I am a rubbish FLYer again, lately, but keep checking for the birth announcement.

Completely agree about drawing a line and enjoying him, I wish that I'd done that sooner with ds1. Hope that you're feeling better soon.

SatinShoes · 08/12/2010 21:12

Aw, Wendy. Sounds awful. These things are always much better when you have made a decision.

Happy mum = Happy baby :)

swanriver · 08/12/2010 22:28

You've had such a rough week - I think no-one but a heroine could have lived through all that - it sounds apallingSad - I must have got off lightly despite moaning so much Blush

Thank god you are now able to enjoy him as you say - he must be so so sweet and changing every dayEnvy, and hope the mastitis is cured quickly - hope gp looks after you properly.

Well here I've had a tense and shouty day (without screens) Children seem to be adapting well, but Wednesday is usually hell and today was no different Blush

We did piano lesson and Scouts..Dh was out tonight which made arrangements tricky.
Ds2 had a tantrum about his badge which I hadn't sewed on (and in fact had lost LOLBlush and Dd lost her Brownie sash again two minutes before we set out Hmm Car had not enough petrol (bad mum), chocolate bribes after Scouts failed to stop dd shutting her finger in the bathroom door Hmm and ds1 is now crying his eyes out over the loss of telly for next 9 days..."Mum...it just.. makes me laugh sometimes" (tragic expression)

However on up side dd is now doing craft, reading avidly, and ds2 is talking non-stop to ds1 about football etc instead of just bickering. They are still as loud as ever though.

I feel a bit defeated by them really..and all the things I keep forgetting or haven't organised.

wendy thinking of you

Jas · 08/12/2010 22:50

for Wendy

wendyhappysmile · 09/12/2010 08:59

Poor you swan you are feeling it too. Your children sound brilliant and vibrant so try and see the positives of them not be defeated! Sure they'll get used to no screen time - we had an Oxford reading tree book this week where the story was all about the Dad turning off the power on holiday and pretending it was an electricity cut so the children couldn't watch TV or play on the X Box - very funny! DS was amazed by the story!!! that adults could be so devious - hope he doesn't start to question some of my silly rules and explanations! LOL

Off to doc this morning for infected eye - hope it's not blocked duct like DD had - that was horrid until we had the operation at 18 months old, forever on antibiotics.

Have a good day everyone. (agony of boob is getting worse but hey ho)

swanriver · 09/12/2010 09:32

Wendy have you tried hot flannels, and expressing to try and relieve pressure a bit? It must be worth ringing a bf line just to get some help with the pain xxxx
Hope Arthur had a good night.

Kitchen nice and tidy this morning Shock
only lost PE shirt and one tantrum so far Xmas Grin
getting to grips with ds2's ASD-ish behaviour means keeping very calm, staying firm, and ignoring outbursts - "distract, soothe and remove" is my new mantra Grin
2 kids to school with violins, gymshoes located at last minute, everyone (I think) brushed their teeth, waterbottles.

Today I need to go to shops for more presents
pay house insurance now there is money in bank
do piano practice, piano lesson, card and small present for piano teacher
find party outfit in my deranged wardrobe
hoover for baby sitter
change sheets
supper is: baked potatoes, tuna mayo, sweetcorn, raw veg

swanriver · 09/12/2010 09:39

Ooh and I forgot to say (it's taken me 8 days to notice the e-mail)
but I WON A PRIZE from MUMSNET after taking part in Q & A on William Boyd. A copy of Any Human Heart! One present less to buy! Dh wants to read it!

