now considering keeping it for Christmas. It is a matter of whether I am happy to read Captain Underpants from now until Christmas or whether I want him to have the Dick King Smith books now. I suspect that for my own sanity I should give them to him Grin

Dh has been on flying duty today and the house looks ok so I won't insult him by doing any more myself

Off to rescue apple pie from the oven - yummy!

I hope all is well with everyone. Black it is Saturday so I think it is fair to relax. Gossip watch you don't make a mess with that Zorro outfit - make sure it is neatly folded Wink

I'm hungover and have to deal with Sunday lunch uurrrgghhhh.

Carrotsandcelery · 30/10/2011 11:34

I have... ...finally packed up all the Playmobil. Da dah!

bessie26 · 30/10/2011 13:35

Well done carrots, I have done very very little! DD2 woke up at 11pm & 3am so I went back to bed when she did this morning!

We've just bundled them both into bed for naps as we've got a party to goto later. DH says that as DD1 is having party food for tea, it's only fair that we have takeaway to tonight! I'm not going to argue as I've got to prep up tomorrow's lunch & some mushed up veg for DD2 so I will have had enough of cooking!

blackcat hope you're all sorted for tomorrow?

gossip is that new man of yours still shining your sink? (I'm beginning to wonder if this is a euthanism for something? Wink)

angel hope the pc is feeling better for it's early bedtimes?

What happened to cheese?

Carrotsandcelery · 30/10/2011 13:42

Enjoy your party bessie.

We have been gift wrapping and I have done a fairly extensive hoover.

Dd has been working on her bedroom AGAIN Hmm

Dh has dealt with the dishwasher and thinks he has cleaned the worktops (will have to do it again when he is otherwise occupied)

Ds has washed himself.

I have put a wash on.

Lots of team work going on just now. Grin

OP posts:
BlackCatinaWitchesHatonaBroom · 30/10/2011 14:09

I need to do another load of washing (did two yesterday) then I think we will be almost ready for school tomorrow. Just need to gather up a few bits and bobs like reading books etc.

DH did the washing up earlier so I don't have too much of that to do.

Well done on the Playmobil Carrots[hsmile]

GossipWitch · 30/10/2011 16:17

Yes he still is, bless him but he'll be going home tonight so I'm a bit sad now, wont see him again for a whole 5 days then he'll back, haven't done much due to the hangover.

Carrotsandcelery · 30/10/2011 19:17

I am back from my party and you will never guess what my dmum gave my dd... more playmobil. [hshock] [hgrin] Luckily it is a set that will go straight into her Playmobil house which is permanently up in her room so I don't have to find somewhere to put it [hgrin]

Black I am also doing a lot of washing. My tumble dryer is not working again so it is slowing me down.

Gossip dh and I have been together about 20 years but I can still remember how long a few days without him felt in the first few months. I still miss him now if he is away. It must be love Gossip, that sink shining has spoken to your soul [hgrin] I wish we had a soppy/love emoticon.

Well, I have tidied and cleaned my worktops and sink but I haven't done the drainer yet. I will get there eventually though.

I am much less stressed just having a little bit of the housework under control again.

OP posts:
BlackCatinaWitchesHatonaBroom · 30/10/2011 21:24

I have news, I have just Ironed a PE top. [hshock] [hshock].
I NEVER iron anything so this is massive progress![hgrin]. It looked really nice after I had done it but it will probably soon be all screwed up again when DS takes it back to school.
I do find though if you hang things neatly on the airer after they have been washed they don't usually need to be ironed. None of us in our house wear proper shirts. DS and DH have polo type shirts for school and work.

Carrotsandcelery · 30/10/2011 21:26

Black best have a wee lie down now to recover from the shock Wink
