Changing Bedding

Have just heard a survey that says 1 in 20 of us only change our bedding twicw a year. How disgusting... remind me not to day ver at their homes. There is nothing nicer than gettting in to newly washed sheets. Who are these people? Come on own up how often do you change yours?

Yuck yuck yuck
At least twice a week here

TallulahDoesTheHula · 10/02/2011 13:08

i do mine every couple of weeks, really should do it more often but not organised enough!

jenroy29 · 10/02/2011 13:28

Everyweek, 'tis the only reason I got a tumble dryer!

victoriah3 · 10/02/2011 13:41

I have to own up that I do not iron my sheets, can't be bothered - too much ironing to do , at least they are clean and smell of lovely fabric conditioner and not sweat. Don't have a tumble dryer prefer outdoors on the line

Once a week.

Twice a year? That is actually disgusting.

GrumpyFish · 10/02/2011 14:26

Once a week (Tuesdays!). More for toddler - every few days. How disgusting!

blametheparents · 10/02/2011 14:29

I def don't iron my sheets, can't be bothered.
Hang them over the banister that runs round the top of the stairs to dry and there are never any creases.
Def don't change the beds enough, I aim for once a week, but sometimes ends up once every 3 weeks Blush.

Once a fortnight here-I can see I'm the thread bedding slut!

kingprawntikka · 10/02/2011 14:33

Once a week

MooMooFarm · 10/02/2011 14:34

Every week for our bed, every couple of weeks for the DCs.

undercovamutha · 10/02/2011 14:36

I think that would be DH is he lived on his own.

I change our bedding about once a fortnight (DCs about once a week), and DH always asks why I'm doing it cos I only did it 2 weeks ago! I keep trying to explain that most people do it more often than once a fortnight, but he honestly doesn't believe me!

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 10/02/2011 14:37

Once a week in this house.

If I leave it longer than a week, I feel a bit bleurgh about getting into bed.

Too much hassle to do more than weekly though.

undercovamutha · 10/02/2011 14:37

I think the survey also said 20% of people change their sheets once a month.

That's quite a lot of people, and when you factor in the fact that a lot of people probably lied and said more often than they actually do, then its even worse!

LessNarkyPuffin · 10/02/2011 14:38

Once a week here. Did they ask how often the bed was changed or how often the individual changes the bed? DH manages a couple of pillow cases bi-annually.

Also if they asked him how often he'd pluck something out of thin air as he never bloody does it.

LessNarkyPuffin · 10/02/2011 14:40

Ew Maryz. If he's away overnight do you throw open his windows?

kerala · 10/02/2011 14:41

Even when I was a student I had 14 pairs of knickers so every other sunday went to the lauderette with bedding and pants Grin. Now every 2 weeks at worst every week usually.

ChippingInSmellyCheeseFreak · 10/02/2011 14:42

There have been a lot of threads asking this - they are always really funny Grin

Weekly in the winter
Twice a week in the summer

Sometimes more, never less.

If I won the lottery I'd pay someone to come and change them daily and iron all the bedding! Sometimes I iron it, sometimes I don't - depends which set it is, but I far prefer it ironed!!

LessNarkyPuffin · 10/02/2011 14:43

Even with daily showers the sheets get a bit whiffy after a week or two so I'm Shock at monthly- for grown ups obviously, teenage boys are part Fungus the Bogeyman.

LessNarkyPuffin · 10/02/2011 14:44

MMMMmm. Summer sheets baked in the sun.

GetOrfMoiLand · 10/02/2011 14:44

Every day in the summer, every other day in the winter.

DD does her own, about once a week.

I cannot bear grubby sheets and love getting into clean bedding.

I don't iron any of it, though.

tanmu82 · 10/02/2011 14:45

every week here for ours, every couple weeks for DC's as they seem to spend more time in our bed than their own Hmm
