Anon I know Grin But I hate the house being dirty, it really stresses me out. The kitchen especially shows the dirt really badly - I love the colours, but a grey floor and duck egg cabinets look grubby fast!! 15 minutes in there twice a week keeps it looking really nice, and isn't a massive hardship as long as I'm organised.
Besides I have a new steam mop to try out this afternoon. I've been waiting for an afternoon when DS1 is at preschool so that I can sort it out in peace without him wanting to 'help' Grin

Ali sympthies re car. everything seems so expensive at the mo. I can't beleive how much our weekly shopping costs and there's only 2 of us at home. DH thinks we should try Lidl. I somehow don't think he would want to compromise his expensive snobby taste in coffee Grin
Am also fed up of cost of printing inks and how long they last ie seconds.

Afternoon everyone- sympathies re the car Ali- my daughter's car went in for an oil change and my mechanic told me the clutch has nearly gone:( I did think it was slipping a bit the other day but put it down to my bad driving as I drive an automatic!!!

Anyway my list looks like this:

Parent helper at Pre-school done
Put away veg box delivery.
DS's friend round to play.
Start sorting/decluttering dh's office.
Shampoo carpet in office.
Mop kitchen floor.
Laundry- an ongoing saga!
Re-make Ds's bed- he wet the bed again last night- doesn't wet for weeks then we have several nights on the trot when he does Confused
Make shopping list for cake order I have to do on Friday- have most of the icing colours I need but not all.

Ongoing

Declutter paperwork in the office (eg- WHY do I keep paperwork for a car I no longer own?!!)
Sort out junk under my bed.
Put photos in photoframe and re-hang.
Hoover out car
Call decorator
Maybe do some grass cutting/strimming if it stays dry

that's enough to be getting on with for now!!

PlumBumMum · 10/05/2011 14:20

Kansas do you make cakes? Me too, how did I not notice that before?

I have tonight dinner made as once I leav for school I won't be back until after 6 yuuuccckkkk, I hate Tuesdays

I have a birthday cake for Saturday and the school cake sale on Friday and I really can't be bothered with the cake sale because I have 2 cake next week one which I'm stressing about not stressing about iykwim!!

Ali dh has just priced parts for our carSad, but thankfully he does the work so helps to keep cost down

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 10/05/2011 14:44

Thanks for the sympathy re. the cars! We are fortunate that it doesn't put us in difficulty, but it definitely makes a dent in the budget especially when it all lands at once as it has done this month!!

Well DH has got an interview on Monday for his dream job. It would be amazing if he got it, just amazing. I am so nervous for him! :)

Hello. DH's car needs its annual service soon. The Land Rover dealership wants £800+ Shock for a regular service and even the nice local guy wants £400+ (and he is not a rip off merchant!). Just one of those cars that is expensive to service. Mine costs about £200!

So that is within the next 6 weeks or so and THEN MOT fee, (£50) insurance (£350) and car tax (£230) - ie. £1000 to keep it on the road. But it is a great car.... and we wouldn't be without it.

Had a mini effing major wobble at the house today - we've cocked up on the size of one of our radiators and they need to dig the floor out again in one of the rooms we have just decorated (great).... thought it was all going a bit too smoothly. Have had so few hitches to speak of, so am really cross with myself, but at least we spotted this now rather than in a month's time when it would have been hugely disruptive rather than just a pain in the arse.

No list today - will try and resume normal service tomorrow!!!

Right, quick tea for DC and then off to swimming.......

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 10/05/2011 17:33

Anon - it just keeps coming doesn't it? Mine is £400 for a service but the real killer is DH's insurance because he has points Hmm and has to insure for business use. Ouch ouch.
PITA about the radiator, but as you say at least you've realised now.

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 10/05/2011 17:36

Anon - annoying re the radiator but it does seem to have been smooth sailing so far so hopefully that's the only big hiccup.

Ali - it is bloody painful! i think it has got worse today, wasn't sure before talking to friend at bf group, then left there and it was hurting more in my breasts - was more nipples before. But already feeling better knowing we're doing something about it - & that it isn't me & DD getting the position/latch wrong, which is what i had been thinking.

Have sorted a child's wheelchair with leg brace for DS1 for a school trip he's got next week. The Red Cross will lend it to us, bit of a drag to go and get it from quite far away but hopefully worth it.

Tues:

  • strip beds & find clean bedding (tomorrow?)
  • swap bathmats & towels (tomorrow?)
  • reading/chill out/tv time DONE
  • laundry; WM On & washing on line - Brought in & sorted
  • ironing; Started
  • tea x 3 (pasta) DONE

Annoyed about the radiator, but it'll be sorted tomorrow, so it's not a big deal really, but just cross with myself that I didn't clock it either at the beginning, or at least a bit sooner than one week before my oak flooring goes down?!?!?!?!? Oh well.

Yes, JKS, things have been pretty smooth so in the grand scheme I just need to keep it in perspective. Will cost us a bit of extra money (not a lot) to put it right. Just want to get RID of builders dust not create more?!?!? My poor decorator!

Sorry to hear about the thrush - hope the tabs sort it for you soon.....

I found the nystatin easier to get in DS and it does work, just more slowly. As long as you're being treated you should be ok. Have you got the Daktarin cream for you as well?

JustKeepSwimming · 10/05/2011 20:46

No & I did query that at the time but he said the fluc. Shd work on it's own. Ds2 was screaming throughout the appt (thought we were there for him I guess) so not conducive to chat.
May buy some otc if I can't get an appt tomorrow. Off to bed early in (vain) hope of some extra sleep...

TimeWasting · 11/05/2011 09:30

Morning! Hope you got some sleep JKS.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 11/05/2011 09:42

JKS - I took fluc. when I had thrush while I was BFing DS1 and I didn't need daktarin or anything. I did need a 17 day course though.
I'm not sure I haven't got it again tbh, breasts feel painful and almost bruised but it isn't a duct or anything. Seeing the GP tomorrow for 6 week check so we'll see.