Nuttybear · 09/12/2010 12:15

Wendy I really feel for you. I have a strange reaction to a overload of oestrogen or some girly hormones. If I have the wrong pills my body comes out in a rash. When DS was born I came out in a rash again and the Doctors ignored it!Sad I tried real hard time breastfeed him. Cried buckets when I had to give into bottles but he is a fine strapping lad now. Thank god we have alternatives (I think my Gran did some wet nursing for Money after my Mum was born! War time etc..) I did hear about cabbage leaves on breast too! I think I did try it too Smile
Swan I really feel for you! because I'm so daft I have made a notice board and put it on the inside of the front door. I put post-it's on it and print out a week calendar with 'to do's' on it. It has saved me on many ocassions. When i forget to post the week up, the week goes wrong. You can't be expected to remember everything in you head. WELL DONE AND CONGRATULATIONS ON PRIZE [FSMILE][FSMILE][FSMILE]

swanriver · 09/12/2010 12:40

Nutty Virtual John Lewis here too, and just ordered some things from Woolworths online. Toyrus has a rubbish site though where most things are out of stock [grr] (basically just marketing for the shop)
We have a local Wilkinsons..(not that near but busable - bought a few bits there...)
So shopping nearly done Xmas Grin
Just the record player then...Hopefully not with cracked records on it Wink

I think my notice board would spontaneously combust with the variables! I can remember the obvious things just not the last minute brainwaves! However you are right, I think I'll just hang dd's Brownie Sash up ceremonially on the kitchen wall. On the antlers.

Piano now.

swanriver · 09/12/2010 12:46

Flylady's tip for always filling up your car when you don't need too was a good one too..Hmm

I am quite good at coping really - coping often consists of saying you can't cope Wink A rant a day keeps the doctor away!

Nuttybear · 09/12/2010 12:54

OOOOO! can't do online shopping as i over spend! Must crack on I'm still here Xmas Blush

swanriver · 09/12/2010 13:02

Yup. Ordered 6 copies of Twilight soundtrack, 4 copies of Ridicule (DVD) in hope they might come in useful...Blush
Morrison's Fudge for everyone else I fear.

scattyspice · 09/12/2010 16:25

Sounds like progress swan and nutty Xmas Smile.

wendy Poor you, sounds eyewateringly painful, hope it soon improves.

fun just wait until you get the tree up, then DS2 will have some fun!

I had such a nice day yesterday that I went mad and agreed to take the DC to beavers/rainbows in steadily deteriorating conditions! I got the car stuck 3 times in 1hr and had to be pushed out by friends and passers by! I can't see this snow/ice clearing until spring!

Today:
laundry

OverflowingMum · 09/12/2010 17:55

Quick fly past

wendy oh poor you. So glad you have made the decision though, and hopefully can now move on. Hope boobs less sore today and you're feeling a bit better physically too.
Someone once said to me (or did I read it somewhere?) "Remember mothering is marathon, not a sprint, so don't waste all your energy on the breast V bottle debate" Quite wise I thought Xmas Wink

everyone-else helllooo...sorry have read thread but rushing!

Soooo Dh was off yesterday with porrly DD2 and 4. they seemed improved today, so we attempted school...dd2 only lasted till 1.30 though before they rang me, still at leaset got mostly done at work!
Now DD4 also looking ill again. Tis most odd, DD2 seems to be not too bad during the day, then goes very down hill late afternoon, and then throws up again at about tea time....Xmas Confused

Still, day off tomorrow, will no doubt spend it in the company of various small people!

Am now taking DD1 and DS1 to cinema to see new Narnia film...part of my resolution to try and spend more time with them individually(well individually-ish IYSWIM!)
Although DS1 also not feeling totally well...but we'll see how it goes.
Must admit I havent been out in the evenings for ages, and am fighting urge to put PJs on and send Dh instead!!

BBtomorrow, hopefully nice and organised Xmas Grin

funtimewincies · 09/12/2010 19:01

Argghh, ds1's party is on Saturday and my house is still a tip Xmas Shock!

Makingchanges · 09/12/2010 20:33

OFM when I recently had gastro bug, I seemed to get better until late afternoon, apparently something to do with being tired and not being able to fit bugs.

Wendy hope you are feeling better. I tried to breastfeed DD - She wasn't having any of it and in the end I gave in. Was best all round.

Hello everyone else - Off to finish off uni work after long day at uni.

Been shopping for weekend though and bought xmas cards sonot a complete write-off

Of course it is. Part of you will be broken hearted and will grieve for what could have been. That's ok, you know !

When you've worked through that you let her be who she is, and accept that and then fulfilment will reign all around. I promise. Grin
